This amp is all original as it sits. And in excellent over all condition, especially for a old classic American amp from Fullerton California. Another Krazy item from Slappys Vintage. 1965 Fender Vibro Champ. Rare – in great shape. Speaker changed – not original. Power cable is Not original (very long grounded). Missing upper back panel. No other modification – inside chassis parts are all original – see pictures. Even the Caps (which will eventually need to be changed). Transformer codes 606-5-40, 606-5-18. Chasis stamp A 061xx. Tube chart Date stamp OJ – October 1965. Ink stamp on chassis TA4165. RCA power and preamp tubes – look older but may have been replaced at some point. Great shape for 50+ years old – Chassis is clean. Tolex is in very good shape – some age and marks. Powers on and working good. Speaker in it is torn so I tested it through extension cabinet – sounds good and functions and tremolo working well. Please see all pictures for condition – faceplate is really nice as seen. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibro Champ in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original RCA & Telefunken tube set and factory paperwork. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The circuit is nearly untouched, with stock Schumacher transformers that date between late 1966 and early’67. The preamp has only a few new capacitors to ensure the amp is operating optimally. The tube chart is extremely clean and fully intact, with an “QF” code which translates to June of 1967. The tubes are all original vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender label on the alnico magnet and a frame that shows virtually no wear. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are remarkably clean. The faceplate is near mint, with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows only light surface patina. The tolex shows barely any wear, and the grillcloth still has plenty of sparkle to the thread. This Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone that sure to delight both discerning collectors and serious players, complete with the original tube set. Here is a Fender Vibro Champ guitar amplifier. This is a silverface era amp, from the 1970′s. Overall in great shape. Everything is in working order. Original face-plate was replaced with a blackface style reproduction. Furthermore, the amp was placed in a pine wood aftermarket head cabinet, about 10 years ago. Some of the tolex is lifting, and coming detached from cabinet. Also, two of the control knobs are later reproductions. Original 2 prong ac power plug was switched to a 3 prong grounded style. Also, amp comes with rca-to-quarter inch input jack cabinet cable. The original face-plate is not included in this listing. Furthermore, no foot-switch is included.
