Wednesday, November 17th, 2021Up for sale, a 1986 Mesa Boogie Mark III “Red Stripe” Simul-Class head and matching 4×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The third iteration of the Mark III’s evolution, this long box Mesa head features original white bronco tolex and the tell-tale red mark on the back of the chassis above the power cable noting the factory tweaks made to this particular Mesa, namely that the lead mode circuitry is almost identical to the IIC+, and some minor component substitutions in preamp also bring it closer to the IIC+. Everything from bold cleans to raw, aggressive overdrive to thick crunch is available from the Mark III with every push pull option and trick in the book for maximum versatility and tonal tweakage. The circuit is extremely original, professionally recapped with Sprague Atom filter caps as needed and retaining the original Schumacher transformers which date to’86, along with the stock fan and reverb pan. The amp is stocked with a matched quad of Sovtek 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes with five EH preamp tubes. The speaker cabinet is loaded with the original quad of Electro Voice 12L heavy duty speakers with extremely clean frames and original cones. Cosmetically, this is a clean and complete set, and the head retains all original knobs and slider tips. The white bronco tolex shows only minor wear on the enclosure edges, and the original hardware and faceplate are very well-kept. Both original footswitches are included. Fender Princeton 6G2 Vintage 1964 Tube Guitar Amplifier White Knob (very nice)
Monday, July 5th, 2021This is a very nice 1964 Fender 6G2 Princeton, serial P08161. It came from a fellow who was thinning out his collection. I’m showing it exactly as we received it. I haven’t polished it up or anything like that. It’s a little dusty but will clean up well. The trim is in great shape and all metal components are free of any significant surface-rust. The grill cloth is original and looks great except for the one hole you see in the photos. Aside from the speaker being replaced with a Fender aftermarket unit, it appears to be all original. I haven’t taken the amp out of the cabinet, but I’m assuming it still has all of the original capacitors in place. Please replace these before putting the amp into full-time service. I haven’t checked the tubes, so there’s a chance they should be replaced as well. Aside from that, this one should be good to go! If you prefer one carrier over the other, please make that request when paying for the item. Rest assured, you’ll receive your item in excellent condition! WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE SALE: You will only receive what is shown in the photographs. If you do not see it in the photos, it is likely not included in the sale. That includes manuals, packaging, power cords, accessories, and so on. ABOUT US: Our company, Ham & HiFi, is located in Sparks, NV. Almost everyone in the shop is a licensed ham operator, some of whom have been licensed for more than 50 years. White Higher Fidelity Vintage Tube Amp Fender
Friday, January 1st, 2021Well loved, early White Higher Fidelity Vintage Tube Amp by Fender. If youre not familiar, there is lots of information out there in these. Supposedly they were rebranded with a steel guitar under the name White in honor of Fenders plant manager, Forrest White. Production started in 1956 and evidence suggests they may have been produced up to 1962. Some say they were as few as 1500 of these ever produced, though its difficult to be certain as they used 2-3 different serial number conventions. Standard wear and tear from over 60 years of love. Appears all original as far as the circuit and transformers go. I dont see any codes on the speaker so its possibly a replacement, though it looks pretty old too. The handle has been replaced as so many from these amps were. Still runs and sounds great. Side noteIt does have the original back cover. I forgot to take a picture of the back with it on. Ill try and get a few more pics up soon. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas! 1964 Fender Princeton Pre-CBS Vintage Tube Amp Brownface 6G2 Tuxedo White Knob
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. This rare, transitional “tuxedo” Princeton features the Brownface 6G2 circuit with Blackface cosmetics, a pairing that only lasted a few short months. The Princeton has a tone that is very dynamic and warm, with crystalline clean tones giving way to rich, saturated overdrive as you turn up the Volume knob. The circuit is as pure and straightforward as they come, and the single Tone knob has a surprisingly wide range. The bias based tremolo circuit has a strong, dimensional pulse and particularly broad range of speeds too. The circuit retains the original pair of Schumacher transformers which date to the very first weeks of’64, and the chassis stamp dates to 1964 as well. The preamp retains a few of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps as well as a host of properly-spec’d modern tubular caps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes form the 39th week of’63. The tube compliment includes a matched pair of Tung Sol 6V6s, with a pair of Tung Sols in the preamp as well, along with a vintage RCA rectifier. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet, and the “NC” date code that translates to March of’64. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen C10R dating to the 20th week of 1964, freshly reconed and very sweet sounding. The original smooth black tolex is extremely clean with only a few minor scuffs and light edge wear, while the baffle itself has been upgraded with a solid piece of pine and aged silver sparkle grillcloth, work which appears to have been done by the late, great Larry Rodgers. All the stock hardware is present including chassis straps, sphinx glides, handle caps, and a set of original white barrel knobs. The original footswitch is included. Thursday, September 17th, 2020Up for sale, a 1984 Marshall JCM800 4104 2×12 tube amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in good working order, featuring the original nigh immaculate custom white elephant tolex. The circuit is all original, with the full compliment of Drake transformers that date to 1984, each with its original paper sticker on the transformer bell. All of the original Wima capacitors are intact in the preamp. The chassis itself is stunningly clean with very little oxidation, and the pristine nature of the amp extends to the back panel and faceplate, which has its full compliment of original knobs. The original Celestion G12M-70 speaker pair is intact, with “LR” date stamps on the frames which translate to November of 1983. The amp retains the original molded plastic feet, corners, and handle caps, as well as the large “Marshall” logo and piping on the black grillcloth. The original white elephant tolex is stunningly well-kept, and as the photos can attest, this amp would present very well in a studio environment.
