Vintage Tube Amp

First off, this amp is amazing, it has been serviced. I had the caps and tremolo looked at, repaired, and 3 prong cord installed. Unfortunately, the reverb is not really working. The reverb signal is very faint. I have tried different tanks but no such luck. The tremolo is 100% and trippy as hell. It goes from vintage smooth to hard square-rhythmic chopping. WARNINGDaisy chain this amp and it WILL melt faces! The alnico CTS speaker looks original, or at least within the decade. Either way, like I said great sounding amp. A classic all tube vintage monster at a great price. Point to point, easy to access and repair, mod, whatever. Weighs around 35 pounds. The leather handle is a replacement. Very cool-looking little Grommes LJ-2 mono vacuum tube amplifier from mid-1950′s, sounds sweet! Supplied with full tube complement and Howard Sams Photofact Folder, this “Little Jewel” (that’s what “LJ” stands for) could use a little TLC, mainly from a full power capacitor replacement. All tubes tested good, except one section of the 6SL7 was slightly low (did not appear to affect sound). Brought up very slowly with a variac, the unit did not misbehave, and drove an 8-ohm speaker nicely with about 10 watts, just a little scratchy on the volume control. Vintage Super Rare 1964 AA864 Fender. Excellent vintage condition 19654 Fender Blackface Bassman tube amp head. Super rare un-modified original AA864 circuit only made at end of 1964. Fender Electric Instruments pre CBS. 50 watts at 4 ohms. Sounds sweet and all the gigging power you need! Chassis number A03781 (1964). Production code NL (December 1964). Tolex and grille cloth are in good condition with just age patina. Original power transformer #606 446 (46th week of 1964), choke #606-4-45 (45th week of 1964), and output transformer #606 445 45th week of 1964. The amp has recently been completely serviced with new F&T filter caps (filter cap cover has been replaced) and bias supply cap and new Sprague Atom bypass caps. Original blue Ajax coupling caps with 4 replaced with Orange Drops. Most resistors needed to be replaced as they were out of spec. New bass volume pot, new bias pot. Grounded cord for safety. Matched pair of Sovtek 5881. Two vintage RCA 12AX7 preamp tubes an ARS 7025 and Audio Classic 12AT7 driver. This amp considered to be one of the best tube or any amplifiers ever made. This particular Citation II was sent to a local shop for a complete serviced and. Has been some modification with the addition of the heat sinks in which the repair man said it is a plus. I have been using the amp for about a year and it has always been working properly as Citation II should and never had any issue. Both channels work as does the bias adjustment meter. It is in great working order producing rich clear warmth powerful tube sound of more than 60 watts each channel. Cosmetically, it is in still fairly good condition, no dent or dent, just scratches as in pictures due to age. If you do not mind the scratches, this amp is one of the best and most powerful one to have in which it will power up any speakers out there. A pristine vintage amp that’s extremely original and just given a clean bill of health from our techs, this Twin is freshly retubed with a matched quad of JJ 6L6s and lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. These tones are further complimented by a pair of original Utah 12 speakers, which have a smooth, punchy, and surprisingly articulate sound. The circuit is very original, with a virtually untouched preamp and original Schumacher transformers that date to 1974. The bias circuit has been simplified and reverted to an earlier Fender wiring scheme with a true bias pot as opposed to “bias balance” between the tubes. This provides a greater range for ensuring optimal tube life and plate voltage. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’74. The chassis has a gleaming faceplate and full compliment of original knobs.
