Up for sale is an excellent original condition McIntosh MC-275 Stereo Tube Amp. It has been in my collection more than 30 years since I bought it from the original owner in Chicago. I have used it from time to time with many different speakers. It comes with four vintage Sylvania 6550 tubes and Telefunken 12AX7, 12AU7, USA Made 12BH7 miniature tubes. Four Sylvania 6550 tubes are vintage new tubes. Each pair of these is almost matched and strong by Hickok 539C and TV-7 tube tester. There has been no modification done to this amp as seen in the photos. It is in original stock condition. All electrolytic capacitors are measured fine without any leak or dried up. Also it comes with a genuine McIntosh factory tube cage. It still plays and produces an excellent sound, however. Up for sale here is this rare vintage Knight KB-85 tube amplifier. This normally runs 4 EL37 output tubes, two 5AR4 (GZ-34) rectifier tubes, two 12AX7 tubes, and two EF86 tubes. This includes two 12AX7s, two EF86s, four 5881 output tubes, but no 5AR4s, sorry. The EF86s and 12AX7s are untested but will probably work fine, but the 5881s are pretty worn-out and will need replacing. The two metal tube covers are included. This is in great shape with light to moderate overall wear, with absolutely beautiful chrome. The extremely rare top cage/cover is included. It has the Knight badge on one side. The cover does have some rust on it, but since the top part of the cover is removable it would be pretty easy to sand down and repaint it. This is currently in non-working condition. Other than the tubes, this appears to be completely original–the previous owner told me that this blew the fuse at least 30+ years ago and was just set aside at the time. VINTAGE McINTOSH MC240 TWO-CHANNEL TUBE AMPLIFIER. Last used regularly nearly fifteen years ago, this superb stereo amp was replaced when my then new, low efficiency speakers needed a larger amp. When recently brought on-line again (slowly, with a variable power supply, because of the caps) it again sounded great. But now I have moved and must sell it. This is a vintage unit, original and not mint. However, it is in very fine condition (examine pics carefully). There are some fine scratches on the chrome but no rust and no notable damage to the black paint. As can be seen in the pics, the printing is clear and in fine state. This is especially made evident in the photo of the back of the unit. The lettering on the front, with all the connectors, is crisp. The latter, having not been used in a while, could use a good cleaning. The bottom plate does have some scuff marks. This is a very fine looking example of this audiophile quality amplifier. Also, this Mc240 comes with the McIntosh tube cage, which comes up to about the top of the transformers and is in excellent condition. I have had the unit for over 25 years. During that time, it has never been rebuilt or modified, except for tube swaps. To my knowledge the same is true for the period before I bought it from the original owner. This MC240 has 4 6L6GC output power tubes and the usual 12AX7, 12AU7, and 12BH7 drivers. The unit is already wrapped, has been placed into a wooden crate, which in turn is in a heavy-weight, corrugated container with ample cushioning. Tubes have been removed, wrapped, and labeled so as to minimize physical shock during transport.
