Up for sale, a 1965 Univox Model 10 tube combo amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Incredibly rare with very little documentation available, this particularly early Japanese-made Univox combo comes with a stock Jensen C12R speaker and a pair of 6AQ5 power tubes. Sonically, this amp has a rich, warm character that overdrives nicely with a churning response. Not overly bright at any setting, the amp works well with single coils in particular to provide a bit of extra cut and bite. The simple controls consist of a Volume knob, Tone knob, and a Speed control for the Tremolo effect, which can be engaged via footswitch. The circuit has been thoroughly serviced and recapped as needed, and the original transformers and pots are intact. The tube compliment consists of two 12AX7s in the preamp, a pair of 6AQ5 power tubes, and a 6X4 rectifier. The ostensibly original Jensen C12R has a speaker has a clean black frame, small foil sticker on the ceramic magnet, and date code from the 13th week of 1965. Cosmetically, this amp is in good shape, with original two-tone gray and cream covering, gold sparkle grillcloth, leather handle, and Univox badge on the front. The clean control panel contains clean silkscreen graphics and a trio of stock barrel knobs. There is modest wear on the enclosure edges, yet overall this extremely rare Univox amp presents very well. VINTAGE 1970 AMPEG AC 12 AMPLIFIER, VERY RARE AMP ALL ORIGINAL & IT WORKS JUST FINE!! This is an original Ampeg AC 12 amp with the exception of a anti feedback factory patch this is the same amp as a GU 12 amp, for those who doubt that do a little research before running to the Man!!! Tubes have been tested and are working well. I do have the footswitch and the original hangtag stuff, all cool to have. Shows less than normal wear for a 40 + year old amp. Up for sale, a 1940′s Vega Commander 1×10 tube amp, honestly worn and freshly serviced. A very unique amp with more in common visually with a console radio of the era than most conventional guitar amps, this Vega features a natural-finished birdseye maple face with brown leatherette back and sides. With two channels that have a similar gain structure, the amp stays clean and warm from 1-4 on the dial, with more grit and bite from 5-8, and a sizzling, tight roar when you dime it out. This amp can deliver some serious bark while keeping things focused and round in the bass register. Never too ratty and quite refined, with a glassy top end response, this Vega is a real vintage gem powered by a single 6L6 power tube. The circuit features the original transformers, with many of the original tone caps intact in the preamp and new caps as necessary to keep everything working as intended. All of the tubes are vintage valves from the likes of RCA, Ken-Rad, and Sylvania. The original Jensen 10 alnico speaker is intact, functioning as intended. The cable is a vintage two-prong. The faceplate is quite clean with the trio of original deep brown chicken head knobs, and the birdseye maple face shows its fair share of darkening and surface wear. A brand-new leather handle has been installed, and the brown leatherette shows some expected minor tears and edge wear from the past 70+ years. Both back panels are present too. DESCRIPTION Here’s one beautiful Pair (2 pieces) of increasingly rare Atlas Alnico Super Tweeters! These are basically clones of the famous Jensen RP302, and are rumored to even share the same diaphragms. Tested through a crossover to moderate volume. The voice coils measure 7.1 and 9.8 ohms (DC Resistance). IMPORTANT NOTE: It’s HIGHLY-SUGGESTED that you only solder to the existing wires attached to these tweeters. The voice coil wire is about the size of a human hair on these, is also attached to the solder terminal, and is EXTREMELY fragile. These are not flawed, this is by design the way they were made. Up for sale, a 1963 Ampeg B-15N “Flip-Top” Portaflex tube amplifier in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. This exceedingly clean B-15N is a very early example with gleaming chrome, blue diamond tolex, the original full set of matched Ampeg-branded tubes, original Jensen EM1501 speaker, rare tilt-back rod, and original trolley. As the amp that defined the Motown bass sound and a must-have for studios worldwide, the B-15N is the undisputed king of vintage bass tone, with a thick, thumpy sound that is round, detailed, and versatile, bringing out the best in your instrument’s natural tonal characteristics. The two channels each have a unique voice, with Channel One being a bit more mellow and smooth, while Channel Two has a touch more grit and bite, also making it an excellent choice for guitar (diming this channel out delivers a particularly nice overdriven roar with a humbucker or P-90 equipped instrument). Just given a checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this B-15N is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit features all of the original capacitors, untouched solder joints, and CTS pots which date to the 18th week of 1962. The stock transformers are present, and the serial number sticker inside the cabinet dates to February of 1963. The original multi-pin connection between the head and cab is intact, as is the original two-prong power cable. This ceramic driver sound clear and powerful, keeping low frequencies rich and focused. The original tit-back rod is secured inside the cabinet, a feature only seen on the B-15N until 1964. Cosmetically, this amp is the nicest early B-15N we’ve ever had in the shop, with flawless silkscreen text on a near mint chrome-plated chassis. The stock latches are still mounted to the original tray, and the head features four new shockmounts between the head and tray. All of the original hardware is present including the light up lucite “Ampeg” logo (with a custom Ampeg-factory inscription ostensibly for the original owner) and all of the original knobs. The trolley is original as well. The blue diamond tolex is original and exceedingly clean with some wear on the trolley tolex but only a few minor scuffs on the speaker enclosure edges. Vintage 1960′s Univox grey tweed guitar tube amp with matching tremolo pedal- one 12 inch Jensen special design speaker, 5 tubes. Volume, tone, tremolo speed with pedal, guitar & aux inputs, everything works. The cabinet looks good with standard wear, no tears in the grillcloth. The front wood has standard wear, wood chips and a little fraying of the cloth on the bottom. The univox name has long been missing but my expert vintage amp repair man identified it. Very cool working tube amp from the 60′s with a great vintage look. There is a nice demo of one on youtube under Univox test, it is a 26 second clip with also some specs.
