Tuesday, August 17th, 2021For sale, is the mighty rare and glorious sounding 1210 “Rock” Head by Park! To my ears, this is one of the best sounding amps of all time. It has a Vox or Hiwatt-like “sparkle” or “glitz” that the Marshalls don’t have. Lately gone through, this thing is unquestionably ready to go. All tubes are with plenty of life. This one has the green tolex, which strongly appears black. There is very faint scuffing on the front. Any defects are illustrated loudly in photos. Ships in non-original Big Deal road case, which is a perfect fit. Tubes: P: 4x Siemens EL34 Pre: 3x Pro/Comm 12AX7A Transformers: T100 Drake 1471-263 DE T4145 100W MVS Super Park Rock Head Z566 From the History of Marshall: In the late 70′s Marshall legend Steve Grindrod was let loose from coffee duty and came up with some classic new designs. One such beast was the aptly named Rock Head (model 1210), which was developed out of the 2150 100 watt combo. Whereas the 2150 was a watered-down version of what Steve had originally envisaged at the request of one of Marshall’s distributors, the Park had no such strings attached and was a phenomenal amplifier by any standards, especially those of the time. An all valve design, it had two channels, which could be cascaded together or foot switched, and a unique master volume circuit that determined the clip point of the power amp rather then the preamp, for that distinctive smooth valve sound at any playing level. Its a 100 watt Marshall that goes from JMP/JCM800 to modified Superlead. Some of our customers are famous musicians in Basque or Spanish. Valid for bass and guitar. Old Vintage tone Marshall: awesome crunch and very well for use with pedals. Superbass was the model of amp wich Malcolm Young of AC/DC used and vintage bass tube amps are very loved for stoner musicians around the world. Specifications: # 4 EL34 TUBE TOWN (Svetlana) power amp tubes # 3 12ax7 SOVTEK # 4 inputs valid for join two by two # Impedance selector (4,8,16 ohm) # Two outputs to cabinet In very good condition with some signs of use. This amp was probably made to USA market because was designed to 6550 (usual in USA, Zakk Wylde for example). Probably for this it has a cabinet from period after (original Marshall but 78-81 era which fits perfectly without problems). Other reason can be this period was Marshall transition period. It has a 78-81 period Marshall input transformer. It was done tech service in November of 2019 with new power tubes. VINTAGE LEGEND AMP ROCK N ROLL 50 COMBO TUBE AMPLIFIER 2×12 CELESTION SPEAKERS
Sunday, December 22nd, 2019Mint Condition amazing top-rated amp! 1981 Legend Rock “N” Roll 50 Combo Amplifier. Made in upstate New York from 1975 to 1984. Check out comments below from the Marshall Forum.. This is a very scarce 2×12 combo-amp model. Rola Celestion G12-80 speakers (1777 – lead guitar cones). Solid oak cabinet with cane grill (like early MESA/Boogie amps). Amazing vintage rock sound – Great amp & bulletproof! Tube pre-amp section (triple 12AX7′s) with a solid state power section. There is no hum, buzz or noise of any kind, a totally silent amplifier. Legend RnR 50 was the only guitar amp used in the studio on ZZ Top’s Eliminator album, as verified on the Telecaster Forum by Terry Manning the sound engineer who worked it. We had great fun playing it in our warehouse, but weren’t able to stand the volume past 3… Checked out A+ by Bemis Amps in SD they were brave enough to turn it all the way up! No Issues at very low apartment-use-levels all the way through to extreme high volume. Some say a Marshall / Fender tone. Original foot switch & owners book. Can deliver by car in so. Here are some posts from the Marshall Forum. ” several volume controls – Master & Pre-amp on the front, plus Color Gain and Presence controls, THEN, there are two volume controls on the back “. They went to 2 extra rear-panel volumes. Could get a lot of distortion at low volume (or even more distortion with a loop jumper). Legend’s SS power amp section responds very much like a typical tube power amp. Just another great and unique thing about this wonderful combo amp. The [Legend] amps have a lot of gain and you have to spend a little time to get a tone you like. The Legend is a lot like an early 60′s Hiwatt. The electrolytic caps were Nichicon/Rubicon. At the time, the best caps in the world. The power & standby switches were British — the same ones Marshall used. ” their voicing was more hot-rodded Marshall “. The 212 with its extra volume knobs was better at low volumes but also sounded much better at high volume. From what the founder has said, I gather that the R’n’R had some minor circuit changes during its run, besides the obvious addition of the extra rear panel volume controls. I think that’s why user reviews vary so much — the amps themselves varied. The founder said the power output spec was under-rated and the output section was nowhere near clipping at rated output. A big part of why the Legends had the reputation of being as loud as similarly rated tube amps. It may have been the G12-80. Both how it responded to sub-watt inputs, and because it was so efficient that I could barely crack open the volume knobs at sub-eviction levels. Never had the chance to dime any of them (Legend amps). With all the volume knobs at 7 they kept up with a cranked [Ampeg] SVT. They are great rock and roll amps. If you can find one with the original Celestions and play rock and roll, get one. They are handmade and were very expensive when new. One of the secrets on these is to run a patch cord between the effects loop, which has it’s own attenuator. Love the Legend, killer back-up amp, crazy loud… Great clean or dirty… ” It lites-up the “G” “B” and high “E strings like no other amp has, and even gives me a real good broken up Clean sound. This thing is Flat out hot Classic Rock & Roll. Never had a problem. Well, I had to clean the pots about three times in 27 years… The item “VINTAGE LEGEND AMP ROCK N ROLL 50 COMBO TUBE AMPLIFIER 2×12 CELESTION SPEAKERS” is in sale since Tuesday, October 15, 2019. 1980s Peavey Rock Master Vintage Tube Series 120w Amp Head
Saturday, December 14th, 20191980s Peavey Rock Master Vintage Tube Series 120w Amp Head. Tolex is great only real flaw is the top grill screw holes has chipping (see photo). I had her rewired and the fuses replaced with higher quality. The tubes are what were in it when i acquired it. They still have plenty of bite left, but I would suggest replacing them as they are a mixed bag, with some RCA 6L6s and the 12AX7s are a mixture of original Peavey and Bugeras. This amp is a screamer. Comparable to the classic Marshall JCM800. Original foot switch is included. I have this amp listed elsewhere as well as locally. I reserve the right to end this listing upon its sale elsewhere. I pack safe and secure. This is a rare, hard to find gem of a tube head. Do your research, read the blogs and reviews. Lowball offers will be quickly rejected. I know what its worth. The item “1980s Peavey Rock Master Vintage Tube Series 120w Amp Head” is in sale since Monday, November 18, 2019.
