Vintage McIntosh Mc240 Stereo Amplifier. This 240 Amp is recently restored by professional including a full set of old stock US made tubes. All capacitors have been replaced with those of equal or higher specifications. Electrolytics are Panasonic brand caps. RCA jacks were replaced with gold plated teflon units. There is a known issue with this AMP : one channel seems to be louder than another. I think it may need to further tested and fixed. Other than that, this AMP is in working condition. My price is reflecting this issue. A good bit of “patina” and signs of age as shown in the pictures. The MC-240 has a unique design that makes it much easier to live with than many other tube amps, old and new. Due to a special transformer design, no bias setting is necessary. It is also not a requirement to used matched pairs or quads. A perfect choice for someone new to tube amps, or a veteran that is sick of tweaky unreliable tube power. However, please know that this is a vintage item. It is not a brand new machine. All sales are final. The item “Vintage McIntosh MC240 Stereo Amplifier Working Please Read” is in sale since Friday, December 6, 2019. This item is in the category “Consumer Electronics\Vintage Electronics\Vintage Audio & Video\Vintage Amplifiers & Tube Amps”. The seller is “kaoticfury1998″ and is located in Woodinville, Washington. Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel tweed amp is one of the nicer golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop. With its narrow panel configuration, this Princeton is considered the “big box” version, with a cab that’s far larger than the single 8 alnico speaker requires, and the resulting sound is deceptively round and rich for the relatively small speaker size. Complete with the original Victoria Luggage canvas cover, this amp is a remarkable find with well-preserved tweed. Actually a pairing of two different tweed-era Princetons, the exceedingly clean cabinet with original lacquered tweed, leather handle, logo, oxblood grill, and tube chart dates to 1956, while the chassis itself has components dating from late 1959-early 60. The circuit couldn’t be more simple and pure, with single Volume and Tone knobs and a Class A circuit design, powered by a single 6V6 power tube. The tone is articulate, dynamic and commanding, with the sizzle and churning overdrive of a Champ, but with more tonal range and fuller low end. The top end response is just right, and the amp doesn’t get too trebly, making the tone control quite usable for dialing in exactly as much zing and snap as you desire. The circuit is completely untouched, and the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 44th week of’59 (output) and 12th week of 1960 (power). The original Stackpole pots, yellow Astron capacitors, and even the original filter caps are all present. As a testament to the construction of these amps, it has never needed to be serviced. The power tube and 5Y3 rectifier are both Sylvania valves, while the single 12AX7 in the preamp was manufactured by Tung Sol. The original two-prong gray power cable has been upgraded to a black, grounded three-prong. The speaker has a very clean gray frame, original cone, and stock cloth wiring harness with RCA end. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners and clearly written serial number. There is light ambering of the tweed, with a few exceedingly minor marks and scuffs, and wear mostly relegated to the bottom corners of the enclosure. On the bottom, there is some staining from the rubber feet in a ring around the sphinx glides. The faceplate is very clean, with all of the white silkscreened font, shiny chrome, and a pair of original chicken head knobs. This amp is a true rarity, given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. The original brown canvas Victoria Luggage cover is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Mint Condition amazing top-rated amp! 1981 Legend Rock “N” Roll 50 Combo Amplifier. Made in upstate New York from 1975 to 1984. Check out comments below from the Marshall Forum.. This is a very scarce 2×12 combo-amp model. Rola Celestion G12-80 speakers (1777 – lead guitar cones). Solid oak cabinet with cane grill (like early MESA/Boogie amps). Amazing vintage rock sound – Great amp & bulletproof! Tube pre-amp section (triple 12AX7′s) with a solid state power section. There is no hum, buzz or noise of any kind, a totally silent amplifier. Legend RnR 50 was the only guitar amp used in the studio on ZZ Top’s Eliminator album, as verified on the Telecaster Forum by Terry Manning the sound engineer who worked it. We had great fun playing it in our warehouse, but weren’t able to