The fine item you are considering is a Vintage Alamo 2×10 Combo Tube Guitar Amplifier Amp. This cool vintage Alamo tube amp sports a pair of 6V6s for power tubes, and two original 10 speakers. The amp is basically working but it has some issues, these being that while the normal channel works perfectly and sounds fantastic at higher volumes (great break up and very spanky) the Vibrato channel looks to have what I think is a bad pot, which is very crackly (loud crackles when turned) and isnt allowing the volume to be as loud as it should be. Also, it doesnt appear that the vibrato effect is functioning. One of the paper cones on one speaker is torn, but I cant hear it effecting the sound, and otherwise the amp shows typical wear from age and use, but makes a great vintage appearance. The amp measures 23 long and has a nice chrome front plate. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item. Up for grabs is this original vintage 1962 Fender Tremolux tube head. As in many cases, the head has been separated from the original piggy back cabinet. Overall, the head is in good condition, but has had some modifications. The Tremolux still has all of the original transformers/chokes, which date this amp to 1962. The filter and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, but the original caps will be included in the sale. The handle has also been replaced with a new OEM brown Fender handle and the power cable has been upgraded to a 3-prong cable. The previous owner did a mod to essentially bypass the normal channel, which is not too uncommon. Most people, including myself, typically only use the bright channel anyway to take advantage of the tremolo and/or reverb when applicable. The normal channel volume knob now seems to act like a master volume for the bright channel. This amp is equipped with older RCA preamp and power tubes. The amp sounds very good as is, but can always easily be reverted back to original specs by a competent tech. These early’60s Fender amps are becoming harder to find, especially in working condition.
