Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Bassman tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in good working order. Recently serviced and complete with fresh power tubes, this Bassman works exactly as intended with the AB165 circuit. Tonally, this amp delivers the rich and powerful tones associated with the Blackface sound, and the cleans are robust and detailed. Pushing the amp past around 5 on the Volume dial of either channel begins to coax shades of overdrive out of the circuit, with moderate compression and plenty of crunch and bite when you dime the amp out. Perfect for guitar or bass, this amp truly excels when delivering sweet, sparkling cleans. The circuit is very original with stock Schumacher transformers that both date to early’67. The power supply has been recapped with high quality F&Ts, and there are a couple new Sprague Orange Drop caps in the preamp as well as a new bias cap to ensure stable voltages to the power tubes. The preamp is otherwise nearly untouched and retains all but one of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps that are an essential part of the Blackface sound. The original CTS pots are also all accounted for, dating back to mid-1966. The power cable has also been upgraded to a modern three-prong variety. Present inside the head cab, the stock tube chart is present, with a “QF” date stamp which translates to June of 1967. Cosmetically, this amp is very clean clean, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. Save for a new pair of Fender piggyback clip bars, all of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides. The faceplate shows limited wear with bold silkscreened graphics and stock witch hat knobs. The back panel is a modern replacement that matches the otherwise original tolex on the head. This Bassman is very original, professionally serviced, and recently retubed with a matched pair of JJ 6L6s. Here is a Pair of Quad II audio monoblock tube amplifiers. I replaced the cheap chinese tubes with Vintage Genalex GEC KT66 tubes which I tested on my calibrated TV7 tube tester. In addition, the amp has a RCA 5V4 rectifier and two Genalez EF86 tubes. I have included the AC wall plugs & the input and output plugs needed to get it working right away. I have replaced in each amp a resistor and an electrolytic capacitor. I ran them for several hours and they sound wonderful. They have heavy output transformers which help to make these amps sound so good. You will hear that vintage tube sound. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has a very original circuit that has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and vintage preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original, with the original Schumacher output transformer, reverb transformer, and choke, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Deluxe Reverb replacement from 1968, also manufactured by Schumacher. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a key ingredient in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps, and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, with date codes from mid-66. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms, and the preamp features a new bias cap and smaller bypass caps to ensure the amp is operating within original factory spec. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The speaker is an era-correct vintage Fender 12 driver, manufactured by Utah and featuring a clean black frame, Fender blue foil sticker on the magnet, and date code from the 3rd week of’66. The speaker also features a fresh recone, delivering a smooth, balanced sound. Cosmetically, the amp is very original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The tolex shows some light wear around the edges of the enclosure, with a couple small tears which have been glued flush and two nickel-sized holes (one on each side of the cabinet) which have been cleanly doweled with tolex on top so that they practically disappear. While the grillcloth is genuine lightly aged vintage Fender cloth, it has been re-stapled taut to the original baffle. All of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. Up for sale, a 1971 Ampeg SVT tube bass amplifier head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Ampeg debuted the Super Vacuum Tube “SVT” amplifier in the summer of 69 at the Chicago N. This amp was a milestone design, utilizing 300 watts of all-tube power specifically geared for larger venues, cementing its place in the live world as the defacto standard backline stage rig. An original Linden, New Jersey made example with blue line cosmetics, this SVT has been serviced and maintained to play its best, with rich, authoritative, articulate low end, ample warmth, and distinctly smooth Ampeg tone. This SVT boasts a new matched sextet of 6550 JJ power tubes and has been serviced as needed, with a full recap of the power supply, as well as a hard-wired three-prong power cable and 1/4 speaker cable. A fan has been mounted too, ensuring the amp doesn’t overheat with the incredible voltage of the six power tubes. The Electrical Windings Company power transformer and filament transformer have matching date codes that read the 12th week of 1971, and the original output transformer is intact as well. The original CTS pot codes date to the 51st week of 1970. Cosmetically, this amp is in great shape with original smooth black tolex and original grill cloth. The grill cloth has aged uniformly, and the tolex is in very good condition overall with some light wear around the edges and on the bottom of the enclosure. The faceplate is very clean, retaining all of the original knobs and the distinct blue line screen print graphics. A padded flight case is included. It had a recent recap and a few new tubes as needed and the power cord was replaced with a long 3 prong. 12 speaker appears to be original and the smaller Motorola is a vintage replacement. The cosmetic condition is good for its age. The logo is half missing and the faceplate has some pitting, also someone labeled the high and low channels.
