Up for sale, a 1978 Fender Deluxe Reverb in pristine, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. 100% original with an untouched circuit, stock Oxford speaker, and immaculate cosmetic appearance, this genuine vintage Deluxe Reverb even features a full compliment of original Raytheon preamp tubes, along with the original matched RCA 6V6 power tube pair and 5U4 rectifier. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the Volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It’s everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp. The circuit is original and untouched, with original Schumacher transformers that date to 1978. The preamp retains all of the original blue molded signal caps, and the power supply caps are original as well. The CTS pots date back to mid’77, and the amp is the last vintage iteration of the Deluxe with a push/pull gain boost on the Vibrato Channel Volume control. The original CTS 12 speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and the original speaker cone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet as well. Cosmetically, this amp is exceedingly clean as the photos can attest, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with pale blue stripe. The faceplate positively gleams with its near mint turquoise text and full compliment of witch hat knobs. All of the stock hardware shines like new too, with minty handle caps, chassis straps, logo, and sphinx glides (feet). The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Musicmaster Bass 1×12 tube amplifier in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, featuring the original matching RCA tube set. While designed as a companion for the Fender bass of the same name, this Class A/B 6AQ5-powered tube amp has found favor with guitarists for its low wattage and sweet, dynamic tone. The open back cab and single 12 ceramic speaker produce a range of sounds from clean Fender sparkle to rich overdrive with the twist of a knob. Particularly valued for their usefulness in the studio, the Musicmaster Bass is one of the most popular and enduring circuits from the Silverface era. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and everything is working as it should, with the original RCA-branded 6AQ5 power tubes. Both the output and power transformers have 1970 date codes. The 12 CTS speaker has a very clean frame, original cone, and original round Fender label, with a date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 16th week of 1970. Cosmetically, the amp is quite clean and completely original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe. On the polished aluminum faceplate, all of the blue lettering is present, and the original raised “Fender” logo is intact on the grill. All of the original hardware is present, including the rare Starcaster-style knobs only seen on the first iteration of this amp. Sure, there are a few small scuffs on the tolex and faint wear on the grill, but overall this is a very clean amp that would look great on stage or in the studio. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Jensen C12N speaker pair and two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The Reverb has plenty of depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a nice deep chop. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is extremely original, with the original compliment of Schumacher transformers (Fender’s largest supplier of Blackface-era transformers), dating between late 1965 and the first weeks of’66. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65, and the chassis stamp notes a 1966 build date. The preamp is untouched save for a few small electrolytic capacitors, and the amp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The power supply has also been professionally recapped. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed, and the amp is loaded with mostly vintage valves including a pair of likely original RCA 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen C12NA 12 ceramic drivers, and the speakers date to the 30th week of’65 with original foil stickers on the magnets and clan black frames. The tube chart is also fully intact inside the cabinet with crisp corners and a PB stamp which translates to February of 1966. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after half a century. The cloth has only faint aging, and the tolex shows only some minor scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and handle. The faceplate is extremely clean, with a full compliment of witch hat knobs. This Pro Reverb has vintage tubes, a very original circuit, and a desirable Jensen C12NA speaker pair, sounding every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should! Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Princeton in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With its narrow panel configuration, this Princeton is considered the “big box” version, with a cab that’s far larger than the single 8 alnico speaker requires, and the resulting sound is deceptively round and rich for the relatively small speaker size. The circuit couldn’t be more simple and pure, with single Volume and Tone knobs and a Class A circuit design, powered by a single 6V6 power tube. The tone is articulate, dynamic and commanding, with the sizzle and churning overdrive of a Champ, but with more tonal range and fuller low end. The top end response is just right, and the amp doesn’t get too trebly, making the tone control quite usable for dialing in exactly as much zing and snap as you desire. The circuit is very original and serviced as necessary for optimal functionality, retaining the original transformer pair, with a Schumacher power transformer that dates to the 49th week of’59. The original Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and a couple blue Ajax capacitors are intact, with the pots dating to the 52nd week of 1959. The power supply caps and smaller electrolytics have been replaced with high quality modern Samwha and Sprague caps. The tubes are all vintage valves with a Bogen-branded USA-made 6V6, and RCA-made 5Y3 rectifier and 12AX7 tubes. The speaker is an era-correct Oxford 8 driver which has been professionally reconed, with a very clean gray frame and wiring harness with RCA end. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet. There is notable ambering of the original tweed, with a few bald corners and modest scuffing on the enclosure edges. The faceplate is quite clean, with the majority of the white silkscreened text, shiny chrome, and a pair of original chicken head knobs.
