This is a VINTAGE 1969 DRIP EDGE FENDER TWIN REVERB TUBE GUITAR AMP with ORIGINAL JBL D120F SPEAKERS. IT WAS RECENTLY MODDED TO BLACKFACE SPECS. It is complete and functions properly. Controls and inputs have been cleaned, no scratchy pots. Completely serviced, everything works as it should. The cabinet covering and grill show wear. This is a solid, road worthy beast. Channel 1 controls are volume, treble, middle, bass, bright switch. Channel 2 controls are volume, bass, mid, treble, reverb, speed, intensity, bright switch. Original faceplate, knobs, footswitch, grill cloth, tolex, drip edge trim, hardware, speakers, paperwork, transformers, etc. Original power cord, but replaced plug. Made in the U. The tube chart has this as a AB763 circuit but it was actually a AC568 model, as confirmed by the schematic and my amp tech. Take note of the multi voltage selector switch on the back. The factory addition of a multi-voltage power transformer makes for a very rare model indeed. But notice the selector knob is missing. Set at (American standard) 117 volt, 60 cycle. Transformer codes are as follows… 022889 606915, 022699 606-9-12, 022746 606917. Not all the potentiometer codes are legible, but here is a list of the ones I can read… 137 6834, 137 6618, 137 6913, 137 6840, 137 6916. All the codes are correct for this vintage and components are assumed to be original. The supply cap pan has service dates… The smaller nine pin tubes include 2 made in the USA, all others are imports. It has a matched quad of Sovtek 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are original to the amplifier. They have most likely been re-coned, as they no longer have the aluminum dust caps. Aesthetically this may be a concern for some, but audibly it is an improvement; eliminates a bit of the bright JBL sizzle and provides a slightly darker blackface tone. Deep and rich, just as it should be. The’JBL’ logo on the lower right grill is a replacement. This began life with an AC568 bias section. I have owned this amp for 8-12 years. I have many nice tube amps, but play mostly acoustic guitar. I have a friend (certified Fender & Peavey amp tech) who has serviced many of my amps over the years. When I took this amp to have serviced, he suggested I blackface this amp since it was too similar to my other. It was a great idea and although this amp sounds better than the 1970, I really do not need two Twins. I hate to see it go. IT IS AN AWESOME AMPLIFIER. Arguably the best amplifier Leo Fender ever designed. This LOUD, CLASSIC, TONE MONSTER is ready to give it’s next owner joy and pleasure. (and possible hearing loss). That is a bargain. This item is heavy and will require extra time and care to package. I never use UPS. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Typically easy and inexpensive to maintain, you should be aware, old electronic require maintenance. Old electronic can fail at any time. We will work through the claim together until things are right. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Bassman head with accompanying tall 2×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This fully serviced vintage Fender head has transitional “drip edge” aluminum trim and an early Silverface faceplate. Recently retubed and biased with a pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the circuit has been “Blackfaced” and reverted to the original and most revered AA864 design. The amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic tone, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit features the original power transformer and choke produced by Fender’s primary vintage transformer supplier, Schumacher, while the output transformer is a vintage-spec replacement, also Fender-branded and produced by Schumacher. The circuit features a professional recap of the power supply with new Sprague Atoms, as well as a new bias capacitor and a few new caps in the preamp to ensure everything is operating within original factory spec. All of the original CTS pots are intact, dating as far back as early’68. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a stunning Silverface faceplate, turquoise lettering, and original black witch hat knobs. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet. The cabinet is loaded with the original pair of Utah-made Fender-branded speakers with immaculate black frames, original cones, and clean orange and silver foil labels on the ceramic magnets. The cab is 100% stock and sounds great, perfectly amplifying the bold, round cleans and smooth drive of the Blackfaced AA864 Bassman circuit. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact on the head as well. The stock corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. The piggyback clip bars are present too, but do not connect to this vertical cab configuration. Cosmetically, the head and cab show some minor scuffs and edge wear, but as the photos can attest, this vintage Fender presents very well. Freshly retubed and recapped and reverted to the coveted AA864 Bassman circuit, this vintage Bassman head and 2×12 cab delivers the goods in an imposing, gig-worthy package. 1968 Fender Vibro Champ Drip Edge Vintage Class A Tube Amp with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Vibro Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order with transitional cosmetic features. One of the first Silverface-era Fender amps produced, this Vibro Champ features “Drip Edge, Black Line” cosmetics, with aluminum trim framing the grillcloth and slender vertical black lines on the faceplate. Under the hood the circuit is identical to Fender’s Blackface amps of just a few months prior, and the Vibro Champ’s five watt Class A circuit delivers clear, chiming cleans and raucous, sizzling drive with a twist of the Volume knob. The Vibrato has a nice pulse and chop too, and this amp is a studio and apartment-friendly combo that delivers a dynamic, sparkling vintage Fender sound. The circuit is largely untouched, with original transformers that date to the first weeks of’68, and CTS pots that date back to 1966. All of the original pots are intact save one, and the preamp only has a few new capacitors as necessary to keep the amp functioning optimally. The tube compliment includes a modern Grooves Tubes 6V6 power tube, with a vintage Jan/Phillips 5Y3 rectifier and pair of modern preamp tubes. The speaker is a modern 8 replacement courtesy of Weber, and the ceramic magnet keeps the low end tighter and fuller than the stock speaker. