Vintage Philco and MajesticType 45 vacuum tubes. Which is a celebrated directly heated power triode introduced in 1929. It was extensively utilized in the audio output stages of 1930s console radios and is highly sought after by modern audiophiles for its exceptionally clean and musical single-ended audio amplification. These were an estate find. According to historical data sheets like the Tung-Sol 45 Manual, the standard operating parameters include. Filament Voltage: 2.5 V (AC or DC). Filament Current: 1.5 A. Maximum Plate Voltage: 275 V. Average Plate Current: 36 mA. Amplification Factor (Gain): 3.5. Maximum Power Output: 1.6 to 2.0 Watts. The base features a standard UX-4 4-pin arrangement. When looking directly at the bottom of the base with the two larger pins pointing toward you. Filament Pins: The two larger/thicker pins (Pins 1 and 4) carry the 2.5V filament supply. Plate Pin: One of the thinner pins (typically Pin 2) connects to the high-voltage anode. Grid Pin: The remaining thin pin (typically Pin 3) serves as the signal input grid. The handwritten text “FIL OK” on the glass bulb indicates that the filament has been tested for electrical continuity and is not broken. I didn’t test it, but I believe it’s in good working condition. Please view photos for more details.

THIS IS IN EXCELLENT COSMETIC CONDITION. ALL TRANSFORMERS ARE GOOD. IT USES 4 6BQ5, 3 12AX7 AND A 6CA4 RECTIFIER. SHOULD BE RECAPPED BEFORE USING. ALL TUBES ARE INCLUDED. WILL MAKE A GREAT WINTER PROJECT.

It has the push pull output transformer (45 triode tubes pair) connect to the speaker field coil in serial, resistance coil is about 2500 ohm ; the voice coil diameter 1 inch, 6.7 ohm. Item is tested at 150 VDC apply to the field coil, strong magnetic field, the speaker is working good, the sound is great, sweet musical analog sound. Vintage PHILCO 6V6 Mono Tube Amplifier with Control Knobs (G1706). The amplifier has been tested in the console and is confirmed to be in working condition. The tubes were evaluated using a Hickok TV-7/U tester, see below. Cosmetically, the faceplate and knobs show minor wear consistent with age but remain in excellent overall condition. The chassis is clean and well-maintained. A Philco badge is included with the unit. Please refer to the photos for a closer look at its condition. Tube test results: 6V6 – tests at 84 min. 46; 6V6 – tests at 79 min. 46; 12AX7 – tests triode 1 and 2 at 24 / 26 min. The faceplate measures 12-3/8 x 3-5/8. The chassis measures 10-3/4 x 11 x 5.25. The included badge measures 6-3/4 long.

Philco Reverb Stereo Tube Amplifier. This is a project that I started and just don’t have the time to see it the rest of the way through. Super cool vintage reverb tube amp. There are 3 sections, the preamp/ amplifier, the reverb amplifier and the reverb tank. Everything works as it should. Both amplifiers have been rebuilt with new capacitors and solid state rectifiers in place of the rectifier tubes for reliability. Film and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced. This would make an awesome amplifier in a custom enclosure ore just leave it open! There’s nothing like adding your own analog reverb to a classic rock song! But the knobs are in ok shape.
