Here is a super Stromberg Carlson AU57 amplifier complete with all tubes. Every tube is a vintage RCA and tests great. One of the 6L6GC tubes test good, but is weaker than the other. (2) – RCA 6L6GC. (2) – RCA 12AX&. (4) – RCA 12AU&. (1) – RCA 5Y3. (1) – RCA 6X4. The amplifier is tested and works very well. I started to recap some of the amplifier and just ran out of time. Included is a complete recap kit. Also, a picture of the schematic with capacitor locations which make it easy to install new caps. That should bring this unit to 100%. After the great reaction to the Little Mark Vintage Head, Markbass designed the Mark Vintage Pre. The Mark Vintage Pre delivers a massively wide palette of tone options, from modern sounds to vintage ones to fit pretty much any genre you’re going for. But this pedal is more than just a preamp. You get a tube preamp, a 4-band EQ, two switchable EQ filters, two different types of drive with level and blend controls, a headphone practice amp with an AUX-in and headphone out, and a switchable effects loop which can also be used as a tuner output. Got these tubes with several others in a lot that were clearly New Old Stock and appear to have never been installed! All 4 of these tubes feature the same top “Gf8″ code and the bottom codes are Delta8xx / Delta9xx which indicates they are from 1968/69 and manufactured by Philips. In this particular case they were branded for Honeywell. This set tests as NOS+ and is nicely balanced! Also the print is Extremely fragile and will easily rub off, much has already rubbed off, but special care was taken not to rub off any more while testing. This is a very unique and well designed Tube Amplifier. It appears to have a built-in preamplifier that rests on the top and plugs into the amp via a cable and a tube. After scouring the internet, I turned up nothing and couldn’t find any amps with a similar design. The quality is very good, leading me to believe it must have been made by a company as opposed to an individual, but there are no makers marks or model numbers anywhere on it. One of the large “coke bottle” tubes is missing and as such I haven’t tested it. It will need that tube replaced and may need some capacitors replaced as well from age but I don’t know.
