Vintage Bell & Howell Tube Amp – FilmoSound Amplifier w/12 Speaker – (Guitar/Harp Combo Amp). This is a Bell & Howell Filmosound Projector Tube Amplifier with a 12 speaker, which I believe is Jensen. It is in excellent condition, and has been tested in the projector (a video of which I have posted on Youtube). As well as posting a video of this amps features here. In the video here. The Filmosound amplifier is playing a short section of Dweezil Zappa’s guitar solo in the song Inca Roads. I disassembled the speaker and amplifier to ensure there were no surprises, and the pictures show that the speaker and amplifier are in superb condition. The vacuum tubes are (2) two 6L6G (1) one 5Z4 and (1) one 6SL7GT. Please see the videos in the links above for more information on the amplifiers condition and functionality. This tube amplifier and 12 speaker from the original projector normally has another tube amplifier (also for sale here) that provides the preamp for this speakers tube amplifier. In order to utilize this one enclosure, I have replaced that tube preamplifier with a small solid state amplifier that has a separate on/off control, and also provides additional tone and volume control. The amp also has an additional 1/4 speaker/audio out jack to allow for the use of an additional speaker. The pics show the physical condition. You know, these terrific Tube-Powered record players lost their place in history, due to inexpensive imported solid state electronics, starting back in the 60′s. Not only did we loose the full, warm tube sound, replaced by transistors, but we also lost those beautiful wooden cabinets, covered in various fun, vibrant colors. Well, I’m happy to say I have found vintage style coverings, the same that were used back in the day! Recovering of these cabinets is a lost art, and as you could imagine, takes quite some time to complete. I chose just the right colors for this cabinet’s coverings: A fantastic 19 50′s aqua and grey… The covering is also waterproof, and is the exact same style that was used back in the day! I also decided on a black and silver speaker grill cloth , along with gold painted tapered legs. Has a Sonotone 2T cartridge and flip over stylus, so you can play either LP’s , 45′s or 78′s. This is an automatic changer, so you can stack records, and they will drop and play in turn, and the unit will shut off after the last record has been played. Comes with 4 speeds for playing 16,33,45, and 78 rpm records. The entire changer has been carefully taken apart, rebuilt, and works great! This player is powered by a po werful RCA 3 tube amplifier, which includes a 12A x7 , and 2- 50C5 outputs. The amplifier was completely redone, a nice vintage white painted chassis, along with all new components!! There are many vintage record players out there, though it is important when purchasing any vintage electronics, to make sure the dried out or leaking capacitors in the amplifier have been replaced. A vintage record player may still work after 50 years, but the original capacitors will eventually fail, and cause serious damage to the player’s amplifier, and be dangerous to operate. Up for sale is a rare and excellent tube amp by Traynor. This amp was originally designed to be a bass amp. But like the legendary Fender Bassman, this amplifier sounds TERRIFIC with 6 string electric guitar! This is what I use this amp for, and its amazing in its own little (or more like big) unique way! Since it was designed for bass, this amp has a 15 inch speaker. And I think the speaker gives this amp more depth and body to your single notes, more so than your typical 12 or smaller speaker amps. Possibly with the exception of many of your Fender tube amps, such as the Twin Reverb and Deluxe reverb, which this amp sounds very reminiscent of, to my ears. Note: the original speaker has been replaced by a newer 15. I dont know what the new speaker is, and I dont really want to have to open up the amp if I dont have to. All I know about it is that it sounds GREAT! Add to your palette the top end sparkle that only amps with valves can give you, and youve got one complete sonic solution in your repertoire! All haughty descriptive words aside, this thing can get LOUD quick! It can definitely handle all but the largest venues with ease. Another cool feature of this amp is that there are 2 input sections to this amp, one seeming to have a little higher gain than the other, and each having a hi and low input jack, for a total of 4 inputs! So you can jumper one input side into the other using a patch cable, and really attain all of the tonal capabilities and options of this superb unit! I want to go ahead and get this item listed so please stay tuned for updates but I feel like these pictures give a better survey of any cosmetic issues better than I could describe them! There’s nothing like a vintage fender, and this is a gorgeous amp with a badass well-loved vintage look. The amp comes with the original stand in its bag, and was modded by the guitar shop that I got it from to have a modern, clean three prong power plug. There’s only two issues I’m aware of with this amp. One, there’s a little bit of debris in the reverb, which I understand is common, that can make a little rattling sound when you walk near the amp on a floor that bucks, although some people (like me) LOVE that sound as it sounds wet and surfy. Also, turning the reverb all the way up and leaving it alone without playing anything Can cause a ringing sound like feedback, and I have been told that cleaning out the reverb in the first issue should fix that too. Personally it’s never been an issue for me. If there’s anything else to know about these amps is if you have any trouble just peek around back and make sure all the tubes are seated. This amp sounds amazing but I moved into a smaller place and I can’t turn this thing up above a 2 as much as I might want to so it’s time for me to pair down. 1965 Fender Bandmaster blackface AB763 vintage amplifier in good cosmetic and working condition. This is been used in my smoke free home studio only – never gigged. The vintage Fender tone that comes out of this amplifier is pure bliss. It’s quiet, all knobs move smoothly… The only noticeable scar is on the faceplate by the eq section of the normal channel. I added the back panel with a exact hand made replica as the original was missing at the time I got the amp. It has all the original blue molded caps and all date codes are correct… Brand new power Ruby tubes were just installed. These are becoming collectible and this one is not going to disappoint.
