Up for sale, a 1978 Fender Deluxe Reverb in pristine, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. 100% original with an untouched circuit, stock Oxford speaker, and immaculate cosmetic appearance, this genuine vintage Deluxe Reverb even features a full compliment of original Raytheon preamp tubes, along with the original matched RCA 6V6 power tube pair and 5U4 rectifier. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the Volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It’s everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp. The circuit is original and untouched, with original Schumacher transformers that date to 1978. The preamp retains all of the original blue molded signal caps, and the power supply caps are original as well. The CTS pots date back to mid’77, and the amp is the last vintage iteration of the Deluxe with a push/pull gain boost on the Vibrato Channel Volume control. The original CTS 12 speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and the original speaker cone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet as well. Cosmetically, this amp is exceedingly clean as the photos can attest, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with pale blue stripe. The faceplate positively gleams with its near mint turquoise text and full compliment of witch hat knobs. All of the stock hardware shines like new too, with minty handle caps, chassis straps, logo, and sphinx glides (feet). The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1962 Gibson GA77 RVT Vanguard 1×15 tube amp in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced and extremely original and well-kept, this amp is in many ways Gibson’s equivalent of Fender’s Vibroverb. A two-channel affair with a freshly biased pair of 6L6 power tubes and 15 Jensen C15N driver, this Gibson offers smooth, robust clean tones with both warmth and sparkling top end clarity. Pushing the amp hard at higher volumes delivers a touch of compression and cascades into overdrive, with plenty of ambient splash provided by the spring reverb on Channel Two. The second channel also features a two-knob tremolo with a strong pulse. The trio of original transformers and choke are intact, manufactured by Triwec and Magnetic Components Inc, all dating to 1962. The circuit is hand-wired on a tag board, and the circuit has been fully recapped to ensure optimal functionality and tone. The original pots are intact, along with the full compliment of black reflector caps with red pointers, and the aluminum faceplate retains all of its original silkscreen text. The tube compliment includes a brand new pair of properly biased 6L6 JJ power tubes as well as a host of vintage preamp tubes, many of which are the stock Gibson-branded valves. The speaker is the original Jensen C15N with a clean silver frame, Jensen foil sticker on the magnet cover, and date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 47th week of 1961. The amp retains its original smooth brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth with aluminum trim. The raised plastic Gibson badge is fully intact on the amp’s face, and the stock handle is present too. There’s only light wear on the tolex, primarily on the bottom edge of the cabinet. The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1979 Music Man. 112 in excellent, original condition and perfect working order. Launched in 1975, Music Man was founded by former Fender Plant Manager Forrest White, former Fender Sales Rep Tom Walker, and Leo Fender himself, with their very first product being an amplifier known as the “Sixty Five”. Being a hybrid affair, this amp matches a solid state preamp to an all tube power section, in this case EL-34s, providing plenty of headroom, with the warmth and fullness of a tube power section that can get as gritty as you want when the tubes are cooking! Making that easier, the amp features a Hi/Lo power switch, which actually works differently than most in that it’s not a 1/2 power switch, but rather a control for how much plate voltage the power tubes see, giving you control over the clean headroom where “Lo” is similar to a typical amp, and “Hi” sends a colder bias to the tubes. Tonally, this amp is very much in Fender territory with bold, sparkley cleans and dynamic grit, and reminds us very much of a Pro Reverb with a brighter reverb and very unique tremolo, both of which are footswitchable. A two channel amp, the Sixty Five offers plenty of options for tone sculpting with both channels including Volume, Treble, Middle and Bass knobs as well as a Deep switch for filtering the low end when needed. The second channel boasts a Reverb knob, and Intensity and Speed knobs for the tremolo, as well as a Master Volume which governs both channels for achieving saturation at an appropriate volume for any given gig or studio situation. This Music Man sports the original Eminence-built, Music Man-branded, ceramic magnet speaker which has a smooth tonal response and chime that’s right at home in a Fender-style amp. The circuit is clean and essentially untouched, with original tone caps in the preamp and Schumacher transformers that date to’79. The original CTS pots date to the 41st week of 1979. The tubes are a pair of properly biased USA-made Sylvania EL-34s that have plenty of life left. Cosmetically, this amp is very clean, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. Naturally, there are a few minor scuffs and light wear on the edges of the enclosure, but overall this is a very well-kept vintage Music Man. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced early in 1965, this Blackface Princeton Reverb retains the “Pre-CBS” features typically only associated with the’64 production year, and this extremely clean and early example boasts a Fender Electrical Instrument Co. Faceplate and early no-logo cabinet! The perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions, the Princeton Reverb is a Fender amp that delivers well balanced, sparkling cleans. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. Modded by one of Nashville’s premier amp shops (aptly named “Nashville Amplifier Service”), this Princeton has incredible volume and an extra gain stage utilizing a 12AX7 before the phase inverter, which has been swapped for a 12AU7. The tone is clean, clean, clean and positively huge, with a bass response and fullness that belies the amp’s modest stature. Here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, we typically strive to offer the most original and vintage-correct amps, but this particular Princeton was so well modded and the work so purposefully done to achieve an impressive tone, that we’ve elected to leave all of Nashville Amplifier Service’s work intact. The chassis itself is very clean with the original power transformer and choke that date to early 1965, while the replaced Deluxe Reverb output transformer dates to 1969. The circuit retains the original CTS pots which also date to’65, along with the tube chart which has an “OF” date stamp that translates to June of 1965. The power tubes are a pair of modern Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes which sound great with great richness and detail, while the preamp tubes are a combination of vintage and newer valves. The original faceplate is notably clean and retains all of the original black skirted knobs. As the photos show, the original black tolex is remarkably clean, with oonly light wear on the bottom edges of the enclosure. Both of the original back panels are intact and the stock grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the thread with only light aging. A two-button Fender footswitch is included.
