Marshall Lead 12 Watt Combo Guitar Amplifier for parts or repair. The pots were scratchy and tried to pull off the knobs to clean them and one of the shafts from the pot came off. I never did clean the scratchy pots. The Marshall Lead 12 is a highly regarded 12 watt solid state amplifier produced between 1984 and 1991 as part of the JCM800 series. Despite its compact size and transistor-based design, it is famous for capturing the “Marshall growl” and iconic British overdrive usually associated with larger tube amps. Description: Vintage Admiral 5T4A mono-block tube amp with a push-pull pair of 6BQ5 / EL84 output tubes. Solid platform for a low-watt guitar amp build or recording amp. Strong transformers and a clean push-pull EL84 layout make this an excellent foundation for a great-sounding low-watt guitar amp. Powers up and plays well with strong, clean output. Serviced in the past (electrolytic & coupling capacitors replaced). See under-chassis photos for details. Push-pull EL84 / 6BQ5 output stage. Console pull / mono block format. For Guitar Use: Great candidate for a custom build. As with most console amps, you’ll likely want to modify the input, tone controls, and grounding depending on your setup.
