Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Showman in excellent condition, complete with the matching 1×15 “Tone Ring” piggyback speaker cabinet! The Showman was Fender’s flagship tube amp in’65, and the Blackface circuit delivers incredible clean power and headroom, with a sweet sounding, versatile preamp. This particular Showman boasts a fresh matched quad of Sovtek 6L6 power tubes and has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. From full, tight bass to Fender sparkle and chime on the top end, this is an extremely tonally balanced amp, with plenty of mids on tap as well and strong tremolo. One very unique and desirable feature of the Showman is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This large 1×15 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone with a stock JBL D140F speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This elegant design makes the Showman cab work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. Plus it just looks so darn impressive! The speaker cabinet retains all of its original fiberglass sound dampening sheets and the D140F sounds incredible with the original cone stamped 29675. The circuit retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface tone, and the amp is completely stock under the hood with the exception of a recap of the power supply and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the Schumacher transformers have 1965 date codes which match the codes on the chassis stamp, tube chart and CTS pots. The tube chart is complete and intact with a clear “OK” date stamp, which translates to November of 1965. This amp sports the original smooth black tolex which is in remarkable shape, showing only minor scuffs and light wear along a couple of the back edges on the cab. Both the head and cab have new silver sparkle grillcloth that has been lightly aged in-house. All of the hardware is intact as well including chrome pat. Pending tilt back legs, piggyback clip bars, handles, corners and raised metal Fender logos on both the head and speaker cabinet. There are a few tiny screw holes on the righthand side of the cab from where casters were once mounted to orient the cab vertically. This vintage Blackface Fender Showman is clean and complete. A testament to the enduring popularity, great tone and reliability of vintage Fender amps! Delivering 85 clean, all tube Fender watts through a JBL D140F, this amp is ideal for guitar, bass or your favorite Fender Rhodes or combo organ. 1965 Fender Bandmaster blackface AB763 vintage amplifier in good cosmetic and working condition. This is been used in my smoke free home studio only – never gigged. The vintage Fender tone that comes out of this amplifier is pure bliss. It’s quiet, all knobs move smoothly… The only noticeable scar is on the faceplate by the eq section of the normal channel. I added the back panel with a exact hand made replica as the original was missing at the time I got the amp. It has all the original blue molded caps and all date codes are correct… Brand new power Ruby tubes were just installed. These are becoming collectible and this one is not going to disappoint. The vibrato has a very slight tick, barley noticeable, but wanted to be upfront. Here is a chance to own a real point to point vintage Fender tube amplifier. The filter caps have been updated at some point. A newer single button footswitch is included. A heavy duty 3 prong cord was added prior to me owning the amp. Please ask any questions that you may have as I want you to be sure you’re getting exactly what is being described. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Bassman tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in good working order. Recently serviced and complete with a pair of Wing C Svetlana power tubes, this Bassman is very clean and works exactly as intended with the AB165 circuit. Tonally, this amp delivers the rich and powerful tones associated with the Blackface sound, and the cleans are robust and detailed. Pushing the amp past around 5 on the Volume dial of either channel begins to coax shades of overdrive out of the circuit, with moderate compression and plenty of crunch and bite when you dime the amp out. Perfect for guitar or bass, this amp truly excels when delivering sweet, sparkling cleans. The circuit is very original with stock Schumacher transformers that date between the 12th and 20th weeks of’66. The power amp has been recapped and the amp features new bypass caps as well, while the preamp retains virtually all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps that are an essential part of the Blackface sound. The preamp tubes consist of a newer tubes, with a pair of vintage Wing C Svetlana 6L6 power tubes that have been properly biased and sound great. Present inside the head cab, the stock tube chart is mostly intact. While the tube chart touts the “AA” version of the Bassman circuit, the amp is wired for the “AB” configuration, which is extremely common in 1965-66, as the AA circuit was short lived and Fender used up all their remaining tube chart stock. Cosmetically, this amp is very clean as the photos show, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome piggyback clip bars, chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides. The faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. 1963 Fender Tremolux Blackface Blonde Vintage Piggyback Tube Amplifier Pre-CBS

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Tremolux in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This is one of the earliest Fender amps to boast a Blackface circuit, and the transitional cosmetics also reflect this amp’s early production run, with smooth blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth! Powered by a pair of NOS RCA 6L6GC power tubes, these vintage USA made valves deliver a sweetness, power, and harmonically rich overdrive at high volumes. Of course the real draw of the Tremolux is its ability to produce those shimmering Fender cleans with rich, balanced tones that work great with a host of effect pedals. The tremolo has a nice, deep pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very original, and has been properly maintained with the highest quality components. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (a huge part of the Blackface sound), in addition to the original pots and cloth wiring. The main filter caps and smaller bypass caps have been replaced with a combination of factory spec Sprauge Atoms and F&T capacitors. All of the original Schumacher transformers are intact, and date to fairly early in’63, and the serial number on the chassis is notable for its very early number, A002XX! The speakers are a pair of era correct Jensen C10Q speakers that sound fantastic with great punch, warmth, and clarity. The speakers date from later in’66, yet are the right wattage and style of speaker seen in a Blackface Tremolux and are a great match for this amp. The tube chart is unfortunately mostly gone from inside the head cabinet, and this is a fairly common occurrence, but thankfully all other date codes on the amp are legible. The original smooth blonde tolex is intact on both the head and the speaker cab, along with the original wheat grillcloth, which has been bleached almost white by decades of exposure to the sun and has some light staining as well. The cabinet has its stock pat. Pending tilt-back legs and piggyback inserts, while the head has the corresponding piggyback clip bars. Both logos on the head and cab are original, and the early Blackface faceplate features the original black skirted witch hat knobs. Overall, this is a very clean and well cared for Tremolux, and the blonde tolex is in truly remarkable shape. Aside from light surface rust on the hardware, a few light scuffs on the enclosures, and some wear along the edges of the faceplate, there’s truly very little to mention about this classic, Pre-CBS Fender amp! Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order. Very clean and well maintained, this Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, smooth EQ and present, sparkly Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin Reverb. The top end chimes and twangs without being brittle, and the low end has fullness without being too overbearing; it’s as classic and pure a design as Leo Fender ever created! The circuit has been thoroughly serviced and features all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, along with all of the stock CTS pots and cloth wiring. A number of the resistors have been swapped with newer metal film two watt resistors known for their clarity and low noise floor, and the main filter caps have been replaced with high quality Sprague Atoms to guarantee years of future trouble-free use. The power tubes are a quad of vintage JAN/Phillips 5881/6L6WGBs and the preamp tubes are mostly vintage valves as well, with a couple RCAs and a Mullard in addition to a few new Groove Tubes 12AX7s. The original output transformer, reverb transformer, choke are stock, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Twin transformer from the’70s and it is otherwise identical to the original. The speakers are a pair of era-correct Jensen C12Ns, with clean black frames and original brown and gold foil stickers on the magnets. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the wiring harness is partially original, with new leads going to each speaker. The dates on the edges of the speaker frames are from the 19th week of 1969. The tube chart is intact, with a “QB” date code which translates to February of 1967. The original black tolex is particularly clean, with only a few very small scuffs. The grillcloth has been professionally replaced and lightly aged to have a genuine vintage look, and the baffle has been upgraded from the stock MDF to a piece of solid pine for better overall tone and durability. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides and handle. The faceplate is in great shape as well, retaining all of the original black witch hat knobs. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
