Vintage Tube Amp

Up for sale is an excellent original condition McIntosh MC-275 Stereo Tube Amp. It has been in my collection more than 30 years since I bought it from the original owner in Chicago. I have used it from time to time with many different speakers. It comes with four vintage Genalex KT88 tubes and Telefunken 12AX7, 12AU7 miniature tubes. The KT88 tubes are almost matched and strong measured by Hickok and TV-7 tube tester. There has been no modification done to it. It is in original stock condition. All electrolytic capacitors are measured fine without any leak or dried up. Also it comes with a genuine McIntosh factory tube cage. It still plays and produces an excellent sound, however. Harman Kardon Citation ll amplifier as pictured. Looks clean despite the paint on the transformers and. One resistor looks black. The diodes need replacing. The taped wire is connected to “test”. I put in a fresh 8amp slo-blo fuse. The selector switch/knob is smooth and has been cleaned. Original power cord looks good. Heathkit W-5M Vintage KT88 Tube Amp w/ Mullard ECC82 Peerless 16458 Transformer. The amp is very dirty, but has some good components. It contains a Peerless 16458 transformer, along with a Mullard ECC82 tube. I will note that the tube appears to be bad, as the getter flashing is nearly gone. For sale is a pair of MC-60s in good condition. They’ve certainly been enjoyed and they are not perfect, but for the most part, the chrome is free of pitting. These were used sparingly and have had service done over the years, but are still mostly original. Bottom covers have some wear and paint chips. There are also a couple of areas where the mounts are slightly tweaked. The chrome does have scratches and a rust spots, but I would consider them normal for the age. Transformers are mostly clean, but do have scratches. One has some paint overspray on it. It will come off, but I did not fully remove all of it. No dings or dents however. They worked when last used. They were used up until a few years ago, but these will need to be serviced before they are used for any amount of time. The power cords on both are frayed and will need to be replaced or shortened before anything else can be done. You will also need a pair of rectifiers and your choice of power tubes. What you see is what is included and these were the tubes that were in the unit. Please see the photos I’ve taken. I’ve done my best to cover all angles. These truly are nice amplifiers, but I want to be transparent so that there are no surprises. The amplifiers will be boxed and insured separately. They will be carefully packed and I will make sure I’ve done my part to make sure they get to you in the condition they’re in. I sell mostly vintage electronics. As such, these items are old and typically out of spec from when they were new. I do my best to test these items and make sure they work before theyre sent out, but I do not guarantee or represent that they will meet the original specifications. I may not even be able to test them, in which case assume that they dont work and possibly be surprised when they do. However, there are times where I may miss something. If that happens, I hope that you would agree that the most efficient way to take care of an issue is if you simply message me before opening a case or doing anything else.
