This amp is from the 1960s made by Lectrolab. It has been serviced into a players amp. Sounds great, some call this amp the poormans deluxe. It has been serviced with a new Weber AlNico speaker, Filter caps replaced, new handle, new grill cloth and a 3 prong grounded plug. This amp sounds great with a real nice sounding tremolo. Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Showman Brownface tube amplifier head and 1×15 Tone Ring speaker cab in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Along with the Twin, the Showman was the flagship of the early 1960s Fender tube amp lineup, featuring a whopping 80 watts of power, and boasting Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit. While the Showman may best be known as Dick Dale’s amp of choice for his classic surf sound, this circuit can offer much more, with incredibly rich low end and EQ controls that have an extremely wide sweep for everything from punchy cleans to raucous overdrive. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line, this Showman has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. Perfect for guitar, bass, or keyboards, this is a versatile head that pairs well with just about anything from the era! Restored to original spec, the head features new rough blonde tolex and original oxblood grillcloth, while the speaker cabinet is a brand new solid pine reproduction from Mojotone fitted with a genuine vintage JBL D130F speaker. One very unique and desirable feature of the Showman is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This large 1×15 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone with a stock JBL D140F speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This elegant design makes the Showman cab work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. Plus it just looks so darn impressive! The circuit has been fully serviced and recapped, with new Sprague Atom bypass capacitors and new filter caps as well, all sleeved in the original Minimite wrappers. The original famed Ajax blue molded tone caps are intact, providing the sweetness, clarity, and balance found with vintage Fender preamps. All of the stock pots and carbon comp resistors are present as well, along with original cloth wiring. The amp boasts a quad of vintage USA-made Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) small bottle power tubes as well as a host of vintage valves in the preamp. The original transformers are all intact, with the absolutely massive output transformer often known as the “Dick Dale” transformer, spec’d to be cleaner and more powerful than any Fender transformer that preceded it. The power transformer dates to the first weeks of’63, while the tube chart has an “LG” date code which translates to July of’62. Along with the new rough blonde tolex on the head, all of the hardware is new as well, with modern Fender dogbone handles, chassis straps, and corners. The Showman faceplate is original and fitted with new cream barrel knobs. When Mojotone made the speaker cabinet, they placed the handle in the wrong location, something which has been rectified, and the tolex has been patched to cover the handle mounting holes on the cab for the cleanest possible look. With original transformers, a fully serviced and very stock circuit, a full compliment of vintage valves, and a vintage JBL D130F speaker too, this restored Showman is a Pre-CBS Fender classic. Up for sale is a terrific classic amp by Ampeg…. Two beautiful inputs/channels of tube goodness reside within this amplifier. There is distortion on one of the channels on this amp. But it is very weak, literally. It almost sounds like it’s trying to be a tube screamer, blending the “distortion” with the original clean signal…. But definitely not the amp’s strong suit. What IS this amp’s strong suit is its “Fender Twin like” clean sounds…. With a power amp driven by 4 7027A power tubes, the clean signal from this amp has it all…… Nice round low end, a clear and glassy top end, and just enough inherent mids to give the amp an amazing clean sound! Also makes it a great platform for pedals so you have the potential for a universe of sounds that sound great! The amp has a nice 3 band parametric EQ that services both inputs, which includes a very responsive mid control that has a lot of positions, and therefore, shades of middle frequency. On top of that, there is a three position switch, ranging from 300Hz to 3000Hz, located above the parametric EQ that lets you tweak your mids even more! This amp also has a genuine spring reverb, with a cool locking feature on the back, so you can actually “turn off” the reverb with a latch on the back of the amp. According to my amp tech and his trusty side kick, the actual purpose of the lock is so that your reverb tank isn’t constantly clanging around in your car on the way to the gig! Then, when you get to your destination, you can simply unlock the latch and rock out with your reverb! Speaking of which, this amp has been serviced by one of the best, if not the best amp tech in the Charlotte metro area. It has 8 brand new capacitors values/voltage can be provided to SERIOUS potential buyers upon request. There are now 2 brand new 220k/2w resistors. Brand new sturdy speaker plug as well as a robust 3 prong plug for the (very long) power cable have also been installed on the amp. Also, 1 brand new ECC-832 preamp tube has been installed. 2 of the power tubes were fairly new and still had plenty of life on them, so the other 2 7027A’s were replaced with a matching pair, so now the amp has a matched quad of power tubes…. Thereby providing a FULL 100 watts (my amp tech believes this is conservative) of earth shaking, beautiful sounding tube power! I was aware that this is a sought after tube amplifier when I acquired it, but I had no way to use it with my system or test its working condition. I requested a technician test it and fix anything that needed fixing! The list of repairs made by the technician are as follows: The Stereo / Mono switch was not working so it was hard wired Stereo. Rectifier tube was replaced by a SOVTEK GZ34. 5408 1000V-4A pretection diodes added to tube rectifier socket. Four EL34s were replaced with JJ E34Ls. One of the last amps from’67 to retain the Blackface AB763 circuit, this amp has been thoroughly serviced in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and is studio ready. The very original’67 chassis has been matched with a vintage pair of Jensen C12N speakers and a new Mojotone solid pine speaker cabinet with new smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth, reminiscent of Fender’s transitional’64 specs. The tone is full on Blackface power and sparkle with rich cleans that exemplify the kind of clarity and sweetness for which the AB763 circuit is known. The reverb has a particularly lush sound and strong decay, while the tremolo throbs with the best. A perfect platform for pedals and ideal for amplifying everything from a guitar or pedal steel to your favorite Fender Rhodes or vintage combo organ, this Twin Reverb is dialed in to sound its best. The circuit is very original, retaining all of the stock transformers with 1967 date codes, and the CTS pots date to late’67 as well. The preamp has been thoroughly serviced with new Sprague Orange Drop tone caps and smaller bypass caps, and the power amp has been freshly recapped as well to ensure stable, reliable use. This is the Vintage 1980 Fender USA Vibrolux Reverb Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier. This is the Silverface model- final year of production- the pots, transformers, and chassis code date to 1980. The red plug is a giveaway for 1980 as well. The Vibrolux features the best of everything’Fender’- all tube design, warm tremolo, and true spring reverb. Dual 6L6′s, 4 12ax7′s, 2 12at7′s, and a 5u4. This brings you those infamous Fender cleans and’pushed’ tube tones at 40 watts. Plugging into this beauty and turning up you immediately get the tight bottom and sweet highs the Fender tube amps are known for. Turn up towards’5′ and you start to dial in the sweet pushed tube overdrive. Engage the Boost circuit (via front panel or footswitch) and come out front for leads. Pretty rare amp by one of the best sound equiptment companies around. This is a fairchild model 219 preamp. The good news, the faceplate is in beautiful shape. The bad news is someone converted this amp to a one channel amp long ago. The amp turns on and HAS output. Unit has been tested. Transformers are united transformers that i dont believe are original. Meter and standby light are not hooked up. This would be a great project to return to original or use as is for that retro steampunk look!!! This listing is for a 1950 Gibson BR-6 Guitar Amplifier. Super vintage tone just oozing out of this thing! The original speaker has been replaced with a Peavey 12 and the amp has been recovered with a new handle but the sound is what sells this amp. It was originally made to be a lap steel amp but electric guitar players soon found it to be a nice amp as well. It provides that nice tube amp breakup at reasonable volumes but can still be cleaned up by rolling off the volume on the guitar itself. Obviously the amplifier isnt an original museum piece but if youre after that vintage tone on a budget this is the amp for you!
