1965 Fender Princeton Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp Nashville Mods withftsw
Friday, September 7th, 2018

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced early in 1965, this Blackface Princeton Reverb retains the “Pre-CBS” features typically only associated with the’64 production year, and this extremely clean and early example boasts a Fender Electrical Instrument Co. Faceplate and early no-logo cabinet! The perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions, the Princeton Reverb is a Fender amp that delivers well balanced, sparkling cleans. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. Modded by one of Nashville’s premier amp shops (aptly named “Nashville Amplifier Service”), this Princeton has incredible volume and an extra gain stage utilizing a 12AX7 before the phase inverter, which has been swapped for a 12AU7. The tone is clean, clean, clean and positively huge, with a bass response and fullness that belies the amp’s modest stature. Here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, we typically strive to offer the most original and vintage-correct amps, but this particular Princeton was so well modded and the work so purposefully done to achieve an impressive tone, that we’ve elected to leave all of Nashville Amplifier Service’s work intact. The chassis itself is very clean with the original power transformer and choke that date to early 1965, while the replaced Deluxe Reverb output transformer dates to 1969. The circuit retains the original CTS pots which also date to’65, along with the tube chart which has an “OF” date stamp that translates to June of 1965. The power tubes are a pair of modern Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes which sound great with great richness and detail, while the preamp tubes are a combination of vintage and newer valves. The original faceplate is notably clean and retains all of the original black skirted knobs. As the photos show, the original black tolex is remarkably clean, with oonly light wear on the bottom edges of the enclosure. Both of the original back panels are intact and the stock grillcloth has plenty of sparkle in the thread with only light aging. A two-button Fender footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. Rare 1955 Fender Tube Amplifier White Badge SN# 14 Princeton Tweed Amp Vintage
Sunday, August 19th, 2018

