This McIntosh MC275 is in pretty good condition for it’s age. The chrome chassis is very dusty but doesn’t show pitting. But should polish up nicely with some detailed cleaning. This amp is in perfect working order with no hum. Very nice balanced OPT sound. This amp has been part of my personal system the past 10 years, but now time to let it go to a new home. I have the original manual somewhere and will be included in the sale. On that note, rest assured that it will reach you in fine condition. Power Output: Stereo or twin amplifier – 40 watts continuous per channel. Monophonic – 80 watts continuous. Harmonic Distortion: Less than 0.5% at rated output or less, 20 cycles through 20,000 cycles. Typical performance is 0.3% or less at 20 cycles and 20,000 cycles at full power. Typical performance in the mid frequencies is 0.1% or less at full power. Nice Vintage Brass Face Fisher X-1000 Stereo Tube Integrated Amplifier in Wood Cabinet. If you know this machine then you know that it is a very complex over engineered? The preamp section has a number of unusual circuits. The Aux inputs are tied directly to the Tape Monitor inputs. There is a strange Center Channel circuit. There are also 2 features called’Spacexpander’ and’Dimension’. Typically, these features are disabled or modified for modern listening usage. There is also a 9 pin socket at the rear for a remote control unit. In this particular unit the Remote Control socket has been bypassed. The 2 resistors and 2 capacitors that tie the Tape Monitor to the other Inputs have been removed to give a Tape Monitor a clear pathway past the noisy gimmicky circuitry. Line inputs into the Tape Monitor sound fantastic. Nice, quiet and clean. All of the other Inputs work but are somewhat noisy to my ears. The Power Amp works fine and the bias adjusts properly. The preamp tubes are mostly original Fisher branded Telefunkens. The output tubes are all Mullard (2 branded Tesla; 1 GE and 1 Daystrom). One of the amber jewels on the front panel has been replaced. Tested, Serviced and upgraded. It has been kept as stock as possible, with only the parts needed to perform its best being changed. Comes with Brand new Matched Quad of TAD EL34-STR REDBASE Power Tubes. Comes with two Speaker cables, Canare 4S11 with small audioquest spades on one end and Banana plugs on the other. This is a pretty well cared for ST-70 that has been serviced multiple times over the years, including just recently and sounds very nice. In addition to the TAD EL34′s it Includes 4 rather old. Other tubes include 2 GE 7199′s. Rectifier has been rewired out of circuit and replaced by solid state rectification, although the tube remains in the socket for looks and receives heater voltage to light it up. All capacitors have been updated. Coupling capacitors and others were replaced with high quality polypropylene film caps for the best sound quality possible. All filter caps have been replaced. Checked and replaced as needed. The chrome has some small pitting and small rust spots but it’s in very good shape compared to most ST-70′s. Quite a lot of solder joints were redone to keep it as trouble free as possible. Cage is in very nice shape. Vintage Magnavox 6BQ5 Stereo Amplifier in custom made wood cabinet. I was able to play a music signal through the two speaker outputs marked with blue tape on back of unit. I did hear a spontaneous noise sometimes through speakers so the amp will need some servicing.
