They do have PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards), as opposed to the original’s “hand-wired” circuitry, but the components (capacitors and resistors) are the same values as amps from that period. Up for sale, a 1959 Danelectro Twin Twelve Series D Model 98 tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in good working order. An exceedingly clean and well preserved vintage Danelectro tube amp, the Twin Twelve boasts a two-channel circuit driven by a quartet of fresh JJ 6L6 power tubes. Channel One has tons of bass, with a muscly clean tone that quickly gains a bit of hair when you dig in, with a very rich, churning drive when you dime it out. The low end is burly and full while retaining a certain focus and punch, and the gain is positively ripping. Channel Two is more polite, with far less bass and a more glassy quality, still driving hard when you turn it up. Remolo effect works on both channels and is extremely square wave in nature, cutting through with tons of chop and enough variance in the Speed knob to go from swampy and slow to relatively fast. The circuit is clean and stock, with original CTS pots which date to early’57. The original pair of Utah alnico 12 speakers have clean 1957 date stamps on the magnets as well. The original transformers are intact, and the upper and lower chassis both have extremely clean polished aluminum, with deep brown silkscreening on the upper chassis and the full compliment of original brown molded knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact too. Cosmetically, this Danelectro is a real stunner, with original gold sparkle grillcloth and a textured blonde covering on the cabinet. There is only light wear and staining on the bottom of the enclosure, and the Danelectro lucite badge is intact on the face. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order. Very clean and well maintained, this Twin is a unique transitional amp that still retains the Blackface era AB763 circuit and is additionally a factory upgrade model with the original pair of JBL D120 speakers. When it comes to the quintessential Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and a balanced, authoritative response perfect for guitar, pedal steel, or your Fender Rhodes piano, it’s hard to beat the Twin Reverb. The top end chimes and twangs without being brittle, and the low end has fullness without being too overbearing. It’s as classic and pure a design as Leo Fender ever created! The circuit is very original, and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with dates ranging from mid 1968-early’69. The amp features stock CTS pots, cloth wiring, carbon comp resistors, and a mostly original compliment of capacitors. The main filter caps have been replaced with high quality Sprague Atoms to guarantee years of future trouble-free use, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The power tubes are a quad of well matched modern short bottle 6L6s and the preamp tubes are all modern valves as well. The original JBL D120F speakers are both present with original labels on the alnico magnet bells as well as faint factory stamps from 1969. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the wiring harness is completely stock too, right down to the Fender “F” cap on the 1/4 pancake jack. The original tube chart is intact, noting the AB763 circuit. The original black tolex is particularly clean, with only minor scuffing and very light edge wear. The grillcloth has been professionally replaced on the original screw-in baffle, and when the grill was installed, the original aluminum drip edge trim was removed from the grill. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides and handle. Here is a vintage Silvertone 1474 twin reverb amp. The amp and all the controls are working, however, it does pop a lot and is a bit snowy due to its age. The amp does have a nice sound thus, if serviced, you might be able to get it to sound a lot cleaner. The tubes do say Silvertone on them so they are probably old. Included is the vintage foot switch as well. Tremolo and reverb appear to working. See photos for cosmetic condition (reasonably good considering how old it is). It has the usual dings, dust, and scratches, but no major tears on the outside and the cloth front is intact.
