Vintage Original Stromberg-Carlson AR-430 Mono Tube Amplifier. This is fully working amplifier. All electrolytic and bypass caps have been replaced as well as out of spec resistors. The power cord is new. All the tubes appear to be original Carlson-Stromberg but are untested except for listening to the amplifier. The case has some scratches but the face plate and knobs are in very good condition. Original schematic is in the chassis. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been thoroughly serviced with an eye towards reliable gig and studio-worthy performance, updated to run on 6L6 power tubes for additional clean headroom and power. Boasting a new MojoTone speaker cabinet, a full complement of Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, a Sprague Atom recapped power supply, TRS effects loop, and reconed vintage Fender/Oxford speaker, this particular Deluxe bridges the gap in tonal richness and modern functionality between a genuine vintage example and Fender’s recent Custom Shop’64 model. Stocked with a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Black Panel era, a perfect platform for a host of effects pedals. Turning up past 5 on the Volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of bark and body. The Reverb is lush with long decay, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit boasts Mercury Magnetics Tone Clone transformers, the same high-quality USA-made iron that Fender uses for their highest tier Custom Shop amps. These transformers are extremely reliable and tonally rich, utilizing the same premium materials and techniques that make the originals so revered. The preamp is extremely original with cloth covered leads on the eyelet board, the original set of CTS pots which have visible date codes from the 13th week of’66, and the majority of the blue molded Ajax capacitors, central to the sweet, musical character of the Black Panel amps. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Oxford 12L6 ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1965. The speaker has a clean frame and Fender foil label on the magnet, recently reconed for optimal reliability and life, and broken in enough to not sound stiff. The cabinet is a brand new vintage reissue courtesy of MojoTone, crafted of solid finger-jointed pine with a 100% void-free baltic birch baffle. This cabinet sounds lively and is a perfect match for the Deluxe Reverb’s vintage aesthetics, with smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, aged in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The amp retains much of its original hardware including handle caps, chassis straps, and the raised Fender logo on the grill. The original faceplate retains its full set of witch hat knobs, and this amp is the perfect marriage of modern performance and genuine 1960s vintage Fender tonal purity. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bandmaster in exceptional condition and in good working order. This 40 watt Blackface Fender powerhouse has the powerful, balanced cleans and smooth tube overdrive at high volumes that you expect from a vintage Fender from this era. The cleans are warm and articulate, with Fender’s sparkly top end and the ability to dial in just the right amount of grit and light tube compression. The circuit is 100% original save for a new bias cap and modern three-prong power cable The preamp retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical sound of the Blackface circuits, and the original Schumacher transformers all date to 1965. The CTS pots have late’65 date codes, and the tube chart rounds out the applicable dates with a “OI” stamp that translates to September of 1965. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still viable. The cabinet is stocked with the original pair of Oxford 12L6 12 speakers with immaculate black frames, original cones, and clean date stamps from the 10th week of’65. All of the original fiberglass sound dampening sheets are intact inside the cabinet too. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are extremely well-kept, with only light darkening of the grillcloth and zero snags. Both the head and cabinet retain their original raised “Fender” logos and all of the original hardware is intact including the nickel corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, and Pat. Pending chrome tilt-back legs. You simply won’t find a better vintage Blackface Fender at this price point, and the Bandmaster truly delivers on the promise of the AB763 circuit, with incredible cleans, smooth overdrive and strong tremolo! Fork is in excellent working condition. Up for sale here is this vintage Altec 353A tube amplifier. This came from a local tube guy, and is in fairly decent shape from the front, but the back has some rust. Here are some things to note. Face and knobs have moderate wear, some light corrosion, should clean up fairly well. Case has moderate wear, some minor corrosion. Knobs are all there and are in fairly nice shape. Light rust on transformers, mostly on sides. Tubes are NOT included, sorry. The 6L6s had mostly been cracked over time, so I tossed them. Cord is attached and seems fine. Circuitry appears to be all original. Rear panel has a lot of rust. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. This is a really rare amp–don’t miss it! Please see my pictures for details.
