Aims VTB-120 Personalized Bass Sound System. AIMS VTB-120 1970s Bass/Guitar Tube Amp – 120 watts – Made in the USA. I have not tested the unit. Just powered it up & cleaned the switches. Unit powers up & tubes are all apparently functioning. The unit shows signs of use, and powers up. That being said, due to the age of this device & the uncertain nature of vintage electronics. They were built in Arizona. The man who designed them was named Lee Dominguez and he owned a music store called Arizona Music. The store is still there, but it has changed hands and has a different name. The amp tech that works at the store, Bob Olsen, has worked at the store since 1960 and he was involved every step of the way in the development of AIMS amps. Dominguez never worked for Fender, but he did work with Fender in developing their reverb tanks and also on a guitar instructional book. Note: this is NOT the later VT issue. Overall excellent cosmetic condition and extremely clean. Tolex and grill cloth are perfect–no tears or snags. Note: as pictured, the vinyl knob covers are missing on 5 of the 9 knobs; and there is some very minor oxidation on chrome parts. Includes an original 4-button Automixer footswitch with 14′ cable in perfect working condition despite some cosmetic scratches and a missing cap on the Combiner switch. All 4 switches (Selector, Combiner, Reverb, Tremelo) operate exactly as detailed in the manual. This amp is all original as it sits. And in excellent over all condition, especially for a old classic American amp from Fullerton California. Condition: Used, lots of wear from age. Dings in tolex, surface rust, dirt etc. (be sure to look at images closely). I bought this as part of a group of gear from an estate. Heres a new YOUTUBE demo of the actual amp for sale. Great sounding vintage Traynor tube head. Lots of people mod these but i like them as is. They are right up there in power and performance with Marshalls of the same era. I owned and gigged with a twin combo version of this for years. Has reverb and tremelo. Has some cosmetic wear but still very well taken care of for a 40 plus year old amp. All pots cleaned and function well… But no tubes replaced. Well built amp all Handwired.
