Extremely Rare Brook 12A Amp WECO pat. The cord is frayed, missing tubes. The RCA tube is loose at bottom so probably needs to be replaced. Vintage Eico HF-86 tube power amplifier in good overall working and looking condition. Powered up slowly and it sounded good with no hum and had equal levels. Power tubes are EL84-6BQ5-7189 and were tested to be good. From a recent estate sale, past owner was a smoker so it is dirty from years of exposure. While working, it should be checked over by a tech to use on a continuing basis. Nice and desirable tube type amp for your collection. The fine item you are considering is a Vintage Silvertone Reverberation Twin Twelve 1474 Tube Guitar Amplifier Amp With Footswitch. This neat vintage amp just came out of long storage, so its still a bit dusty despite my cleaning, and when I powered it up, it took a long time to stop clicking and popping, but it eventually did settle down, and it works! The tremolo is working, but the reverb is not, and the reverb tank is loose in the cabinet, although still connected by wires. While the amp is working, it really needs to be gone through, with the contacts, pots and tube sockets cleaned, and the sound Im getting out of the amp, while very Jack White is pretty thin and crunchy and sounds like there are some tubes in there that are having some issues, so some tubes may need to be replaced. I know theres a big argument about replacing caps and the old style two prong plug thats still on this amp, and thats up to the new owner, but I will say that all the popping and clicking Im hearing on power up and for a few minutes afterward are most likely dry caps that need to be replaced. What I believe is the original footswitch is also included, although the ¼ phono plug has been cut off the end of the jack. The power on light is not lighting and the amp shows plenty of typical cosmetic wear, which gives it a very authentic vintage look, and the amp makes a nice overall cosmetic impression. Oh, also, the amp does not have a back cover and comes just as it is in my photos. The amp measures approximately 29 long by 19 ½ tall by 9 deep and both 12 speakers are working. Since this is a vintage amp with very old components and tubes I cannot guarantee that it may not need parts replaced as per my description above. POWER SUPPLY:Upgraded with new heavy duty soft-fast recovery diodes and new bias rectifier bridge, and bias electrolytic caps. Upgraded critical resistors to spec voltages, Bias adjusted to -19 vdc. Normal residual ripples within specs. Current in-rush limiter enclosed. Line suppression safety caps replaced. Filter electrolitics reformed to spec, no residual ripples. FM & IF Stages: FISHER tubes selected for spec Gm, long life, no gas or micro-phonics. Tube specs in folder with manuals. All small electrolitics replaced with modern high quality components. This was followed by a fine fm &if alignment with high quality laboratory equipment , resulting in high sensitivity: 1.4 uV in the -20 dB quieting test, better than spec. Signal strength in meter is 4.5/5 with simple fm antennae. MULTIPLEX DECODER:New Tung-sol 12AX7′s tubes. Audio path capacitors replaced as well as the electrolytic cap. The decoder stage was fine-tuned with a Fisher 300 multiplex generator (specially designed to service this stage) obtaining an excellent overall separation of 35 dB. AUDIO STAGE: New Tung-Sol 12ax7 tubes. NEW matched quad of Tung-sol 7591 Power Tubes, matched by trans-conductance and idle current. All small electrolytic, mustard caps and some ceramic disc replaced with high quality caps. Loudness and filter networks recapped. Coupling caps replaced with PIO (paper in oil) and orange drop caps. Audio caps replaced with polypropylene Power grids upgrade installed. Results: Excellent sine, square and triangular signal output. NO hum, dead silent receiver & amp. Max total audio pwr 78 wt rms, Rt&lft ch max pwr 39 wts. Total Harmonic distortion (THD)plus noise measured at rt ch=0.1%, lft ch 0.1%. Frequency response +/- 1 dB 20 hz to 20 khz both ch. IMD plus noise(inter-modulation distortion) 0.2%. All actual post restoration measurements. Fender Studio Bass Combo Amp. Is in good working order. Includes adjustments for volume, master volume, treble, bass, presence as well as a 5 band EQ. Cosmetic flaws worth noting include. Main power toggle is broken, although still operable. Power indicator light bulb is burned out. Some areas show heavy cosmetic damage to tolex, mostly on the back side.
