Case is worn and beat up, as you can see in above pictures. Amp has some rust in spots. Wires from amp to speakers will need replaced. Tested amp and got static out of both speakers, but have not tested it past that. Please see above pictures for condition. Comes from a smoke free home. So Collins made some of the best sounding tube equipment from the late 1940s through the early 60s and this Collins 12Z is evidence of that. The build quality of this surpasses most other American makers of the time and rivals the German equipment made by Telefunken, EAB, and others of the same period. The 12Z is so overbuilt right down to the machined aluminum knobs. It is packed with transformers made by Thordarson, and attenuators by Daven. It is four inputs with a single output and will run on AC or batteries. All the transformers are. Good, it should be looked over by a tech to make sure all the caps are 100% before being used. Up for sale folks is a vintage RCA tube amplifier with built in turntable. It appears be be a fairly nice unit, and to my understanding is like a very high quality portable stereo system. The amp is an MI-12218-B. The record player built into the top cover is an MI-4833-A. The amp uses two 6V6 output tubes, three metal 6J7 tubes, and a single 5Y3G. The turntable appears to have one speed only and most likely is just 78RPM. The tonearm is Astatic SL-8 with a ceramic cartridge. The center adapter for the platter is missing, and will have to retrofit a piece to fit. I have NOT tested any aspect of this unit, and as it is a vintage tube amplifier, it should have the tubes checked and brought up on a variac. It appears to be complete and all original, with no modifications. This uses a specialty AC adapter that plugs into the front to power the unit. The plug and cord is included but is missing the two prong adapter on the end. This has been sitting for many, many years so will need to be completely restored. It has an inch of dust and dirt on it. There is some light corrosion on top of the metal case and sides. In addition, the chassis is not so perfect, with some surface rust from storage.