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe is intact, and the grill features both the transitional aluminum trim and small tail-less Fender logo only seen on the very first Silverface Fender amps. The grillcloth shows light uniform aging, and all of the original hardware is intact with modest surface patina including the handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet). The enclosure shows only one notable divot on the top edge adjacent to one of the chassis straps. 1969 Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge Tube Head Amplifier – Vintage. Here is an early example of a Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge. This Fender Bassman exhibits some minor cosmetic wear and small scratches on the faceplate but is in good condition overall. There is not a lot of wear on the Tolex like other heads of this age you see on the market. The Fender Bassman is fully functional and operates as intended. The previous owner swapped the original filter caps with 22uf 500v as well as giving it a complete set of new GT tubes. We put this amp through its paces and it sounds great and offers a ton of clean headroom! The amp has a gorgeous “bubbly” tone at it’s lower volumes but when it’s pushed, the richness begins to thicken up without getting too “fizzy”. At high volumes, a transparent overdriven tone is introduced that is great for those creamy, soloing leads. The amplifier was built with bass players in mind but is also a great head for guitar players as well, especially ones with lots of effect pedals. The item pictured is the one you will be receiving. No additional accessories included. Tone House Studios has new Guitar and Recording Studio gear being added every week! Be sure to check out our world-class. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order. Very clean and well maintained, this Twin is a unique transitional amp that still retains the Blackface era AB763 circuit and is additionally a factory upgrade model with the original pair of JBL D120 speakers. When it comes to the quintessential Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and a balanced, authoritative response perfect for guitar, pedal steel, or your Fender Rhodes piano, it’s hard to beat the Twin Reverb. The top end chimes and twangs without being brittle, and the low end has fullness without being too overbearing. It’s as classic and pure a design as Leo Fender ever created! The circuit is very original, and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with dates ranging from mid 1968-early’69. The amp features stock CTS pots, cloth wiring, carbon comp resistors, and a mostly original compliment of capacitors. The main filter caps have been replaced with high quality Sprague Atoms to guarantee years of future trouble-free use, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The power tubes are a quad of well matched modern short bottle 6L6s and the preamp tubes are all modern valves as well. The original JBL D120F speakers are both present with original labels on the alnico magnet bells as well as faint factory stamps from 1969. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the wiring harness is completely stock too, right down to the Fender “F” cap on the 1/4 pancake jack. The original tube chart is intact, noting the AB763 circuit. The original black tolex is particularly clean, with only minor scuffing and very light edge wear. The grillcloth has been professionally replaced on the original screw-in baffle, and when the grill was installed, the original aluminum drip edge trim was removed from the grill. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides and handle. The faceplate is in great shape as well, retaining all of the original black witch hat knobs. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Given the narrow voice coil gaps and weight of the JBL speakers, the speakers will also be removed and carefully packed separately for optimal safety while in transit. The speakers require no soldering to reinstall. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. The item “1969 Fender Twin Reverb Vintage 2×12 Tube Amp Silverface Drip Edge with JBL D120F” is in sale since Thursday, April 25, 2019. 1969 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp Blackface AA864 Circuit

Up for sale, an early 1969 Fender “drip edge” Vibrolux Reverb with the coveted Blackface AA864 circuit. Tonally, the amp does everything you’d expect of your favorite Vibrolux Reverb, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two 10 ceramic speakers, matched with a tube rectified 6L6 based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The speakers are a pair of era correct Oxford 10L6 10 ceramic speakers, that feature clean black frames, stock Fender blue labels and original speaker cones. These speakers have 1976 date codes, and are the correct stock factory 10s found in most Vibrolux’s of the era. The tube chart is clean and intact with crisp edges. The output transformer dates to early 1969, while the power transformer and choke date back to’68. The CTS pots date to late 1968 as well. The circuit is clean and well maintained, having been professionally recapped, with new bypass caps in the preamp as well. The brown molded tone caps are intact in the preamp, while the majority of the resistors have been swapped in favor of high quality one watt metal film resistors for the cleanest signal and lowest possible noise floor. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong cable. The power tubes are a pair of matched Mesa Boogie-branded USA made 6L6GC valves which have been properly biased, while the preamp tubes are an assortment of largely vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. Cosmetically, the amp is very well kept with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with aluminum trim. The black tolex shows sparingly little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact, including the chassis straps, corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet). The faceplate is quite minty too and the original Fender metal logo (with tail) is intact on the face of the amp. There is modest aging of the original grillcloth, but no other wear of note. As the photos show this is a clean, original, and well maintained vintage Fender! A modern Fender two-button footswitch is included.
