VINTAGE CHALLENGER AUDIO TUBE AMPLIFIER CHA20 very rare amp. This came from a local estate and I do not know anything about it. It appears in good condition, I would assume it may need some tubes or a possible rebuild. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
For sale is an Audio Research Dual 75A factory upgraded from a Dual 51 Chassis. This upgrade must have been done back in the 70s as the tubes are all US made, not USSR/Russia like in most ARC gear. The cost of these tubes alone would be likely half the total cost of the amplifier if you were to replace them.
Since the late 1950′s, engineers at Audio Research have been aware of these problems. To achieve low distortion under the dynamics of music, Audio Research has investigated many approaches to amplifier design, including the conventional bipolar transistor, FET, V-FET, Class D (switching), tube and various combinations of each.
