When it comes to pure, simple, straight forward style and tone… THIS IS THE DEAL! Designed to work for bass or guitar it is BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, AWESOME. This is a VINTAGE 1967 NATIONAL BASS AMP. MODEL 70 TUBE AMPLIFIER with TWO C12NA JENSEN SPEAKERS, THINK SUPRO, VALCO, AIRLINE. It is a combo amp with two independent 35 watt. Power amplifiers, one for each speaker. It is complete and functions properly. The controls are clean, no scratchy pots. The tube line up… Two matched pairs of Russian Sovtek 6L6′s (one pair branded Fender, the other branded Electro Harmonix), a USA RCA 12AX7 and a Russian Winged C 12AX7. It has a few dings and scuffs and some light staining of the grill cloth, but overall in exceptional condition, especially considering it is over 50 years old. There are three different tone setting that give you control of the bottom end of the tone spectrum… Guitar=light bass, Hi Bass=more bass, Low Bass=rich, thick, meaty, all-you-could-possibly-want, most bass. This amp sounds awesome. Articulate, clean power even at higher levels. BIG KNOBS, CHROME CHASSIS, GOLD’NATIONAL’ LOGO, SILVER SPARKLE GRILL CLOTH, TWO TEXTURES OF TOLEX with PIPING, REFRIGERATOR HANDLE… A 1960′s WORK OF ART! I never use UPS. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Old electronic can fail at any time. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. You should not have to live with something you are unhappy with for any reason. If you alter, modify, change or “repair” the item in anyway without my consent, you are accepting the item “as is”, at the price paid. All items are packed for safety. One of the best Fender mamps ever made I my and probably many other humble opinion. Clear and present cleans, and dial past 5 to start getting that natural Fender break-up. This amp is in mostly original form. Speaker and Reverb tank have been swapped. By looks, the speaker looks to be an Eminence, but I cannot tell for sure. It sounds good to my ears. The Verb tank is a monster MOD tank (see pic). It also appears a big capacitor has been replaced. I know of no others for sure. Original iron and tranny’s date it to’78. Amp plays and pushes air nicely. Minor blems, but tolex is in what I would call good shape for the age. I took a close mic’d vid of the amp being played to hear, and see it’s ready to go. I will pack this amp with great care, and insure it to a tee. Not in a hurry, but I have a Princeton problem and at least one or two need to move on and see more action. Vintage Rogers HG88 Mk2 Valve Amplifier. Refurbished inside including cabinet this is what they looked like back in the day. Fully working gives nice warm sound as you would expect from a vintage amplifier. In one of the photos you will see all the components I changed to get it working. I have disconnected all of the 3 double bias capacitors because they are toast I have marked them with black tape but left them in place to preserve the amps originality. Replacement bias capacitors are fitted underneath all 6 can be seen in the photos marked with a white arrow. The replacements I used are rubicon black gate (100uf at 50v) more than capable of doing the job. Because the previous owner had been using this amplifier with worn bias capacitors it has reduced the life output valves (ecl86)they could do with replacing in the near future. It has been brought up to voltage with a variac and tested. All functions seem to work, but it is very scratchy when turning controls and will need further attention including a good pot cleaning. You may want to recap as well. I noticed no excessive heat other than the normal tube heat. No humming came through in the sound as I tested. I ran it for 45 minutes and then powered it down. It will be packed very carefully , bubbled, and double boxed with both cushioned protection for tubes, as well as foam board layers all around. This is a pair of the Heathkit W-5M model mono amplifiers. They are in clean condition and I have not plugged them in or tested them at all as they probably need to be brought up slowly to avoid damage to them. Both of them have the pair of Genalax KT66 tubes in them that I haven’t tested as well. They both have the silver Peerless/Altec Lansing 16458 output transformers in them and both have the Peerless stickers on them. The cabinets show some scratches on the gold front and sides and the black covers have some age type spots of wear on them as well and one is missing the Heathkit nameplate. VINTAGE GIBSON GA-5 VACUUM TUBE GUITAR AMP REBUILT RECAPPED 10 WATT AMPLIFIER. This is a nice, vacuum tube, Gibson GA-5 Skylark guitar amplifier. It makes about 10 watts of sound. The amp tone controls give it a wide range of tone from ice pick to train. The amp is pedal friendly and makes it a rock machine. This Skylark was probably made around the mid 1960′s so it is approaching 60 years old. That why these amps are refurbished. The new filter capacitors and signal caps bring the tone back to life. Resistors where replaced when more than ten percent out of balance. Taking these steps make these tube amps durable and reliable. The amp sounds new but still looks vintage. The tolex on this amp is tough and lightly cleaned. There are a few worn spots, loose edges and some paint spots but not too bad. The speaker on the amp was replaced with a vintage CTS alnico speaker. The “death cap” was removed. A grounded power cord was added. A new handle that closely resemble the old was added. New feet were added. The back panel is gone. I tried to keep it looking original. This is a Skylark model that uses a solid state rectifier, one 12AU7 preamp tube and a pair of EL84/6BQ5 power tubes. All three tubes are vintage, US-made tubes. I was not able to find a schematic of this Skylark model but was not required for rebuild. Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This first-year iteration of the narrow panel 5E3 Tweed-era circuit has the distinctive “small box” cabinet seen only on Deluxes produced in’55, notably more compact than the cabinets used from 1956-60 and significantly rarer. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is extremely original, boasting both stock Triad transformers. The amp has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with new Sprague Atom filter caps and smaller electrolytics. The amp is loaded with red Astron-style modern Jupiter caps in the preamp, with two newer CTS pots and one original Stackpole pot which dates back to the 51st week of’54. The Stackpole Tone pot also retains its original yellow Astron capacitor and distinctive “domino” Cornell Dubilier resistor. Tubes include matched RCA 6V6 power tubes, a vintage 5Y3 rectifier and one vintage RCA preamp tube paired with a complimentary modern Groove Tubes-branded valve. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 31st week of’55 and retains the original Jensen foil label on the magnet bell as well as the speaker harness with cloth-covered wire and stock 1/4 input. The tube chart is intact with a handwritten serial that matches the chassis and an “EH” date stamp which translates to August of 1955. The chassis itself retains the identical “EH” stamps. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. The original tweed shows deep ambering and some light wear on the enclosure edges. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and in great shape. The leather handle is a modern replacement, and the back panels are custom made to fit the unique small box cabinet, both featuring new tweed aged to match the otherwise original covering on the cabinet. The stock badge on the amp’s face simply says “Fender, ” a holdover from the earlier Tweeds before the longer “Fender Deluxe” badge that would be seen in subsequent years.
