Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Bassman head and matching 2×12 cab loaded with stock Jensen C12N speakers and complete with a host of vintage RCA and Telefunken tubes. This fully serviced vintage Blackface Fender amp is a true AA165 circuit Bassman with a Pre-CBS “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate and early’65 date codes. For clarity, warmth, and headroom, this Bassman excels at delivering sweet and articulate Fender clean tones. Once you reach about 5 on the volume dial, the circuit starts to overdrive smoothly and compress a bit, for a raw, thick sound that’s perfect for guitar or bass. It’s a simple and pure vintage Fender “piggyback” head and cab setup that provides a perfect platform for effect pedals, and is ready for stage and studio use. Arguably the circuit available for the briefest period of time in the Blackface era, the AA165 circuit designation is seen on many tube charts (Leo Fender was never one to waste anything), but under the hood, the actual AA165 circuit was only seen for a few months in early’65 before transitioning to the AB15 that would be seen through 1968. The circuit retains all of the original transformers which all date to the first weeks of 1965 along with the CTS pots and chassis stamp. All of the original blue molded Ajax caps are present in the preamp and the amp has just been professionally recapped with new filter and bypass caps as necessary to keep the amp operating in tip-top shape. On the inside of the head cabinet, the original tube chart is present with a “OD” date stamp which translates to April of 1965. The amp is fitted with a modern three-prong cable. The tubes consist of a pair of vintage RCA 6L6GC power tubes, along with a trio of RCA 12AX7s and a Telefunken 12AT7 phase inverter tube. The power tubes are properly biased and sound particularly lush and hi-fi, and the Telefunken has a distinct tightness and headroom. The speaker cab is loaded with a pair of original Jensen C12N speakers, and these 12 drivers are arguably the most desirable speakers for the Blackface Bassman. These speakers are detailed, clear, and well balanced, overdriving with very rich and balanced overtones. The frames are very clean, the original gold Jensen labels are present, and both speakers have their original cones. Cosmetically, this is a clean and well cared for Bassman with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth on both the head and speaker cabinet. There are only a few requisite scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosures, and this amp would look great in a studio collection. All of the original hardware is present, including the tilt-back chrome legs, nickel corners, handles, sphinx glides (feet), and Fender logos. The faceplate is also quite clean and complete with original witch hat knobs. There’s a bit of light patina on the hardware as well as faint aging of the grillcloth on the head in particular, but that’s about the extent of any wear! This Bassman is clean, complete, and works exactly as intended for delivering powerful Fender cleans and thick overdriven textures. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. 1965 Fender Princeton Blackface Non-Reverb Vintage Tube Amplifier Pre-CBS

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Princeton in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Clean, complete, and original, this vintage Blackface Fender was produced very early in 1965, with most components dating to the first weeks of that year, firmly placing this Princeton at the tail end of the “Pre-CBS” era. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is 100% original, with stock transformers and the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps in the preamp that are instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface amps. The chassis stamp dates to’65, and the visible date codes on the stock Stackpole pots are from the 2nd week of that year as well. The tubes are all vintage and sound great, with a pair of Peavey branded 6V6 power tubes, an RCA rectifier, and Hungarian 12AX7s in the preamp. The original transformers were manufactured by Schumacher (606 prefix on the date codes), with an output transformer that dates to the 2nd week of 1965, and a power transformer that dates to the 8th week of the same year. The tube chart is mostly intact, with an “OH” date stamp that translates to August of’65. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q with the stock wiring harness with the Fender “F” on the 1/4 plug. The hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is clean, with four stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are present, with moderate aging of the grillcloth and one notable spot of wear on the right top edge. This amp has clearly been well cared for since new, and delivers a sound worthy of the Blackface name! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1971 Fender Bandmaster Reverb BF mod blackface vintage tube amp head TL5005D

This is a 1971 Fender Bandmaster Reverb. The normal channel is blackfaced. It is the perfect pedal platform. Crystal cleans until about half volume then slowly adds a little dirt as you turn it up. The reverb channel has a few mods that make it great for just plugging straight in and rocking. This channel has an added master volume, the mid pot was changed to provide more mids and the channel has a slightly higher gain structure. Reverb and tremolo sound marvelous. I used the amp with a AB box switching channels for dirty and clean. Included are some of the original parts from repairs over the years and the thumb screws for attaching the head to a cabinet. Good tubes with very few hours on them. Newer J&J 12ax7 & 6L6, brand new NOS JAN Phillips 12at7, Russian made Fender 5u4gb. 1965 Fender Showman Vintage Blackface Piggyback Tube Amp, Tone Ring Cab JBL D140

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Showman in excellent condition, complete with the matching 1×15 “Tone Ring” piggyback speaker cabinet! The Showman was Fender’s flagship tube amp in’65, and the Blackface circuit delivers incredible clean power and headroom, with a sweet sounding, versatile preamp. This particular Showman boasts a fresh matched quad of Sovtek 6L6 power tubes and has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. From full, tight bass to Fender sparkle and chime on the top end, this is an extremely tonally balanced amp, with plenty of mids on tap as well and strong tremolo. One very unique and desirable feature of the Showman is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This large 1×15 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone with a stock JBL D140F speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This elegant design makes the Showman cab work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. Plus it just looks so darn impressive! The speaker cabinet retains all of its original fiberglass sound dampening sheets and the D140F sounds incredible with the original cone stamped 29675. The circuit retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface tone, and the amp is completely stock under the hood with the exception of a recap of the power supply and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the Schumacher transformers have 1965 date codes which match the codes on the chassis stamp, tube chart and CTS pots. The tube chart is complete and intact with a clear “OK” date stamp, which translates to November of 1965. This amp sports the original smooth black tolex which is in remarkable shape, showing only minor scuffs and light wear along a couple of the back edges on the cab. Both the head and cab have new silver sparkle grillcloth that has been lightly aged in-house. All of the hardware is intact as well including chrome pat. Pending tilt back legs, piggyback clip bars, handles, corners and raised metal Fender logos on both the head and speaker cabinet. There are a few tiny screw holes on the righthand side of the cab from where casters were once mounted to orient the cab vertically. This vintage Blackface Fender Showman is clean and complete. A testament to the enduring popularity, great tone and reliability of vintage Fender amps! Delivering 85 clean, all tube Fender watts through a JBL D140F, this amp is ideal for guitar, bass or your favorite Fender Rhodes or combo organ. Vintage 1967 Fender Blackface Twin Reverb 2X12 Guitar Combo Tube Amp Amplifier

