Unit will come with Printed copies of the Service manual all SKU’s, parts list, trouble shooting tips ect. And Sherwood S5000 User/Operation/Setup Manual with Diagrams and full Operating Specs. Included Excellent Condition Original Metal Cabinet, Bottom Panel and all original knobs. This unit is In working and excellent sonic condition. Fully tested after restoration for 20hours Stereo&Mono all Line Level channels with CD player&Cassette Player/Aux, TV & Tape input and also tested both High-Level and Low-Level Phono Channels with a Phillips 312/Stanton EE980 cart. Quad is white inked “Made in Germany” “7320/E84L”. Then Red ink “ERP” “79-22″. This quad have solid disk top-side getter with a center dimple and were either made in East Germany or made by Reflector in Sartov, USSR to Russian military specs for export. 5x 12AX7/A’s 3 are Mullard inked’Great Britain’ 1965′I63′ 2x’B5J4”B5K2′ inked’Made in Great Britain’ branded for GE. The 4th is a late 1960′s’IE’ GE 7025/12AX7A(best inserted in V1-for low noise phono amplifier tube) and the 5th is a GE 12AX7A dated 1964. All tubes tested balanced and strong. 2x 7199 vintage 1960′s Black Plate USA tested trong. One RCA(early 1960′s) and one Westinghouse(1967). 1x5AR4/GZ34 NOS unused Sovtek(Tested very Strong NOS+ balanced plates dated 2001 Russia -High reliability tube). Notes: Our 50years+ exp. With Cabinets/Cages/Covers/Consoles enclosures : cabinets, metal cages and Console Enclosure hinder air-flow and as such your tubes will only generally last 1/2 as long. So we suggest operating this Sherwood S-5000 outside of its cabinet for daily use. We also suggest using all tube audio units in operation without covers. Additional we suggest using a high quality computer fan behind these tube type units to dissipate vacuum tube heat (just visit your local Computer repair/parts store many have fans available for low cost). In 2025 a NOS vintage tube complement(12 Premium tubes) in these units cost was as much as an unrestored unit with average/user supplied used tubes. This unit just back 05/17/2025 from a complete servicing/restoration by a Radio/HiFi/Ham Restoration Professional with 50 year Radio, HiFi Analog & Solid State restoration experience. Re-Tested all resistors and capacitors for spec’ed tolerances a Labor of Love! Replaced 2 out of tolerance resistors this unit was a quality build w/ Allen-Bradley Mil-Spec’ed High Quality resistors. Seems Sherwood used high quality parts suppliers in this model S-5000 build. I counted 28 caps changed from a few old wax and many PIO caps. Changed old caps to NOS Polyester/Mylar’EM’ CDE tone caps, Upgraded the Power output By-pass caps from 0.068 mF 400VDC 20% to 600VDC 10% to upgrade power reserves with low tolerance to potential failure going forward. Replaced AC line Chord to a new heaver duty 2-prong(Chassis is Grounded). Cleaned all Tube Sockets, Switches, Pots & Contacts with CRC QD electrical contact cleaner then Deoxit5 electrical lubricant. Pulled and replaced all Vacuum Tubes with either NOS or TV7D/U tested Strong & Balanced replacements high quality replacements. Glass tubes will be pulled and packed into a separate box, The amp will be placed inside the metal cabinet. Tubes & Tube shields will be pulled and packed well inside the a separate box. Be Patient with the Setup & Reinstallation of all the 12 VACUUM TUBES. Carefully unpack the unit and the tubes. Remove the metal cover. Insert the tubes in there proper sockets. Connect your Speakers wire pairs to the matching 16/8/4 ohm screw connectors on the back panel with Proper Phase’+’ =Red=hot connect to either 16/8/4 ohm back panel screw and the other wire to’-’=White or Black=COM screw on the back panel. NEVER turn on AC Power or Operate any Amp/Integrated Amp or Receiver without a pair of Speakers connected to the correct Ohm reading of the speaker. (This is called speaker loading). If you turn on any amp without speakers connected(a Load) you might damage the Output Transformers. Then connect your input devices : CD/Tape and any other Line Level device and/or your turntable to either High-level or Low level(phono cartridge) into there indicated back panel rca inputs. This wasn’t serviced as it seems to be working just fine. Without even using an external antennae the unit pulled in local stations. The cat’s eye tube is working and is very cool.

As the photos show, this vintage amplifier is very clean inside and out. All of the transformers are rust-free and the chassis is very clean as well. All of the knobs and switches are original and this amplifier has not been recapped. The face is in excellent condition with clear lettering, a bright white face, and all of the original lens covers are still in place.
