This is a rare Vintage Supro Valco tube guitar amplifier. The serial number is V15025. It does work but there is some static and crackling. It is also missing the volume knob, and the power switch is pushed into the chassis. The power cord does have cracking in it so that would need to be replaced. The leather handle is still intact but has the metal wire sticking out. Overall the amp is well used and will require restoration to get back to 100%. This is a very rare and neat old amplifier. MODEL 70 TUBE AMPLIFIER with TWO C12NA JENSEN SPEAKERS, THINK SUPRO, VALCO, AIRLINE. It is a combo amp with two independent 35 watt. Power amplifiers, one for each speaker. It is complete and functions properly. The controls are clean, no scratchy pots. The tube line up… Two matched pairs of Russian Sovtek 6L6′s (one pair branded Fender, the other branded Electro Harmonix), a USA RCA 12AX7 and a Russian Winged C 12AX7. It has a few dings and scuffs and some light staining of the grill cloth, but overall in exceptional condition, especially considering it is over 50 years old. There are three different tone setting that give you control of the bottom end of the tone spectrum… Guitar=light bass, Hi Bass=more bass, Low Bass=rich, thick, meaty, all-you-could-possibly-want, most bass. This amp sounds awesome. Articulate, clean power even at higher levels. 1966 Supro Model 88T, Valco Made, Vintage Tube Combo Amplifier, N. Thanks for your interest! This Supro Model 88T, also sometimes referred to as the 1688T, is in brand new and original condition, having just been removed from the original box. The Supro was delivered new to Ziegler Music in Aurora, Illinois, where it was placed in storage and never opened. After Zeigler closed in the 2000s, the amp, along with the other store stock, including many N. Guitars from the 1960s and 1970s, was placed in a storage unit until it was discovered after the owners passing by the family. I unboxed the amp, checked the tubes and the wiring, and tried it out. It works perfectly, although I did replace the cord to an updated three prong cord for safety. The new owner of this amp up for sale can leave the cord installed or re-install the old one for display, according to the intended use. Again, this Supro amp is brand new and just out of the box, and yes, the box and factory tags are included with the sale, as is the period newspaper it was packed with. This is a rare opportunity to acquire an brand new amp from the 1960s. This is a rare model, and a clean example of a classic Supro amp made by Valco. The 1688T/88T is a 2×12 amp originally made for bass, but is really a guitar amp, and is the predecessor to the more common Thunderbolt.