For sale is an extremely rare 1st addition 1955 Fender Amp. This amp was made in honor of Leo Fenders friend Forrest White. I added a little bit of history below the main description. Production on these amps began in October 1955. The pots are dated the 41st week of 1955 which is October 1955. The serial numbers started at AS00001. This one is marked AS00014, making it the 14th one made. As you can see, it has not been cleaned, and is exactly as I found it. The exterior is nicer then most I have seen online. The inside is very dusty and crusty!! I think the whole thing would probably clean up pretty good!! It has three tubes, one 6V6GT, one 5Y3GT, and one 12AX7. From what I have read this is similar to the Princeton Tweed. I broke the original fuse while checking it as the amp did not work. I then noticed that the cord had a bad spot about 2 feet from the end. I put a new fuse in and taped the cord, and the tubes and red light both lit up. There is no sound, so a repair man will have to look at it. I did not attempt this as is it has an Asbestos heat shield connected to the back panel. To be honest Asbestos freaks me out!! By the way, I put the original fuse back in, so it will still need a new one. I was told it was most likely the filter caps, but that was only a guess. This is a non working project amp, so ask all questions! The amp is sealed up, and I will not be taking more pictures. Remember asbestos freaks me out. Thank you, and good luck!! On May 20, 1954, Forrest White joined Leo Fender and his burgeoning. Fender Electric Instrument Company. In Fullerton, California, as General Manager. In early 1955, an employee came into building #3 at the Fullerton factory and asked Forrest. What he wanted to do with the white nameplates that just arrived. He told the messenger to. Send them back because. Nameplates only came in brown or chrome. The brave messenger came back with, No, you dont understand; they are White. The employee proceeded to show Forrest the nameplates with his own name boldly inscribed. It would soon grace a studio amplifier model that Leo was developing for the new. Leo surprised Forrest that day; even as General Manager, White had no idea what Mr. Fender was up to, and that his boss had named this new line after him. Was born soon after the nameplate incident. Forrest White (photo) wrote that they received the first. Sales order, #402, for the new studio linea. White Amp Model 80. And a 6-String Lap. Steelon September 13, 1955. The units were constructed in October and November. Student standard guitar, but never. Put it into production. Fender: The Sound heard Round the World. 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Silverface Tube Amp Vintage Guitar Combo #30252
Friday, December 22nd, 2017
1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Silverface Tube Amp Vintage Guitar Combo #30252. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Amplifier Electric Guitar Combo Amp. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: This item comes as seen in photos, and does not include any accessories. PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good- There are a few signs of normal wear, including minor blemishing on the control panel. There are a few minor imperfections and a small, half inch tear in the grill cover. The metal parts on the top side are lightly oxidized. Otherwise, it’s in very good condition! WORKING CONDITION: Good- Superb Fender tone, with glassy cleans and substantial grit that really sings at a volume that’s present, but manageable. There are a few inconsistent quirks that stopped appearing after a few minutes of testing, like an odd, brief jump in level or two, as well as just a bit of crackle separate from the natural drive, that came in when really hitting the input with some start-stop chords. These quirks were noted, though not consistent enough to detract much while playing. Most likely artifacts from one of the tubes. Overall, good working condition. UNPACKAGED WEIGHT: 33.5 lbs. UNPACKAGED DIMENSIONS: 20″ x 16.5″ x 9.5. We strongly suggest that you check your order after receiving it to be sure that it is in proper working order. NOT WORKING FOR PARTS AS-IS. When you receive an item, open the package using a box cutter and be mindful not to tear up or throw away the box or any internal packaging. Without having to curb your enthusiasm of basking in the glow of your new piece of gear, think in terms of preserving it in its mint condition until certain you are keeping it. For instance, if it were rack gear, we would recommend avoiding racking it until you were certain it was a “keeper”. Thus preventing any possible “rack rash” or scratches. If it were a guitar pedal, avoid sticking Velcro on it and mounting to your pedal board until it passed your test to be knighted and sit at your round table of pedals. Although tempting to have both of your favorite things together, put down the chicken wings slathered in barbecue sauce that is dripping all over your leather vest and beard and be sure your hands are clean and dry before trying out your awesome new gear. Pet odors, cigarette and other smoke items can also affect the “newness” of your gear. Also, keep the gear away from your friend with the Billy Ray Cyrus mullet driving the Camaro. He’s a good guy and he means well, but years of smoke tar and beer bongs have dulled his perceptions. Incorrect voltage, self-repair, exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture damage, or incorrect application, etc. Earphones, microphones or other items that have intimate mouth, face or body contact. Software, computer hardware, computer drives and other digital or media tape. Items that are special orders, discontinued, or closeouts, are all non-returnable. HOW TO RETURN YOUR ITEM. 1965 Fender Princeton Blackface Non-Reverb Vintage Tube Amplifier Pre-CBS
Thursday, December 21st, 2017

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Princeton in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Clean, complete, and original, this vintage Blackface Fender was produced very early in 1965, with most components dating to the first weeks of that year, firmly placing this Princeton at the tail end of the “Pre-CBS” era. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is 100% original, with stock transformers and the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps in the preamp that are instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface amps. The chassis stamp dates to’65, and the visible date codes on the stock Stackpole pots are from the 2nd week of that year as well. The tubes are all vintage and sound great, with a pair of Peavey branded 6V6 power tubes, an RCA rectifier, and Hungarian 12AX7s in the preamp. The original transformers were manufactured by Schumacher (606 prefix on the date codes), with an output transformer that dates to the 2nd week of 1965, and a power transformer that dates to the 8th week of the same year. The tube chart is mostly intact, with an “OH” date stamp that translates to August of’65. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q with the stock wiring harness with the Fender “F” on the 1/4 plug. The hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is clean, with four stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are present, with moderate aging of the grillcloth and one notable spot of wear on the right top edge. This amp has clearly been well cared for since new, and delivers a sound worthy of the Blackface name! The item “1965 Fender Princeton Blackface Non-Reverb Vintage Tube Amplifier Pre-CBS” is in sale since Thursday, December 07, 2017. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Guitar Amplifiers”. The seller is “mmguitarbar” and is located in Seattle, Washington. This item can be shipped worldwide.
