Vintage 1965 Harmony H303B “Widowmaker” amp in good working condition. Amp has been fully serviced with Nichicon capacitors, 3 prong power cable wired in correct polarity no shocks! , and a replacement Jensen speaker from 1999. Still has a full compliment of vintage tubes. This amp still has the original grill cloth and rear back panel and is in good shape. Shows some typical wear including snags and discoloration in the grill cloth, wear to the original tolex, and wear to the original leather handle, but overall well taken care of. Was used with a vintage Aloha pedal steel and wasn’t beat on or abused. No smoke or pet odors. Shows normal signs of use and wear for an amp of its age, but overall a really cool little amplifier that works great and has had the right work done to it to keep it running for the next few decades and to prevent any nasty shocks that earned it the Widowmaker namesake. I have completely gone through the amp and recapped the entire power supply and replaced all the tubes with new or NOS parts. It originally had the old school screw on mic connectors but I have replaced them with locking neutrik parts for 1/4 input. This is about a 30 watt amp using two 6L6 tubes. I built a cabinet for it out of two old 15 Baldwin organ speakers and it gets plenty loud. Anything over about 2/3 volume starts to get muddy. It has a single knob for the tone control. Speaker impedance is changed with the terminals on the back. I did not modify the circuit from stock, I just replaced anything that had failed or was close to failing and changed the input jacks. Up for sale here is this nice vintage Heathkit A-7 mono tube amplifier. This is in really good shape, with light wear. I recapped this, taking the can cap out of the circuit and replacing it with individual electrolytic capacitors underneath the chassis, as well as replacing all the other capacitors except the ceramic disk caps, which are fine. This has some nice vintage US tubes in it, specifically: two RCA 12A6 output tubes (1942). I did not swap any of them out. There are several varieties of the Heathkit A-7. This is the one that uses 12A6 tubes. You cannot swap in 12V6 tubes without altering the circuit. Also, some of the A-7 amps have an extra tube on the right side, but this does not–there is no socket, just a hole there. The original can capacitor is out of the circuit, but has been left here for looks. Its phenolic mount is cracked underneath, but this won’t affect anything. The two knobs on the ends stick out further than the one in the middle, which is just how this is made. This is tested and plays well and sounds good. This is a neat little amp, and you can enjoy this as a mono amp, find another for a stereo pair, or rebuild this for guitar amp use. This is in good working order and needs nothing. For sale is an extremely rare RCA MI-9377-A that has been recapped. Tubes are very old and the bases are loose. I’ll include them but expect that you’ll need to replace them. Unit does have some scrapes and nicks, but is in remarkable shape for its age. As you can see from the photos, the chassis is very clean. Please review the photos carefully. I make no guarantees about performance. I sell mostly vintage electronics. As such, these items are old and typically out of spec from when they were new. Up for sale here is this vintage Stromberg-Carlson AU34 tube amplifier. This is an interesting one. It was recapped/rebuilt by a previous owner, so it has some new caps and new power resistors, and some nice Sprague Black Beauty caps. I brought it up on a Variac and it does play well and sounds fairly good. The rebuild work is fairly good but this does have holes in the top of the chassis–I think there are supposed to be metal covers over these, but I’m not sure. Physical condition is fairly good but this does have a moderate amount of wear and rust overall, and is missing the feet, handle, screws for the cage, and one bottom screw. On the plus side, this has the schematic on the underside of the bottom panel, and both the cage and bottom are included. This has the original knobs as well, which could use a good cleaning. This includes all the tubes–1 6N7, 1 6SF5, 1 6SJ7, 1 5U4GB, and 2 6L6GC (GE). I tested the 6L6GC tubes, and one tested at 93 and the other test at 100 but tested positive for shorts and grid emissions. This is on my B&K 747B, on a scale of 0-120 where 65 is minimum good. These still work right now but you may want to replace them. I didn’t test any of the other tubes. This has 3 separate inputs on the side–an RCA jack, a screw-on microphone jack, and 2 screw terminals. All inputs seem to work fine. This has a bunch of output options on the back, and has a 1/4 jack hanging out of the back as well. I tested this using that jack and it does play and work fine. You might want to clean up the work on this, and just clean it up in general. These are supposed to make good guitar amps, and this would make an awesome “rat rod” amp. It’s been sitting on a shelf for a while, and deserves some love. Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask.
