Vintage Harmony 400A Guitar Amplifier. This is a fully working Harmony 400A, a super cool low-watt tube guitar amp from the 1950s-60s. It runs a single-ended tube circuit with the following tubes. Estimated at 3-5 watts, this amp is not very loud, making it perfect for practice, harmonica, or mic’d recording. It delivers classic, warm lo-fi breakup, especially with single-coil pickups. This boutique, USA-made 1×12″ tube amplifier packs particularly potent tone into a compact form factor, pushing 5 Class A watts via a vintage “coke bottle JAN-branded 6V6 power tube. Essentially a hot-rodded spin on Fender’s 5F1 Tweed-era Champ, the Space Tone Reverb has streamlined controls with a Hot/Clean switch that toggles between touch-sensitive, glassy cleans and absolute searing drive when pushed hard, with independent Hi and Lo inputs and lush, splashy tube-driven footswitchable Reverb. The circuit is hand-wired point-to-point, cathode-biased with premium componentry including carbon comp resistors, Mallory capacitors, cloth hook-up wire, and CTS potentiometers. The tube complement currently comprises a JAN 6V6 power tube, Bendix 5Y3WGT rectifier, two RCA 12AX7s and a 12DW7 in the preamp. The cabinet is loaded with the original Mojotone British Vintage Series BV-30H 12 ceramic magnet driver, and the tube chart is also intact inside the enclosure, dated 11/20/2007. It is very clean and bright but with a solid low-end and controlled mids. Also, on this channel, the valve/tube power stage is set to be tight and relatively clean, and linear across the frequency range. This is one of the most popular choices for a’pedal platform’ as it provides a solid clean foundation to apply effects to. Channel II for 6L6 model. On 6L6 models this increases the gain into the valve/tube overdrive section pushing the saturation available from the GAIN II control even further. This is great for fluid’legato’ lines and sweep-picking techniques as well as aggressive alternate picking. On these models the power stage is tight with VOICE off and reconfigures to a looser, more resonant response with VOICE on, to provide the low end’chug’ of modern high gain amps. When the footswitch is connected then this switch is bypassed but the LED will still indicate the VOICE status. Super duper RARE find of a Scott Guitar amplifier Head in great condition and just serviced. It sounds very good as younwould expect from Scott audio products. The Vintage Scott line has exploded in Price, and I have never in 50 years seen one of these. 2 6L6s deliver about 30-40 watts of power. It was just serviced by my master tech and has a new 3 prong chord on it. I don’t think this was used much. Add a reverb to it and you got a killer club amp.
