UP FOR SALE IS MY SHERWOOD S50002 80 WATT AMP. IT IS A CLEAN UNIT AND IT WORKS VERY WELL. I REPLACED THE OUTPUT TUBES AND CLEANED ALL THE KNOBS SO IT HAS NO STATIC. I RAN IT JUST A FEW DAYS AGO AND ALMOST KEPT IT. THIS IS A VERY HEAVY UNIT. I MAY HAVE A SPARE TUBE IF I DO ITS YOURS. Vintage Sherwood S5000II 80 watt stereo tube power amplifier 7868 power tubes.. Works needs new tubes power tubes Sherwood label and weak. Six pre amp tubes are a mix of tubes should be 12AX7 tubes but there a mix of 12au7 , 12at7, and 12ax7 will need to be replaced. Cap are original and need to be replaced. Little bit of rust on copper plated chassis and transformers. Overall needs a good cleaning , retubed , and new caps , but for age it works. Has a few scuffs and scrapes on top and all around.. Missing small cover that covers pre amp tubes.. But has tube shields for front 4 tubes. Original Sherwood tube amplifier, this is working but needs to be rebuilt due to age. Both channels work, but there is a hum noticeable when no music is playing. Two of the controls are noisy, all should get some Deoxit cleaner. The other two are Mullard. The (4) 7868 tubes are GE. Around the phono gain button, some of the paint was worn off and has been reapplied. Included is the cover for the amp, no picture was taken of it though. This amp is intended as a project amp for an experienced person, and not as a first time amp to be used without being serviced. As the photos show, this vintage amplifier is very clean inside and out. All of the transformers are rust-free and the chassis is very clean as well. All of the knobs and switches are original and this amplifier has not been recapped. The face is in excellent condition with clear lettering, a bright white face, and all of the original lens covers are still in place.
