Vintage Tube Amp

This is a pair of the Heathkit W-5M model mono amplifiers. They are in clean condition and I have not plugged them in or tested them at all as they probably need to be brought up slowly to avoid damage to them. Both of them have the pair of Genalax KT66 tubes in them that I haven’t tested as well. They both have the silver Peerless/Altec Lansing 16458 output transformers in them and both have the Peerless stickers on them. The cabinets show some scratches on the gold front and sides and the black covers have some age type spots of wear on them as well and one is missing the Heathkit nameplate. One Pair Regulated Output Amplifier Limiter Compressor For Tube Amplifiers. Dimensions 19″ x 7″ x 10. Net Weight Each 17.0 lbs/7.7kg. Made For Dept of Commerce Civil Aeronautics Administration by Maxson Instruments, Long Island 1, NY. This is a cool looking and nearly identical pair. Tubes in each are 6X4, 6AL5, 12AU7, 12AX7 and 2 x 6AU6. Inside there is a manufactured date – May 28, 1957. Appears to be all stock and original and untouched for many years. Please bear in mind these two units are not plug and play. They will need to be gone through by a competent technician to repair, replaced any worn out and leaky capacitors and resistors. Up for sale here is this set of 2 vintage Eico HF-14 tube amplifiers, with serial numbers 1813 and 4365. These came from a local tube guy, and came to me just as you see them, with no tubes. They are in fairly good physical condition, but here are some things to note. One has lots of paint chipping, and the other has some wear but nowhere near as much. Both have some rust on the transformers. Cords are attached and seem to be in good shape. One appears to be complete, but the other one has a few loose wires underneath and looks like it’s missing a bit of circuitry. These were updated at some point, to some extent–they have some new caps and resistors. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. This is a really rare pair of amps–don’t miss it! Nice pair of Vintage W5M Mono block HiFi tube power amps. These were my main amps for a few years after they were fully rebuilt. 30 watts per channel (amp). Cosmetically and electronically excellent and ready to run. These are not full of cheap Russian tubes, but have nice mostly old USA tubes and sound amazing. These are 6L6 based Williamson style amps, and each uses a pair of 12AU7′s in the preamp and driver stages, and a 5R4 tube rectifier. I installed a pilot light in one of them. One has the larger “old” style output transformer, and one has the “new” type. Both are Peerless of course. Some guys say the older larger one has better bass, while some guys say the newer one has special nickel plated laminates and sounds even better with more “clarity”. Read about them on the interweb. I couldn’t tell the difference in everyday use as differences in room. Will have more of an impact, but suit yourself. Any difference is very subtle if even detectable, (and I used large Altec 604-8G studio monitor speakers). This listing is for a Pair of Vintage McIntosh MC-30 Tube amplifiers Model Type A-116-B. The amplifiers are in good working condition and were serviced about a year ago by a highly qualified technician who changed the can electrolytic capacitor on one of them and changed whatever else either of them need to get them in good working order. Cosmetically they are in very nice condition with the one on the left in a little better condition. The better condition one has very minor chrome blemishes and almost no pitting/rust. The second one has minor pitting and rust. Deatails of the cosmetics can be seen in the pictures. Some of the electronic part/s may continue for another 50 years without need of replacement and some electronic part/s may fail a few days after you start using the item. Pair of Vintage Ampex Tube Monoblock Amplifiers 30watt Restored! Had my service tech go through and replace all needed caps. These are great sounding monos. Both are identical in restoration. I installed some very nice amperex/Japan. All level and 90% plus. Clear top rca 12ua7 tubes. Amperex bugle boy ef86. Just a cool manual. Cords have been replaced with new. Rca were still clean so opted not to replace. These are great amps. You will not be disappointed. These have very little noise. I ran this with the Conrad premier ten. A Little Legend of the 2A3 Sound from feed-back. My Presto 41 uses the 2a3 Tube. It sound better than any other limiter I have ever used.. Rock on 2a3 and the Presto is probably more rare and was used to master most of the really old cool mono recordings.. Years before the Fairchild.. It sound like silk with creamy harmonics abounding..
