Up for sale, a 1979 Sano 300R-12 combo amplifier in exceptional condition and in perfect working order with a complete vintage tube set. Manufactured in New Jersey, Sano is a hidden gem of vintage amp manufacturing. This 2×12 300R-12 comes from the final year of Sano production, just prior to the company’s dissolution in 1980. Tonally, Sano amps are widely considered to be quite balanced, with a relatively flat EQ response, and this 300R-12 is no exception. It’s undeniably beefy and rich, with ample headroom, perfect for articulate, complex chording, and the midrange is warm and harmonically complex. The footswitchable onboard Tremolo has great depth, and the Reverb is lush and atmospheric. This 300R-12 features a dual channel, dual input design, with a polarity switch and Stereo functionality on Channel One. Simple controls include Volume, Bass, and Treble knobs for each channel, with Bass Volume and Treble Volume controls for Channel One. Additionally, there is a knob for the Reverb, with a pair of buttons to engage/disengage the Reverb on each channel, and the Tremolo has Speed and Depth controls (as well as a pair of on/off buttons for the Trem on each channel). The point-to-point circuit is extremely elegant in its construction with high quality components used throughout. The amp has been serviced by our team of techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, with the majority of the original capacitors intact, and original Centralab pots that date to the 9th week of’79. The complete vintage tube complement features a pair of GE 7591 power tubes, a Westinghouse 6CG7, and a preamp section of four GE 12AX7s and one United Electronics (also from New Jersey) 12AU7. The original pair of Fane 12 speakers are present, rated at 4 ohms, and there is a 3/79 date stamp on each frame. Only one speaker retains the original plastic magnet cover. Cosmetic touches include a Sano badge with the later’70s-era block logo, black grillcloth, white piping, and a trio of handles (one on each side and one on top). The original casters are also present. Wear is limited to a handful of faint marks and scuffs on the black tolex; the graphics on the control plate are very clean, including the central atom design, and the original knobs are all intact.

This is a great sounding amp. I believe it to be about 35W – from the 1950s made in NJ and clearly marked SANO. Condition on this is pretty impeccable, rarely do they look this good at this age. The tone – is killer. This is not your everyday Amp. Check out the video we posted – that is thru the Guitar input – almost Dimed. A nice clean cushion for any kind of music that demands it – fantastic pedal platform. The video features a 90T-Style Guitar, single coil bridge then switches to a P90 at about the 38 second mark. A picture can speak 1,000 words. Everything in the photos and description is what you will receive. And nobody wants that. If you have a resale. Please let us know prior to paying. We mostly use the US Postal Service, We also use UPS. Not all Countries are included. UPS does not deliver to P. Tracking numbers are immediately sent to you the moment the label is printed. Once paid, the item will be marked as such. If you choose to return an item, just start the return process and a label will be sent to you. RARE, ORIGINAL, WORKS GREAT! High Quality, American Made, Point-to-point wiring. This is a VINTAGE 1976 SANO SUPER NOVA STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER. Designed to be used for guitar and I suppose accordion. It is complete and functions properly. Controls and inputs have been cleaned, no scratchy pots. Everything works as it should. The cabinet covering shows light wear. The grill cloth is in great shape. This is a solid, road worthy beast; weighs 65 lbs.. Each channel has volume, treble and bass controls. The stereo channel has a second input stage with treble volume and bass volume controls. There are push buttons to engage the reverb and tremolo for each/either/both channels. Made in the U. I honestly believe I was the first person to ever open the back of this amplifier. Nothing has been touched for 44 years. Original transformers, speakers, pots, electrical components, tubes, etc. From what I can tell the amp is completely original with the exception of one of the knobs. Power amp tube lineup… 2-GE 12AU7, Westinghouse 5U4GB rectifier, 2-GE 8417 power tubes. The preamp tubes are also all original… One United Electron 6FQ7 and the balance are USA General electric 9 pins (2-12AX7′s and 2-12AU7′s or 12AT7′s). This has the original 2 prong cord. The side of the fuse holder is damaged and you should consider replacing it if/when you decide to upgrade to a grounded power cord. The speakers are original to the amplifier. Square magnet, Eminence made, 67-7548 codes, so made the 48th week of 1975. Look like they could easily handle 50 watts a piece. This is definitely a clean amp. And I’m saying clean all the way up the volume dial. The 8417 power tubes are designed for high fidelity and that is exactly what you get. Full bass, rich midrange and crystal clear highs. Serious Jazz, acoustic electric and classic country players will love this amp. I would guess it puts out 50-60 watts. Rock and rollers should also consider this amp. This would make a great foundation for pedals if you want your sound to remain constant at all volumes. The tremolo and reverb are very well designed and rival that of the best Fender, Traynor or Ampeg from the same era. That is a bargain. This item is heavy and will require extra time and care to package. I never use UPS. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Typically easy and inexpensive to maintain, you should be aware, old electronic require maintenance. Old electronic can fail at any time. We will work through the claim together until things are right. RARE 1967 Hilgen Challenger R2024 Tube Amp 112 Combo 7591 Guitar Sano Vintage

