Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Pro in museum-grade condition and in perfect working order complete with the original footswitch and a complete vintage tube set. One of the very first Brown Panel amps to leave the Fender factory, this Pro is jaw-dropping in its presentation, purportedly a test amp at the Fender factory, given to an employee with only two subsequent owners. Early Brown Panel design elements of this Pro include the lighter pinkish brown-colored tolex than later offerings, an RCA speaker jack, and a dark green frame alnico magnet Jensen P15N speaker. This amp delivered 40 powerful, articulate all-tube watts via a vintage USA-made pair of matched Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes. The Pro boasts Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit, and this complex design was Fender’s only true pitch-shifting vibrato offered in an amp. Swampy, thick, and very Leslie-esque, it’s a three-dimensional, full-bodied tone unlike any other Fender. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the shimmering cleans of the later Black Panel line, this Pro has a very warm and nuanced sound, with plenty of clean headroom before pushing into saturated overdrive. The circuit offers EQ controls that have a very wide sweep for everything from classic hollow twang to warm, sweet sounds that will delight any Jazz player. The circuit is extremely original, serviced sparingly only to ensure optimal functionality. The preamp retains all of the original yellow molded Astron caps which have a sweet, musical quality central to the sound of Fender’s early’60s circuits. New components are limited to the main filter caps and smaller electrolytics in the preamp, all cleanly sleeved in their original Astron Minimite wrappers. The transformers are a combination of Triads and Schumachers (Triad being Fender’s primary Tweed era transformer supplier, and Schumacher supplying most of the transformers in the Brown Panel era). While the Triads don’t have date stamps on the transformer bells, the Schumacher-made choke dates to the 30th week of 1959. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 10th week of’60. The tube chart is intact, and the “JK” date stamp translates to November of 1960. And while the tube chart notes the 6G5 circuit, this is actually one of the first examples with the 6G5-A circuitry. The speaker is the original Jensen P15N alnico magnet driver with a clean dark green frame, blue foil Jensen label on the magnet cover, and date stamp from the 30th week of’59. The speaker has also been professionally reconed. Cosmetically, this Pro is immaculate in its presentation, retaining the original pinkish brown rough brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth. The faceplate is also in remarkable condition, complete with the full set of original brown barrel knobs. The original flat Fender logo, sphinx glides (feet), and nickel corners are present, along with the original, very well-preserved and unbroken dogbone handle. The original footswitch is included, along with a replica slip cover that’s just a hair shorter than the cabinet.

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Dual Showman Black Panel vintage tube amp head in exceptional condition, recently retubed and freshly serviced. Differentiating it from other Showman heads of the era, the “Dual” variant has an output transformer ideally wound for a 4ohm load (as opposed to 8ohms). Loaded with a fresh quad of properly biased JJ 6L6 power tubes, this Showman has a sound that is powerful, clear, and sparkling. As Fender’s flagship “piggyback” amp head of the Black Panel era, the Dual Showman delivers 85 watts of all-tube power via the AB763 circuit. The Dual Showman is a real powerhouse for guitar, bass, or your favorite Fender Rhodes or combo organ. The low end is ample, and the amp has plenty of headroom and efficient clean power until about 6-7 on the Volume knob, where the signal starts to compress and overdrive. Fresh back from our techs and ready for another half century, this Dual Showman is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is very original, retaining all of the original transformers which date between late 1966 and the first weeks of’67. The preamp retains the majority original blue molded Ajax caps, central to the sweet, musical tone that’s a hallmark of the Black Panel sound. The preamp features a few new low noise metal film resistors, a couple new caps (high quality Mallory and Sprague replacements) and the majority of the original CTS pots, with visible date codes from’66. The power supply has been recapped with F&Ts. A new bias cap has been installed, along with a three-prong power cable. The tube chart is intact inside the head cabinet, with a “QD” date stamp that translates to April of 1967. This amp retains the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, both of which are notably well-kept. All of the hardware is intact, including the piggyback clip bars, handle, corners and raised metal Fender logo. The original faceplate also retains its stock complement of witch hat knobs.

