This listing is for a Pair of 2 Vintage 7591 SE Tube Amp Monoblocks, in a 3M Wollensack Revere T-1980 Reel to Reel Tape Deck. Most of the tubes are US made, but one 6EU7 is marked “Made in Great Britain” and has the characteristic seams of a Mullard tube. Prior to listing it was powered on, play was pressed and hum and static was heard from both of the built in speakers. Before you call me crazy for the list price, please read below carefully… The upgrade started with a full factory condition 60-year-old Leak Stereo 50 from my personal collection, which I decided to be giving all the best possible components that an amp can ever get. All electrolytic capacitors are changed to Rubycon Black Gate F and Elna Cerafine. 3x 47+47uF 500V Elna Cerafine. 4x 220uF 50V Black Gate F. 2x 47uF 25V Black Gate F. 4x vintage NOS Jensen Aluminium PIO coupling capacitors for the power tubes. Vintage Philips HQ caps for the preamp tubes. NOS Telefunken GZ34 / 5AR4 West Germany rectifier tube. Quartett of Mullard Blackburn Gr. Britain EL34 power tubes (3x XF3, 1x XF2). Vintage 1x Mullard Blackburn ECC83, 2x RFT Germany ECC83. Genuine WBT NextGen 0708cu banana speaker terminals. The amplifier is perfect working and with these components combines the classic British tube warmth with the focus, precision, detail, soundstaging of the best modern amps. The Black Gate, Cerafine caps work wonders in terms of supreme sound quality, controlled bass, dynamics, while the Mullard EL34 tube together with the Jensen caps provide the amplifier an authentic, palpable, lifelike sound that is hard to believe. I was finetuning the sound using a pair of JBL 4343 studio monsters. Now about the German components: The Telefunken GZ34 and the 2x RFT ECC83 are installed with a good intent, to bring some more precision and control to the sound… Not too little, not too much, just the right balance (they are needed there, believe me). With the Mullard ECC83 on the forefront, match made in heaven. Again, the components and the tubeset is not installed on the look what I found in the closet basis! I was spending weeks of listening, then tube rolling and changing components to get to this sound signature. TCC original 16+16 and 32+32 caps back along with NOS Philips 100uF 50V and put Roederstein (ERO) coupling caps, then install a quartet of NOS Siemens EL34 tubes and maybe a new production JJ G34 and off you get an instant EUR1000 off the price… And also majority of the sound magic off as well! You decide, if you like this way or the other, please let me know! Well let me tell you a story: a month ago a nice little amp, called Marantz 8B walked through my door onto the bench and with a full Black Gate upgrade now sounds better to my ears than the Leak of course talking about a couple more thousands of Euros too.. Amp is EU voltage: 210-250Volts! This is a genuine sales and thus I guarantee that what is in the pictures is exactly what you get unless if you want that EUR1000 off and all those expensive parts out… I do guarantee that you will receive a perfectly working amplifier, that is in a decent original factory visual condition (considering 60years of paint on it, obviously not sratch-free, see pictures for reference). This amazing amp works anywhere in the world, as it has a voltage selector. The prices for these amps, mine or others, will only increase in the future. They will NOT get cheaper. Mullard caps, turret board, top notch workmanship, dual bias pots,’overrated’ transformers (meaning they have been built with higher specs than really needed) etc. Recapped (this has to be done every 20 years or so, or the amp’s sound will degrade and noise will increase). It has also been revalved and biased correctly. I will include all the original caps. This amp will do ANY STYLES superbly, from Chuck Berry to Gilmour to Hendrix to Clapton to AC/DC to EVH and beyond. If crank it up and you give it a decent boost, you will hear the most roaring metal sound to be found anywhere. None of that wasp in the jar, fizzy and thin preamp distortion….. This is how a guitar would sound during the 1970′s. Crank it up and be astonished at the wonderful harmonic crunch and notes so thick you can cut with a knife. In one or two pictures it looks like theres a lot more rust than there really is, it is mainly oxidation. It looks a lot worse in the pics than it is in reality. The amp will be EXPERTLY packed. This listing is for a Vintage 1978 Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Guitar Amp with Matsushita Mullard Tubes! The two 6CA7/EL34s are Westinghouse branded, marked Japan with an O getter and have a seam on the top (very faint on one) indicating that they are Matsushita Mullards. The three 12AX7s are GE branded, marked Japan with an O getter and have a seam on the top indicating that they are also Matsushita Mullards. The serial number (8010404) indicates that it was manufactured in January 1978. Prior to listing it was tested using a cabinet and Squier Strat that we keep for testing. It played beautifully, with a huge sound and very little hum – more of a quiet hiss, really. In fair cosmetic condition, for its age and would benefit from a deep cleaning. The power transformer is mounted at a slight angle – we’re not sure why. This is the only one on the market with a premium tube set – don’t let it get away! Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution. Pair of vintage Aegis Mullard 5-10 monobloc amplifiers. For sale a pair of fully renovated Aegis Mullard 5-10 Ultra Linear monobloc amplifiers. There is definitely an advantage to have a discrete amplifier for each stereo channel – lower crosstalk, less noise and less distortion. In listening tests I find these monoblocs perform better than the Leak Stereo 20, which whilst a similar design, shares a common power supply. An article detailing the renovation of these actual units was published in Silicon Chip, October 2014. These two units, although physically different due to chassis style and output transformer orientation, are identical electronically. Both operate in Ultra Linear format with custom wound Transcendar output transformers and follow the Mullard design precisely. Input sensitivity has been adjusted to 300mV for 10W output into 8 load so a CD player can be used directly as the input source. The current set of valves are almost new no more than 100 hours use. Output: Matched quad EL84 – JJ. Driver/Phase Splitter: Matched pair ECC83 with matched triode sections – JJ. Input: Matched pair EF86 – selected for low noise – Haltron. Rectifiers: EZ81 – JJ. The performance in all aspects is as good as or better than the Mullard specification. Please refer to the pictures, the article mentioned above and the Q&A at the end of this listing, as these form an important part of the description. These units have the provision for adding 90mm computer cooling fans, to the rear of the covers, should you wish to install them in an enclosed space. I can provide suitable fans if you are interested in this feature. Please note that these units do not currently have baseplates fitted and the internal wiring will be exposed if not mounted on a shelf or in a cabinet. As with all valve equipment these units must be treated with great respect from a safety perspective. There are high voltages and hot valves must definitely be kept away from prying fingers! I will however give whatever assistance I can to resolve any problems that should arise. I happy to arrange a demonstration of the item at a mutually convenient time. What are the output transformers you are using and why are there two different power transformers. The output transformers were wound to my specification by Transcendar in the USA. I required transformers to suit the Mullard specification for Ultra Linear configuration. Of the original output transformers one was faulty and the other was set up for Low Loading – so I replaced both with a matched pair. The power transformers are both original and of the same electrical specification. The fact that one is shrouded and the other open frame probably didn’t matter to Aegis as they were to be enclosed under the perforated covers. Have dac with fixed output of over 1 volt. Would that be fine? CD players typically have an output of 2V max and this works fine with these amps which have input gain controls. I can also adjust the input to suit any input requirement from 40mV upwards should that be necessary. This sale is for the pictured EICO HF 86 Power Amplifier. PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER, You know what this is… This amp with original EICO labeled MULLARD tubes is EXTREMELY hard to find. It is rated at 14 watts per side, and is a STEREO Tube Amp. ALLOriginal MULLARD TUBES, with the EICO label. It comes with the SAMS Photofacts with layout and schematics. And of course my stereo took the hit. I had it running thru an HF 85 pre-amp, and listened to the FM on an HF90 tuner. Almost stole the EL84s outta this for my guitar amp… But resisted the temptation. This amp was working about 10 years ago or so sounded fantastic too. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. This amp was stored INDOORS, was never exposed to high moisture environment like some others. VERY LITTLE CORROSION OR RUST… Because this is vintage electronics. And because it has not been powered or tested in over 10 years. Was working fine when I stopped using it, and the Mullards all were top shelf.
