Vintage 50s Gibson BR-9 Tube Amp Amplifier With Jensen Speaker Excellent Condit. This an example of a perfect closet classic. This amp is from around 1956 as the Jensen field coil speaker is dated 1956. As the pictures show this amp was probably stashed in a closet for 50 years. It is completely original EXCEPT it has been professionally recapped using sprague and custom built capacitors and a 3 prong power cord has been added for safety. There is zero rust, zero corrosion, the wiring isn’t brittle or cracking and the solder joints are all original except as noted for recapping. There are a few few scuffs and small dings here and there but overall it’s in just amazing shape for a 65 year old amp. I think it’s eligible for medicare this year. This one has 2 6V6 power tubes, tube rectifier and preamp tube and I suspect they are all original also. The amp sounds wonderful to my ears. Clean and clear up to about 3/4 volume and then it starts to break up into a badass crunch. This amp has the serial number stamped into the chassis upside down so I suspect it was probably earmarked for another model like the BR-6. Gibson is famous for mixing and matching parts in the 50′s. This would be a great amp for studio, acoustic gigs or for that collector that seeks minty old gear. 1955 Fender Deluxe Vintage Tweed Tube Amp, Excellent+ Condition, All Original. Amp is in collector-worthy excellent+ condition and is all original (includes the original tubes). Model 5D3 with the more-desirable 12AX7 and 12AY7 preamp tubes. Amp functions as it should and sounds great (I just tested it before creating this listing). It has very low hum noise for its age and originality. I recommend servicing if you intend to use this amp regularly, due to its age. Date code on schematic is January 1955. “Julia” is present on the builder’s masking tape in the chassis. Speaker dates to 51st week of 1954. It has just been completely refurbished by the vintage Fender experts at Pittsburgh Amplification, including new Tolex covering, grill cloth and cabinet hardware. The original hardware is included in the sale along with the original footswitch. This extremely beautiful amplifier sounds just as good as it looks. 135 ultralinear all tube watts from four 6L6 power tubes into two 12 Italian Jensen C12Ns, the epitome of loud clean. Two channels, Normal and Vibrato, each with Fender’s infamous three band EQ stack and bright switch. The Vibrato channel has footswitchable tube driven spring tank reverb and Fender’s signature opto-electric vibrato. Master volume with pull-boost. This particular amp sounds particularly good. Nice deep vibrato and clean reverb. And its looks are superb. A real amp to be proud of, the silverface Twin for the guitarist who can afford the very best. No reasonable offer refused.
