Heathkit Receiver AA-100 Vintage Tube works neat face lighting. Cosmetically the receiver is in good condition for a unit 60 years old. Check out the photos to judge for yourself. I plugged a CD player into Aux2 and attached speakers and it worked with plenty of volume. The sound is slightly distorted but not bad since the capacitors are really old and the switches need to be cleaned. There is a small dent in the back of the chassis (see picture) that could be easily straightened if you remove the fuse holder. Check out the catalogue page pictured that describes this vintage receiver. This is an excellent candidate for a refurbishment and a fascinating piece of audio history marking the time when HI FI moved from monaural to stereo. There is a provision to control stereo separation and mixed-channel speaker to provide “center fill”. I will pack it securely with a heavy duty box lined with foam and the receiver wrapped in bubble wrap. This old HH Scott receiver had been stored in a garage for years, likely decades. It was pretty dusty but cleaned up reasonably well with some compressed air and brush. We removed the 7591 and 12AX7 tubes, but otherwise it’s exactly as we found it. Due to the fact that it’s sat so long, we’ve made no attempt to test it. The Fisher Model 500 Receiver Mono Tube Amp Works 1950′s Vintage. Lettering has faded but considering its age its in great shape. See pics for best description of condition. One knob (far right) has been replaced with a non oem one. The unit was tested and works. The only thing I noticed when testing was there is slight static when turning volume knob at a low Db the static does go away once the knob isnt turning even at low decibel. There is no static at all once volume is at Id say 20% or higher. Most likely the volume pot needs do dioxit or it can be left alone. Any questions please feel free to ask me. This listing includes a beautiful vintage Fisher 500C vacuum tube FM Stereo receiver in exceptionally clean and excellent working condition. This particular receiver was restored approximately 3-months ago by the original owner and has been fully tested. Some of the restoration work that has been done to this receiver includes: re-capping, replaced selenium rectifier, replaced resistors that were out of spec, aligned FM tuner section, re-stringing tuning mechanism, installed four feet on bottom of chassis, checking all solder joints for loose connections, cleaned all controls and switches with DeOxit, replaced any tubes that did not test strong including a matched set of 4 vintage RCA 7591 output tubes that were properly balanced and biased. This vintage receiver should provides many years (if not decades) of trouble-free operation. As the photos show, this particular receiver is extremely clean for its age with no corrosion on the chassis or transformers. The entire face and dial look great with clear lettering and the dial and meter backlights are working. All of the knobs are original and are in great shape with all of the brass knob caps in place. The original power cord is in great shape and is not brittle. Overall, this is one of the cleanest Fisher 500C receivers that you will find. The original owner had cared for and maintained it well over the years, which is why it still looks so clean cosmetically and, now that it has been restored electrically, it functions as great as it looks. From top to bottom, inside and out, this receiver looks absolutely gorgeous and would make a great addition to any collection or as a daily use unit. This receiver comes as shown in the photos. Vintage Pioneer SX-800 Tube Stereo Receiver Amplifier 1965 Recapped 12ax7 7189a. Here is a 60s Pioneer SX-800 tube receiver. This was rebuilt in 2017. Every Suzuki capacitor and many resistors changed out. Good stuff was used!! I believe the rectifier changed to the newer style too. See pics for the work. It was our go to winter stereo, then got sidelined. It ran for hundreds of hours in the cool garage no problem. Almost always had the top off this thing it gets warm. I added tall rubber feet to let the air in. I started tube rolling, as the 12ax7 tone tubes change the sound a ton. They are now Electro Harmonix, a budget but great sounding tube. I like the sovtek lps too. There are tons out there.. Id search for new/nos 7189as. There are 2 GE and 2 with no markings. They sound great its just not a matched set. Remember these are not the 300V 7189, el84 or 6bq5s. These are the hotter 400 volt series. Music sounds crystal clear, sharp treble and good bass, but there is a tube rustle kinda sound that clears as it warms up. Not a hum just an underlying background ghost noise. When it warms up it is goes away. The first couple minutes I usually just keep the volume low and then start crankin! This is 25wpc but with good horn speakers it sounds punchy for sure, even pushing 15 altec 421s with the loudness switch on! Please inspect pics you can see the new caps and resistors top and bottom. There are newer style speaker connectors, and a new 2amp fuse holder. The pots work and arent scratchy. FM radio is sharp. This is old, and tube gear is finicky for sure, however this has been on for hours sounding great! This sounds crisp and clear, it is awesome, and the background noise is dead quiet. It is just a neat sounding unit. Writing this I dont even want to sell it, I just have a lot of stuff not being used and we have other projects to finish.. This will be boxed properly. Vintage Fisher 500-C tube FM Stereo receiver in excellent overall condition. Works well with no hum. Very clean chassis and faceplate as it was removed from a custom console; and was acquired from the original owner. Comes with original Service Manual. Inspection tag still on the cord. All brass knob caps are intact. Faceplate printing is great though there are a couple of nicks and scratches on the faceplate. Chassis printing show some wear and tape residue. Power switch works fine. Ive been running it for several days with no issues. All tone, volume & balance controls work fine. FM Stereo Beacon works on Auto; received several stations. Signal strength meter works. Dial illumination works on both sides. Phono and Aux work fine too. Audio is equal on both sides. It has been serviced sometime in its history as I see the black tube is wrapped in tape. I have no idea when the work was done but estimate years since its been last serviced, so plan on having it checked out by a qualified tech for daily use as this unit is well over 50 years old. So, while fully working, it may not be perfect, so consider this a repair or restoration project. I will have a video demonstration video available as proof of function.
