1979 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Silverface Vintage Tube Amp, Serviced with Ftsw, Cover

Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch and a 100% original, untouched circuit. One of the last amps produced in the original Silverface run, this vintage Fender does everything you’d expect of your favorite mid-size vintage Fender combo, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two original 10 CTS ceramic speakers matched with a tube rectified 6L6-based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The circuit is untouched, with original Schumacher transformers that date to 1979. The CTS pots in the preamp are all intact, also dating to 1979, and the amp has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The original Mallory filter caps are intact and still viable, and while one cap shows minor leakage, all still function well and are left intact, given the pristine, original nature of the circuit. The speakers are the original pair of CTS 10 ceramic drivers with clean frames, original blue foil stickers on the magnets, and stamps on the frames from the 30th week of’79. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet as well with crisp corners. The tubes consist of a brand new pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the original Fender-branded 5U4 rectifier, and a near complete set of original Fender-branded, USA-made valves in the preamp as well. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean with original smooth black tolex silver sparkle cloth with a subtle blue stripe. The black tolex shows very little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact aside from a brand new pair of sphinx glides (feet). The amp was at one time fitted with casters which have subsequently been removed. All of the turquoise text is bold and present on the Silverface faceplate, and all of the stock witch hat knobs are present too. The original two-button footswitch is included, along with a modern slip cover. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12L5N speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to early-1962. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp courtesy of Mercury Magnetic’s Tone Clone series. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to late’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, along with new bias and bypass caps in the preamp. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The power tubes are a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6-GE small bottle valves, with matching Groove Tubes in the preamp and an Amperex “bugle boy” rectifier. The Oxford speaker is original, dating to the 4th week of’62 and sporting a very clean frame and original cone. The stock speaker harness is intact as well, and inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact with an LG date stamp, translating to July of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, and the enclosure shows only some requisite minor marks and scuffs, with light wear through the tolex on the bottom corners of the cabinet. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12LN speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to mid-1961. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp with a blank black bell cover. Many of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped, and the bias cap also has a small trim pot piggybacked on it to perfectly dial in the bias of the matched pair of vintage small bottle USA-made 6L6 power tubes. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp tubes are a mix of modern and vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and RCA. The speaker is the right make and model for this amplifier (Oxford 12LN) and era-correct, although it dates a bit earlier than the amp with a code on the edge of the frame which translates to 1957. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. 1967 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 2x10 Export Model

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Export Model, very original and given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A very rare Export Model designed with a rotary voltage selector on the back panel, this amp works with worldwide voltages from 117 to 240v. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. This Vibrolux has been thoroughly serviced to balance originality and functionality, boasting a recap of the power supply with Sprague Atoms and a modern three-prong power cable. The original Schumacher-made power and output transformers are intact and date to’66, and the original choke and reverb transformer are present too. The preamp is extremely original and straight, with all of the blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The CTS pots also date to 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes sound wonderful and are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are a compliment of vintage and modern valves which function as intended. The original Oxford 10 10L5 speakers sound fantastic, and both speakers feature original cones which are still tight, yet nicely worked in. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the AA864 circuit with a “QB” date code which translates to February of’67 (customarily the latest date code on a Fender amp). The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, along with all of the stock hardware and the original raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. The edges of the enclosure show a bit of honest wear from the past half century, but as the photos show, this Vibrolux presents very well. A rare iteration of one of Fender’s best mid-size Blackface combos, this Export Model Vibrolux Reverb is tonally stunning, very original, and fully serviced to sound its best. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Blackface Vintage 35-watt Tube Amp VG

For sale we have a vintage 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Amp, a true American classic from the Blackface era. This amp came to us from it’s second, long term owner, and has seen good ownership and maintenance, including a current amp tech go through, as hired by us, from Bob Garufy, a local tech of note. This amp currently sounds fantastic, works great, and has a clean bill of health. Please read the entire listing. All things considered, for a 53 year old amp that has seen use, this amp is in very good condition. When this amp came to us, it had had its Reverb Driver replaced in 2004 with a Marvel brand driver. All remaining transformers are original and date to late 1965. The interior chassis stamp dates to late 1965. The speakers are original Jensen C10NS, C824 and date to late 65. The grill cloth is original, still has the original black staples, and is in really good shape. Original tolex, knobs, handle and logo. As mentioned, we had this amp serviced. We had the bright switches replaced, we still have the originals. We also chose to replace both the input jacks on channel one, we still have those, too. We also put a fresh, heavy duty power cord on it, the “death cap” checked fine so was left in. Any cold solders were repaired, and 1 meg ohm cap was replaced. The filter caps were pro replaced with Mallories in 1995, and still work strong. We replaced the out put tubes with a fresh pair of JJ tubes from Tube Depot. The current owner has plugged in a solid state rectifier in the rectifier tube socket, it imparts a pretty wide head room, so we left it. To put it back to tube would involve just a quick, easy swap with a rectifier tube. The remaining tubes are Sovtek, the 12AT7 in the first channel is USA. The owner chose to use a 12AX7 in the reverb socket for a super lush reverb, again, we like it, so we left it. All tubes have been checked and are good. This amp is good to go, ready for stage or studio use. Unfortunately we do not have a cover for it. We do have the original footswitch, which works perfectly. That being said, this is a solid, well gone through amp that should last, delight and continue to go up in value for years to come. The Guitar Trader buys, sells, trades, and consigns new and used quality instruments. While the main focus is on trading used instruments we do carry exclusive lines like Nash Guitars, Quilter Amplifiers, Reverend Guitars, and effects pedals by Henretta Engineering. The item “1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Blackface Vintage 35-watt Tube Amp VG” is in sale since Saturday, November 17, 2018. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Vintage Musical Instruments\Vintage Guitars & Basses\Guitar Amplifiers”. 1960 Fender Vibrolux Tweed Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp with Victoria Cover

Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order, well maintained and complete with the original Victoria Luggage cover! This amp is from the most desirable run of Fender tweed amps from the late 50s, with the “narrow panel” cabinet design and a tone that is quintessential vintage Fender. The circuit is completely original save for a recap with high quality electrolytic caps, featuring Sprauge Atoms in the power supply to keep the amp operating within original factory spec. With a complete vintage tube set (including matched Sylvania 6V6 power tubes), this amp delivers the classic tweed tone with incredible dynamics, harmonic richness, and tonal clarity. The amp stays surprisingly clean with just the right amount of overdrive and very tight bass response for an amp with the original Jensen 10 speaker. The tremolo is bias based, meaning that it turns the tubes on and off at a rate and intensity set by the controls, and has a nice strong pulse to it, with a smooth waveform that has a good amount of intensity and chop on tap. Aside from the aforementioned recap and one new CTS pot, the circuit is completely stock with original Triad transformers and the coveted yellow Astron tone caps still present. The clean tube chart has a “JB” stamp which dates to February of’60. The chassis is quite clean, with moderate patina on the chrome control plate. The majority of the original white lettering is intact, along with the stock chicken head knobs. 1969 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp Blackface AA864 Circuit

Up for sale, an early 1969 Fender “drip edge” Vibrolux Reverb with the coveted Blackface AA864 circuit. Tonally, the amp does everything you’d expect of your favorite Vibrolux Reverb, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two 10 ceramic speakers, matched with a tube rectified 6L6 based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The speakers are a pair of era correct Oxford 10L6 10 ceramic speakers, that feature clean black frames, stock Fender blue labels and original speaker cones. These speakers have 1976 date codes, and are the correct stock factory 10s found in most Vibrolux’s of the era. The tube chart is clean and intact with crisp edges. The output transformer dates to early 1969, while the power transformer and choke date back to’68. The CTS pots date to late 1968 as well. The circuit is clean and well maintained, having been professionally recapped, with new bypass caps in the preamp as well. The brown molded tone caps are intact in the preamp, while the majority of the resistors have been swapped in favor of high quality one watt metal film resistors for the cleanest signal and lowest possible noise floor. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong cable. The power tubes are a pair of matched Mesa Boogie-branded USA made 6L6GC valves which have been properly biased, while the preamp tubes are an assortment of largely vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. Cosmetically, the amp is very well kept with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with aluminum trim. The black tolex shows sparingly little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact, including the chassis straps, corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet). The faceplate is quite minty too and the original Fender metal logo (with tail) is intact on the face of the amp. There is modest aging of the original grillcloth, but no other wear of note. As the photos show this is a clean, original, and well maintained vintage Fender! A modern Fender two-button footswitch is included. Vintage 1980 Fender USA Vibrolux Reverb 2×10 Tube Electric Guitar Amplifier Amp. Welcome to Musicdungeon, you are looking at a great piece. This is the Vintage 1980 Fender USA Vibrolux Reverb Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier. This is the Silverface model- final year of production- the pots, transformers, and chassis code date to 1980. The red plug is a giveaway for 1980 as well. The Vibrolux features the best of everything’Fender’- all tube design, warm tremolo, and true spring reverb. Dual 6L6′s, 4 12ax7′s, 2 12at7′s, and a 5u4. This brings you those infamous Fender cleans and’pushed’ tube tones at 40 watts. Plugging into this beauty and turning up you immediately get the tight bottom and sweet highs the Fender tube amps are known for. Turn up towards’5′ and you start to dial in the sweet pushed tube overdrive. Engage the Boost circuit (via front panel or footswitch) and come out front for leads. Set the reverb down at about’2′ and it adds nice depth to chords and great tails to leads, bring it up and you get that famous’tunnel’ sound. The tremolo here is warm and tight- beautiful. All of this great tube tone runs to the dual Fender Design 10 speakers. 10 are the perfect compliment to this amp- they retain the bottom end while allowing for great clarity. This Fender amplifier has been fully tested and works as it should. Good overall condition- typical static in the pots. This is your chance to get your hands on a true vintage Fender tone machine- the 1980 Vibrolux Reverb. We have been an authorized Fender dealer for the better part of a decade. Don’t pass this by!