The Hilgen amps are very hard to come by as they weren’t really mass produced and were only made for three years. This one is fully serviced with no issues or weird quirks, and ready for years of enjoyment! The Challenger is an 18W all-tube point to point handwired 112 combo with two channels that each have individual volume and tone controls, with onboard reverb and tremolo. The first channel is more Fender-y and has guitar and bright inputs. The second channel is a bit richer and reminds me of vintage Ampeg (which Jack also supposedly helped with designs as they were both New Jersey companies), and has instrument and accordion inputs. All jacks and controls work as should. I replaced the electrolytic caps and one out of tolerance wax & paper capacitor with new audio grade caps. All of the original Mullard mustard caps are still intact!! I also removed the death cap and installed a grounded power supply cable for safety. I cleaned all pots, jacks, and power/rectifier tube sockets. This uses a 6X4 (reverb driver), two 12AX7, and two 12AU7 in the preamp. It also uses a pair of 7591 power tubes and a 5U4GB tube rectifier. This comes with the original CTS 12 speaker that still sounds great also! The reverb is pretty unique as it’s a shorter and slightly brighter one, although it sounds great and works really well with the circuit. The tremolo is currently in Off position and the previous owner couldn’t find the footswitch. Any standard two button footswitch with a 1/4 jack should do the trick though. Cosmetically it’s in pretty great shape for being a little over fifty years old! The original grill cloth and tolex are both fully intact and the faceplate still looks great! One of the rubber feet is partially broken off and it does show some minor wear from age though. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I will remove the power and rectifier tubes and package them separately inside the amplifier. Sano Model 160 Guitar Amp 12 Vintage Combo Tube Classic 60's NR HEAR

Here is a Sano Model 160 guitar / accordion amplifier. All tube combo, with a 12 speaker. From what I found on the internet, this amp output is at 16 watts. Features reverb and tremelo. Overall in good shape. Only real drawback I could find on this amp are the following. When using the reverb option, it starts feeding back once you go past about volume 3. I’m sure putting the reverb tank in a bag would help some, but I never got around to it. The only other thing I can fault with the amp is that the handle is very tight, and doesn’t really a whole lot slack when you pick it up. Other than that, pretty clean amp. Looks to have all the original tubes. Great for fans of : retro / old school / vintage / ampeg / new jersey / 50′s 60′s / fender / silvertone / harmony / blues / champ / deluxe / usa. This listing is for a very cool Vintage 1960′s Sano Guitar-Accordian Tube Amplifier. This is a very nice sounding amp and looks fantastic. The amp is all tube and 18 watts so it’s fairly loud and has a nice amount of clean headroom. The amp also has a killer sounding Tremolo. The amp has been serviced and is working and sounding really nicely. The speaker is a newer (non original) Jensen 12 speaker which works really nicely for electric guitar on this amp.
