Reconditioned rare 1959 Gibson GA-18 Explorer Amplifier. It is 100% fully functional. It’s been totally checked out, updated and repaired. All electronics transformers, switches etc are original. Any worn out capacitors/ cap job, soldering joints and tube sockets, pots cleaned, checked out, shored up or repaired. Its been stored in a NON-Smoking home. Relatively new tweed covering and grill cloth are in very nice condition 3 years ago… The Original 1959 Jenson Speaker sounds awesome, re-coned a couple of years ago by Weber speaker company. Chrome control panel is in very good shape, still shines, little pitting or rust, all graphics still very good condition. The cabinet is original, new rubber feet. Great for smaller venues… You want that authentic tweed sound… Look no farther with this amp. Refurbished/ re-coned Original 1959 Jensen Alnico Speaker Serial via Ted Weber speakers. This 1959 Gibson GA-18 Exploer AMp is trulyin museum mint condition. It works exactly as it should and comes with all original parts. The tweed is still in excellent condition and the soft laquer is all intact showing very little signs of fading or dis-coloration. The chrome is shiny and devoid of rust or pitting. Wow, check this out a rare LEE JACKSON M-1000 METALTRONIX TUBE AMP.. Theze are few and far between.. Was gone over and repaired in 2011 by MARTAIN GUITARS in DOYLESTOWN, PA (SEE PIC FOR REPAIR TAG).. Vintage Rare Ampex 6973 Stereo Tube Amplifier Amp Refurbished Very Good Condition. This is a very hard to find 1960 Ampex 6973 stereo tube amplifier, it is a power amp and requires a preamp to drive it. It uses 2 – 7199 and 4 – 6973 output tubes, all 6 tubes are vintage RCA tubes (3 of the 6973 tubes are labeled “Knight by RCA”). There are two input level controls which allow you to adjust/balance the input from your preamp. There is also a balance (hum) control for each push-pull output tube set accessible from the top of the amp. There are screw terminals for the two speakers (8 ohm) and also screw terminals for a power-on indicator lamp. The ac power is fused. There are standard RCA jack left/right inputs. The 7199 tubes test strong and the 6973 tubes still sound great, but will need replacing at some point, 2 of them test weak (right channel). I replaced all of the electrolytic and paper capacitors in the amp for long term reliability. I checked all resistors to confirm they were within tolerance and replaced 2 that weren’t. One of the output balance controls was intermittent, so I replaced both controls with new Clarostat controls. I also replaced the two silicon rectifiers with higher rated new ones for future reliability. I replaced the two safety capacitors (AC line to ground) with modern replacements. Other than some of the power supply caps are slightly larger in value, I did not modify the circuits in anyway. Rework is professional level. I added two terminal strips underneath to securely hold the new capacitors. The original capacitor can is no longer used, but was left to maintain the original appearance of the amp. Please make that decision before beginning any modifications to the amplifier.
