Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bandmaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Pre-CBS Fender piggyback amp features original smooth blonde tolex and a AA763 circuit, typically only seen on the very first Blackface amps. The rare combination of cosmetics on this amp was only seen from the last months of 1963 through mid-64, and this amp sounds particularly good with the original pair of Oxford 12L6 ceramic speakers. This amp delivers the incredible cleans which are a hallmark of the Blackface tone, with sparkle, clarity and definition unlike any amps before or since. The tremolo has a nice strong pulse, with a wide range of speeds from swampy and slow to machine gun fast chop. The circuit is very clean and original, with the stock Schumacher power transformer dating to late’63 and an era-correct Bandmaster output transformer also produced by Schumacher and dating to early’66. All of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact in the preamp and an essential part of the Blackface Fender tone, while the main filter caps have been upgraded to F&T caps to ensure that the circuit is working optimally. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The CTS pots date to the 34th week of 1963. In terms of the tube compliment, the amp is outfitted with a vintage pair of General Electric 6L6 tubes which have been properly biased, along with a vintage preamp tube assortment including RCA and General Electric valves. The original tube chart is mostly intact inside the head and, the cab retains the original Oxford 12 ceramic 12L6 speakers with clean black frames and pristine model and date codes. All of the stock cabinet hardware is intact including pat. Pending tilt back legs, corners, jack, sphinx glides and piggyback head inserts. The original smooth blonde tolex shows some scuffs and light signs of wear on the edges of the enclosures. Both the head and cab have new gold sparkle grillcloth and the original pair of raised Fender logos are present. The back panel on the head is a modern Mojotone replacement, and all of the original fiberglass baffling is included in the speaker cab. I have owned this Champ for quite a few years now. It is a nice Vintage 1970′s Champ, It started distorting at one point many years ago and I removed the tubes to check them. They were never reinstalled, I will include a 12ax7 and A Vintage 6V6 Tube. If I have a 5y3 rectifier tube I will include that also, if I do not have you will need one. This Champ is in very good shape with one small blemish on grill clothe and a few scratches here and there etc but very littln. Will need to be gone through, very good condition whatever was wrong should be ab easy fix for an amp tec. 6 watts of gorgeous Champ tone. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been expertly maintained to balance function with originality. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and NOS preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has great midrange content, light compression, and starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. Professionally recapped so the power amp is stable and working as per factory spec with a very low noise floor suitable for recording, the amp also features a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp is loaded with an assortment of vintage Fender blue molded caps and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with date codes spanning late 1965 and early’66. The CTS pots date back to the 45th week of’65 and the tube chart is intact with an “PC” date code which translates to March of 1966. The original Oxford speaker also dates to 1965 with the original blue foil Fender label on the magnet and a fresh recone. Cosmetically, the amp is very original overall, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. There is moderate aging of the grillcloth and some minor scuffs around the edges of the tolex as well as one small cigarette burn on the top. The original hardware is all present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. This is a very original and well maintained example of one of Fender’s most famous Blackface amps, complete with the original two-button footswitch. I discovered this beauty while renovating some custom cabinetry in my late relative’s downtown Chicago apartment. He had impeccable taste and finding this was very much in keeping with my boyhood impressions of his high style. The Craftsmen 500 was produced in 1951 in Chicago, and this unit has a relatively low serial number (3638). I have not tested this unit but I believe all appears to be in good working order, with the exception of one of the two larger tubes (as seen in pictures).