Awesome 65 blackface vibro champ. This is a awesome sounding little amp that is dripping with the old vintage fender mojo, this sweetie has been in my amp line up for some time and she just don’t get out as much as she should so I’ve decided to re-home her. All works correctly and has had a service check up and new jj tubes recently and I had a 3 prong ground plug installed for safety. Pots are dated 8th week of 65 and transformer is dated 40th week of 65. These amps are only increasing in value I was informed that it is a newer silverface vintage cabinet but is indeed a 1965 chassis so it’s not a 100% original amp but it’s still a great investment.. If any questions feel free to reach out thanks for looking!

1959 Fender Deluxe Tweed Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp 5E3 with Jensen P12R

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order, featuring the original Triad output transformer, original tweed, a freshly-serviced and very original circuit, and the stock Jensen P12R speaker. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed-era 5E3, and this amp delivers everything one expects from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is very original, retaining the stock Triad output transformer, while the power transformer is a factory replacement from Schumacher (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the’60s), dating to 1963. All but one of the original yellow Astron capacitors are intact, and the Stackpole pots have visible date codes from the 37th week of’57. The preamp and power supply features new electrolytic caps, cleanly sleeved in the original Minimite wrappers for a proper vintage look. A modern three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tube set includes vintage matched Sylvania 6V6 power tubes, an RCA 5Y3 rectifier, and modern preamp tubes. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico magnet 12 driver with a deep blue/green frame and Jensen sticker on the bell cover. The date on the edge of the speaker frame is from the 2nd week of 1959. The tube chart is extremely clean with an “HC” date stamp which translates to March of’58. The inked serial on the chart matches the number stamped on the chassis too. The chrome on the chassis is bright and clean, and virtually all of the original white silkscreened text present. All of the original chicken head knobs are present too. The original tweed and oxblood grillcloth is intact, with ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and modest edge wear on the enclosure. The original leather handle is present, secured with stock brackets.

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Black Panel models for its ideal size and power, well-suited to both stage and studio applications. The amp delivers sparkling cut and muscle, and a surprising amount of headroom, cascading into lightly compressed tube overdrive when pushing towards 10 on the Volume dial. Offering 35 tube watts through a vintage Jensen C10Q speaker pair, the Vibrolux is the perfect platform for getting the most out of a variety of guitars and stompboxes. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has clear note attack and sweet tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube-driven Reverb and percussive Tremolo. The preamp is extremely original, retaining a full complement of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient in the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Black Panel circuits. All of the transformers are original and date to’66, manufactured by Fender’s primary transformer supplier in this era, Schumacher. All but two of the original CTS pots are intact too, with visible date codes from the 26th week of’66. Even the power supply retains all of its original (and still viable) Mallory capacitors. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The Jensen C10Q 10 speakers are a vintage matched pair with black frames and foil stickers on the ceramic magnets, dating to the 37th week of’66. The tube chart is mostly intact, with a “PJ” date stamp which translates to October of 1966. The original smooth black tolex is intact, and the baffle is a modern solid pine replacement (a notable upgrade from the original MDF material), complete with lightly aged silver sparkle grillcloth. The original hardware includes the full complement of witch hat knobs, the raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet).

