Up for sale here is this gorgeous vintage Sears Silvertone 1483 tube amplifier. This is in great condition, with light to moderate wear overall and very light rust/corrosion on the face. It’s not mint, but is definitely in good shape. The cabinet is nice and solid. This has the original Silvertone-badged RCA 6L6GC output tubes, dated 1967, and has the original Silvertone 6CG7 and 5Y3GT tubes. The 12AX7s are vintage US-made, I think GE. Both tube shields are there. This is missing the rear ID badge that would normally be riveted in on the right side. This only has two bolts holding it in from the bottom, and no bolts from the back–I’m not sure why those are gone. The electronics appear to be 100% original–all the caps look like they are untouched. The 6L6GCs are dated 1967, so this amp is from around that year. All the original knobs are there. This has four 1/4″ input jacks on the front and two 1/4″ output jacks on the back. I do not know if this normally has one or two rear output jacks. It has a nice long power cord, and has another cable sticking out of the back. That second cable is shorter, maybe a foot long, and has what appears to be an odd-looking AC plug on the end, but I’m pretty sure it’s an output cable and is not an AC cord. I brought this up on a Variac, and it does play fine and sounds good. I didn’t hear much background noise, just a tiny bit of it in the background. I did clean the 12AX7 sockets and potentiometers with Deoxit, but otherwise I have not updated this or anything. This is tested and working, but because this is a vintage tube amplifier, I would strongly recommend that you recap/restore this before regular use. Offering a Pair of Stromberg Carlson Tube Amplifiers. The units use 2- 6L6 Power Tubes (Not Included). 2- 12AX7′s Not Included. 3- 12AU7′s Not Included. Made in the U. Both units are intact and have been tested. I brought both units up slow on my Variac and cleaned all switches. One unit works pretty good with decent sound, but I feel it could be better with a recap. The other unit was working for a while with a very loud hum and faint sound, but now it has no output at all, it’s dead quiet. Unit powers fine and all tubes light up. I have not done any further testing and at this point. Check out the pictures for a look at cosmetics and the underside. Both units come with Schematic attached to the bottom panel. VINTAGE McINTOSH MC240 TWO-CHANNEL TUBE AMPLIFIER. Last used regularly nearly fifteen years ago, this superb stereo amp was replaced when my then new, low efficiency speakers needed a larger amp. When recently brought on-line again (slowly, with a variable power supply, because of the caps) it again sounded great. But now I have moved and must sell it. This is a vintage unit, original and not mint. However, it is in very fine condition (examine pics carefully). There are some fine scratches on the chrome but no rust and no notable damage to the black paint. As can be seen in the pics, the printing is clear and in fine state. This is especially made evident in the photo of the back of the unit. The lettering on the front, with all the connectors, is crisp. The latter, having not been used in a while, could use a good cleaning. The bottom plate does have some scuff marks. This is a very fine looking example of this audiophile quality amplifier. Also, this Mc240 comes with the McIntosh tube cage, which comes up to about the top of the transformers and is in excellent condition. I have had the unit for over 25 years. During that time, it has never been rebuilt or modified, except for tube swaps. To my knowledge the same is true for the period before I bought it from the original owner. This MC240 has 4 6L6GC output power tubes and the usual 12AX7, 12AU7, and 12BH7 drivers. The unit is already wrapped, has been placed into a wooden crate, which in turn is in a heavy-weight, corrugated container with ample cushioning. Tubes have been removed, wrapped, and labeled so as to minimize physical shock during transport. 1961 Fender Champ Tweed Amp with 5F1 circuit. This vintage amp includes all original parts except for the rear panels and it has just been fully inspected and serviced with zero issues. There is typical cosmetic wear in the tweed covering throughout, and a tiny tear in the speaker grill cloth. The original handle works perfectly but has typical wear. All lettering and numbers on the control panel are visible. The original speaker is included but has been swapped for a USA Mojotone. A few caps were replaced when it was serviced but all originals are included. This is an extremely loud and fantastic sounding amp for its tiny size, which is why the 5F1 Champ is so highly regarded. The Fender Champ evolved out of the Champion 600 and 800 which launched in the late’40s. Originally, the Champ was a tweed-covered 4 watt amp with a 6-inch speaker. All of these details would evolved during its production run, with a switch to a black cover coming in 1964.
