Vintage Tube Amp

Vtg RARE 1950′s GEC UK EL34 Power Amplifier Mullard TUBE PARTRIDGE Transformer. This is believed to be a rare hand built GEC UK EL34 power amplifier with Partridge transformers which looks to be monophonic. The voltage jumper is set to the lowest voltage of 200-210V it does not go lower. Some of the wiring under the power amp has frayed coverings but the wiring and electronics look good with no burns or damp areas. One transformer has electricians tape across the front. The power tubes look to be Mullard EL34 but they are oxidized and assumed not to work.

This particular tube tests very strong, although it’s not the most balanced tube. Often square-getter Mullards are associated with mC1 production codes, and the halo-getter tubes with f91 and later codes. Oddly though, this particular tube has an f91 code AND a square-getter. The f91 code on this tube is Extremely faint, and is almost impossible to see with a naked eye even under good light (and even more difficult to photograph, but I think I managed to barely capture it with a back-light enough to sort-of see it’s faint outline). The print on the tube is very fragile and will easily rub off, some has already rubbed off, special care was taken not to rub off any more while testing. The tube’s test results are displayed in the photos (New 12AX7 Spec 100% = 1,600 Gm). See the photos for physical / cosmetic condition. Part of the design is a little springy shock absorber the keeps the tube safely centered in the box and from rattling around. Notes Regarding Tube Tests. All tubes are tested on an Amplitrex AT-1000 tester in the automatic Fixed Bias Mode (for the most conservative results). Quad of EI Mullard EL84 6BQ5 Made in Yugoslavia Vintage 1968 Vacuum Tubes. Test good on my tester. I removed from a working Vox AC30 guitar amp I owned a number of years ago. Date codes appear to be KM4 Q(not actually a Q but a similar looking character which represents Yugoslavia) 81 which indicates Nis, Yugoslavia 1968.

This listing is for a Mullard 191 B81, 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tube. I unpacked a few of them today. I’ll be listing one more vintage Mullard because the third one was bad. This is an early Mullard. Here is a nice Eico HF-85 stereo tube preamplifier. It is in good condition for its age despite some marks on the front panel and retains all 5 of its original Mullard 12ax7a tubes. These are getting more and more rare to find and this one looks like a great candidate for refurb!

Vintage Dynaco Dynakit Stereo 70 ST-70 Amplifier Tube Amp & Cage – Mullard Tubes. Fully tested and 100% functional; this amp will provide that nice warm tube sound to your home stereo system. Tubes are all excellent. The tube complement is all Mullard – 4 x EL34, 2 x ECF82 and 1 x GZ34. The speaker posts were upgraded by the original owner to banana jacks (the right jacks exhibit some wear but nothing that affects performance). In upgrading the jacks, the 16 ohm output has been disabled. The RCAs look to have also been upgraded. Cosmetically, it is overall very good exhibiting only normal wear from over the years. Includes original cage (one screw for the cage does not match). Also includes a copy of the manual/schematic.

VINTAGE PAIR MULLARD ECC83 12AX7 AMP TUBE TUBES DATE MATCH LONG-PLATE TEST NOS BLACKBURN TUBES. Test results: 44/46 & 50/46 reference goos is 32 being the min.