stand the volume past 3… Checked out A+ by Bemis Amps in SD they were brave enough to turn it all the way up! No Issues at very low apartment-use-levels all the way through to extreme high volume. Some say a Marshall / Fender tone. Original foot switch & owners book. Can deliver by car in so. Here are some posts from the Marshall Forum. ” several volume controls – Master & Pre-amp on the front, plus Color Gain and Presence controls, THEN, there are two volume controls on the back “. They went to 2 extra rear-panel volumes. Could get a lot of distortion at low volume (or even more distortion with a loop jumper). Legend’s SS power amp section responds very much like a typical tube power amp. Just another great and unique thing about this wonderful combo amp. The [Legend] amps have a lot of gain and you have to spend a little time to get a tone you like. The Legend is a lot like an early 60′s Hiwatt. The electrolytic caps were Nichicon/Rubicon. At the time, the best caps in the world. The power & standby switches were British — the same ones Marshall used. ” their voicing was more hot-rodded Marshall “. The 212 with its extra volume knobs was better at low volumes but also sounded much better at high volume. From what the founder has said, I gather that the R’n’R had some minor circuit changes during its run, besides the obvious addition of the extra rear panel volume controls. I think that’s why user reviews vary so much — the amps themselves varied. The founder said the power output spec was under-rated and the output section was nowhere near clipping at rated output. A big part of why the Legends had the reputation of being as loud as similarly rated tube amps. It may have been the G12-80. Both how it responded to sub-watt inputs, and because it was so efficient that I could barely crack open the volume knobs at sub-eviction levels. Never had the chance to dime any of them (Legend amps). With all the volume knobs at 7 they kept up with a cranked [Ampeg] SVT. They are great rock and roll amps. If you can find one with the original Celestions and play rock and roll, get one. They are handmade and were very expensive when new. One of the secrets on these is to run a patch cord between the effects loop, which has it’s own attenuator. Love the Legend, killer back-up amp, crazy loud… Great clean or dirty… ” It lites-up the “G” “B” and high “E strings like no other amp has, and even gives me a real good broken up Clean sound. This thing is Flat out hot Classic Rock & Roll. Never had a problem. Well, I had to clean the pots about three times in 27 years… The item “VINTAGE LEGEND AMP ROCK N ROLL 50 COMBO TUBE AMPLIFIER 2×12 CELESTION SPEAKERS” is in sale since Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Up for sale, a 1978 Marshall JMP 2204 Master Model 50w Mk II Lead vintage tube amplifier head, freshly serviced and sporting the original fawn tolex. Produced in the proverbial “sweet spot” for late’70s Master Model JMPs, this 2204 features cascading preamp gain and the kind of rich, muscly, ripping textures synonymous with AC/DC’s renaissance. At 50 watts, the amp has plenty of power and crunch, and the Master Volume is an infinitely usable tool for creating natural sounding drive at a variety of volumes. Conversely, turning the Master to 10 and dialing in the Preamp Volume to taste yields more Plexi-like textures. The EL-34 power tubes are Marshall’s signature valve of choice and have ample sizzle and headroom, and this amp is fitted with a brand new properly biased pair from Electro Harmonix. As the back panel of the amp can attest, numerous mods were removed and cleanly plugged. The chart on the chassis has a handwritten January, 1978 test date. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a faceplate that retains all of the original black silkscreen lettering and a full compliment of original knobs. The original fawn tolex shows plenty of scuffs and minor tears, yet the large Marshall logo on the face of the amp is fully intact. All of the original piping is present too, along with the original plastic corners and feet. A new vintage-spec handle has been installed. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! From rockstargear4u, this Mesa Boogie Mark II in good condition! Awesome pre-owned, vintage (1980), all-tube, guitar amp head. The reverb circuit makes some noise (common to this model). Otherwise everything works perfectly. There is a scratch on the faceplate and some snags in the grill cloth. Otherwise just the usual marks here and there from normal use. Looks good and sounds amazing. All the vintage Mesa tone you’d expect. Comes with footswitch and power cord. Shop like a ROCKSTAR!
