It has its tube cage and went through an extensive service in 2018. Capacitors were replaced, the Selenium rectifier was replaced with a Silicon diode, tubes were. Replaced and bias switch cleaned. The tubes all test strong with plenty of life left. It is in good cosmetic condition and works perfectly. Power output: 35 watts per channel into 8 (stereo). Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 0.1%. Input sensitivity: 1.3V. Signal to noise ratio: 90dB. Speaker load impedance: 4 to 16. Valve complement: 2 x 6BH6, 2 x 6CG7, 4 x EL34. Perhaps one of the best sounding hifi amps in this accessible price range I’ve ever heard, the 8B surely out performs its McIntosh counterpart. Aside from missing the tube screen cover, this is literally an 100% all original unit. The tubes currently installed just happen to be the best sounding set I could install out of the more than 5 quartets I auditioned.