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Princeton in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This genuine vintage Brown Panel era Princeton features a very original 6G2-A circuit. The Princeton has a tone that is very dynamic and warm, with crystalline clean tones giving way to rich, saturated overdrive when turning up the Volume knob. The circuit is as pure and straightforward as they come, and the single Tone knob has a surprisingly wide range. The bias based tremolo circuit has a strong, dimensional pulse and particularly broad range of speeds too. The circuit retains the original pair of Schumacher transformers which date to the 39th (power) and 46th (output) weeks of’61, and the preamp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps, which have a particularly sweet, musical tonal character. The original Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 43rd week of’61. The power supply features a new multi-section can cap, and two smaller Sprague electrolytic caps in the preamp, all ensuring reliable use. The tube complement includes all vintage valves, with a matched pair of vintage JAN 6V6s, a Silvertone-branded (RCA) 5Y3 rectifier, and vintage preamp tubes as well. The speaker is the original gold frame Oxford 10J4 speaker, with a date code on the edge of the frame from the 21st week of’62. The original tube chart is intact, retaining an “LA” date stamp which translates to January of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp features the original rough brown tolex, wheat grillcloth, and the stock leather handle. There’s a bit of light staining and scuffing on the edges of the enclosure, and light patina on the original handle caps and chassis straps. The faceplate is very clean, retaining the original brown barrel knobs. A modern replica Victoria Luggage-style slip cover is included.

Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Re-tweeded decades ago, and with enough subsequent age to look very vintage-correct, this Deluxe features a freshly-serviced and very original circuit, a Jensen P12R speaker, and a matched pair of vintage RCA 6V6 power tubes. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from an amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. The circuit retains the original Triad power transformer, while the output transformer is a vintage-spec replacement manufactured by Schumacher (the company that produced Fender’s transformers at the very end of the Tweed era), dating to 1960. The original Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 41st week’54. The preamp features the majority of the original yellow Astron capacitors, and the circuit has new electrolytic caps throughout, with F&Ts in the power supply. A modern three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tube set includes vintage matched RCA 6V6 power tubes, a Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier, and a pair of modern preamp tubes. The vintage Jensen P12R alnico magnet 12 driver has a deep green frame and Jensen foil sticker on the bell cover. The date on the edge of the speaker frame is from the 25th week of 1954. The tube chart is extremely clean with an “FG” date stamp which translates to July of’56, and this same “FG” stamp is present inside the chassis. The chrome on the chassis is bright and clean, and virtually all of the original white silkscreened text present. All of the original chicken head knobs are present too. The decades old retweed features the proper lacquered diagonal tweed, and the vintage-spec oxblood grillcloth has also been redone in the amp’s lifetime. The leather handle has also been replaced, secured with stock brackets.

1964 Fender Bassman 6G6B Blonde Brown Panel Vintage Piggyback Tube Amp Head

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bassman in perfect working order. The last iteration of the Brown Panel-era “Piggyback” Bassman with smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth, this Fender drives two Sovtek 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube power. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brown Panel circuits respond well to picking dynamics with Fender’s hi-fi, glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a huge sweep, and after around 5 on the Volume dial, the amp cascades into rich tube overdrive that compresses noticeably and is particularly roaring and thick. It’s the kind of natural tube saturation that only comes from pushing a well-designed Fender circuit to its limit. A Pre-CBS Fender Blonde Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones. It’s hard to beat this particular Bassman circuit for a tone that bridges the gap between the dynamic grit of the Tweed circuits and the shimmery cleans of the Black Panel line. The circuit is extremely original and professionally serviced with just a couple new smaller electrolytics in the preamp and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the famed blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact in the preamp, an essential part of the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Brown Panel circuits. With stock Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth-covered leads. All of the Schumacher-made transformers are intact, with date codes from early 1964. The tube chart is intact inside the head cabinet. The tube complement includes a pair of Sovtek power tubes that have been properly biased, and the preamp tubes consist of a combination of vintage and modern valves. The head retains the original smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth, a cosmetic combination only seen in early 1964. The tolex exhibits some various marks commensurate with age, with a couple spots of light staining where sap in the knots of the pine cabinet has made its way through the tolex, and some cigarette burns on top. The raised Fender logo on the head is original, and the black faceplate retains its full set of cream barrel knobs. The hardware includes the original piggyback clip bars, nickel corners, sphinx glides, and handle.
