One Pair Regulated Output Amplifier Limiter Compressor For Tube Amplifiers. Dimensions 19″ x 7″ x 10. Net Weight Each 17.0 lbs/7.7kg. Made For Dept of Commerce Civil Aeronautics Administration by Maxson Instruments, Long Island 1, NY. This is a cool looking and nearly identical pair. Tubes in each are 6X4, 6AL5, 12AU7, 12AX7 and 2 x 6AU6. Inside there is a manufactured date – May 28, 1957. Appears to be all stock and original and untouched for many years. Please bear in mind these two units are not plug and play. They will need to be gone through by a competent technician to repair, replaced any worn out and leaky capacitors and resistors. This compressor came from a California engineer who is in the process of downsizing his massive collection. He had removed it from a local station approximately 20 years ago. Since then, it’s sat in his radio room as a display piece. From what we can tell, it’s complete and all original. It’s a little dirty from years of being stored in an open-air rack, but should clean up well! The unit will have to be recapped before it can be used, and other components (resistors, etc) may need replacement as well. Also, we cannot guarantee the life of the tubes as we have not tested them. The tubes will be removed and boxed to ensure they reach you in good condition.
