Vintage HEATHKIT A-9C Mono Tube Amplifier Untested No Bottom Plate Tubes & Cord. The power cord has been cut and some parts have been removed (not by me). There is NO bottom plate underneath the device so the wiring is exposed. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out.
This particular tube tests very strong, although it’s not the most balanced tube. Often square-getter Mullards are associated with mC1 production codes, and the halo-getter tubes with f91 and later codes. Oddly though, this particular tube has an f91 code AND a square-getter. The f91 code on this tube is Extremely faint, and is almost impossible to see with a naked eye even under good light (and even more difficult to photograph, but I think I managed to barely capture it with a back-light enough to sort-of see it’s faint outline). The print on the tube is very fragile and will easily rub off, some has already rubbed off, special care was taken not to rub off any more while testing. The tube’s test results are displayed in the photos (New 12AX7 Spec 100% = 1,600 Gm). See the photos for physical / cosmetic condition. Part of the design is a little springy shock absorber the keeps the tube safely centered in the box and from rattling around. Notes Regarding Tube Tests. All tubes are tested on an Amplitrex AT-1000 tester in the automatic Fixed Bias Mode (for the most conservative results). Test Results are for a general reference only, and are not a guarantee of performance, nor a guarantee of how they will test on your tester. No real world (audio) performance measurements are taken.
Offered for sale are the 3 tubes as titled and pictured. These particular 3 tubes tests strong and are closely balanced / matched. The tubes’ test results are displayed in the photos (New 5751 Spec 100% = 1,200 Gm). Note: Even though this tube is often considered interchangeable with the 12AX7, the 5751 does have a bit less gain than a 12AX7, so the test results displayed are the actual Amplitrex specs for the 5751. Also, these tubes are labeled Westinghouse and there are no other EIA codes or numbers on them. So far, these boxes are still just a concept and in the prototype stage (3D Printed). Any and constructive feedback on the idea is welcomed and appreciated. Eventually I plan to offer these boxes for sale by. Themselves, but not quite yet. Up for sale here is this huge. Power transformer, dated 1957 and Made in USA. This was removed from a vintage Raytheon Microtherm heat radiation machine. I tested this, and with a 120v input (terminals 1/2) I tested the secondaries at 1460v (#4/5), 2910v (#4/6), 1460v (#5/6), and 360v (#3/4). Transformers usually test a little high when they’re not loaded, but these are still crazy high voltages. This is a massive transformer, so it should be good for plenty of current. This is used with light to moderate overall wear, and looks really good. It is guaranteed to work for you. This has some great specs and would be awesome for building something crazy.