Vintage 1967 Fender Blackface Twin Reverb 2X12 Guitar Combo Tube Amp Amplifier. The Twin Reverb is arguably one of the most recognizable amplifiers to ever leave the Fender factory. When this amp walked through the door here at Tone House we knew it was something special from the second we flipped the standby switch. The “Twin” has been part of some of rock and rolls most notable moments including The Beatles final rooftop performance as well as being a sidekick to SRV during his’85 Japan tour and beyond. With so much new technology in the amp and guitar world it is nice to plug into this iconic vintage Twin and remind ourselves why we fell in love with gear in the first place! Era of Fender amplifiers from 1963 to 1967, the amps had black faceplates, black tolex covering on the cabinet, and neutral to slightly amber tinted silver sparkle grill cloth with a small ribbed rectangular pattern. The Twin now had an onboard spring reverb. Tank and was renamed the Twin Reverb. The Fender Twin Reverb is considered a standard model for players seeking a clean sound, and it is especially known for the quality of its built-in spring reverb. This 1967 Fender Twin Reverb is showing some cosmetic wear due to its age. Parts of the tolex have been torn and there is a 14 piece missing from the bottom edge on the back that is exposing part of the wooden chassis. The baffle has some fraying and tears. For being 40+ years old this amp has stood the test of time and has plenty of stories left to tell! Features: 4 ARS 6L6GC. The item pictured is the one you will be receiving. 1965 Fender Bandmaster blackface AB763 vintage amplifier in good cosmetic and working condition. This is been used in my smoke free home studio only – never gigged. The vintage Fender tone that comes out of this amplifier is pure bliss. It’s quiet, all knobs move smoothly… The only noticeable scar is on the faceplate by the eq section of the normal channel. I added the back panel with a exact hand made replica as the original was missing at the time I got the amp. It has all the original blue molded caps and all date codes are correct… Brand new power Ruby tubes were just installed. These are becoming collectible and this one is not going to disappoint. The vibrato has a very slight tick, barley noticeable, but wanted to be upfront. Here is a chance to own a real point to point vintage Fender tube amplifier. The filter caps have been updated at some point. A newer single button footswitch is included. A heavy duty 3 prong cord was added prior to me owning the amp. Please ask any questions that you may have as I want you to be sure you’re getting exactly what is being described. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Bassman tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in good working order. Recently serviced and complete with a pair of Wing C Svetlana power tubes, this Bassman is very clean and works exactly as intended with the AB165 circuit. Tonally, this amp delivers the rich and powerful tones associated with the Blackface sound, and the cleans are robust and detailed. Pushing the amp past around 5 on the Volume dial of either channel begins to coax shades of overdrive out of the circuit, with moderate compression and plenty of crunch and bite when you dime the amp out. Perfect for guitar or bass, this amp truly excels when delivering sweet, sparkling cleans. The circuit is very original with stock Schumacher transformers that date between the 12th and 20th weeks of’66. The power amp has been recapped and the amp features new bypass caps as well, while the preamp retains virtually all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps that are an essential part of the Blackface sound. The preamp tubes consist of a newer tubes, with a pair of vintage Wing C Svetlana 6L6 power tubes that have been properly biased and sound great. Present inside the head cab, the stock tube chart is mostly intact. While the tube chart touts the “AA” version of the Bassman circuit, the amp is wired for the “AB” configuration, which is extremely common in 1965-66, as the AA circuit was short lived and Fender used up all their remaining tube chart stock. Cosmetically, this amp is very clean as the photos show, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome piggyback clip bars, chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides. The faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. Since the addition of the reverb effect into the Fender circuit essentially adds another gain stage, the non-reverb Deluxe really stands out as Fender’s premier 1×12 Blackface combo amp, with incredible warmth, EQ balance, and clarity. Perfect as a platform for pedals and an ideal amp for studio use, this Deluxe captures the quintessential Fender clean sound, with smooth tube overdrive and a hint of compression at higher volumes. The tremolo has a strong, even pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit has been freshly serviced, with new F&T filter caps sleeved in the original cardboard tubes and a largely original preamp that retains the famed blue Ajax tone caps which are essential to the sweet, musical Blackface sound. All of the original Schumacher transformers date to 1965 along with the original CTS pots. A three-prong power cable has been installed and the amp boasts a fresh pair of 6V6 power tubes, as well as a host of newer preamp tubes. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen C12Q which has recently been professionally reconed. The speaker has a clean black frame and small blue foil Jensen label on the ceramic magnet. The original tube chart is intact and, with an “OI” date code that translates to September of 1965. Cosmetically, this amp has clearly been on the road for years and seen countless stages. Despite heavy use, the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact! The stock baffle is still viable, and all of the original hardware is intact including the raised Fender logo, handle, and sphinx glides (feet).
