You are looking at a Vintage 1960′s Lafayette by Univox U-320 2×12 All Tube Combo Amp. Univox was the builder on Lafayette amps. They are virtually a clone of Univox. These amps are real sleepers. They have great Tone. Lafayette was a budget economy amp back in the 1960′s, but just like Valco they are appreciated for their Tone. We have upgraded this amp with 2 Jensen C12R speakers. These speakers provide warm low and mid response with smooth/bright highs. When presented with overdrive distortion, it presents smooth crunch with low-end focus. If you are after that mid sixties trashy rock tone, this amp will do the trick. Our Amp Tech just serviced this amp. You won’t have to spend any additional monies on it. Gig Ready on Arrival! Keep in mind that this is a 55+ year old vintage amp that has been used. There are scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the tolex. Some light scratches on the instrument control bezel. Vintage Univox ULM-6 1×10 5-watt tube combo. Works well, but cuts out occasionally when driven hard. Looks like the speaker may be a replacement, maybe wrong type and why the amp is cutting out. Sounds awesome when it works. Doesn’t cut out when playing at lower volume, works fine then. Someone painted the tolex, you may want to change that. Looks to be original 2 prong cord. Portable and absolutely killer sounding 1×10 combo amp, oft heralded as the. 5 watts of power from one 12AX7 (you can insert others if you like for lower gain) and one 6V6 power tube (comes with a “Made in Holland” 6V6GT). Vintage 1960′s Univox grey tweed guitar tube amp with matching tremolo pedal- one 12 inch Jensen special design speaker, 5 tubes. Volume, tone, tremolo speed with pedal, guitar & aux inputs, everything works. The cabinet looks good with standard wear, no tears in the grillcloth. The front wood has standard wear, wood chips and a little fraying of the cloth on the bottom. The univox name has long been missing but my expert vintage amp repair man identified it. Very cool working tube amp from the 60′s with a great vintage look. There is a nice demo of one on youtube under Univox test, it is a 26 second clip with also some specs. HEREs a rare lil bird, it’s a orpheum tube amp, also badged univox.. 64-5 has single great Britain vintage EL 84 and pre amps 12 ax7, s n rectifier is a vintage ez81.. Thing has footswitch trilogy that’s got speed n rate type controls, anazibg sounding tremolo, great lil old tube amp… I was told it was probably valco made.. Anyone w info I can add pls send it.. Orig spkr was dried n split.. W univox instead orpheum.. All caps seem orig, voiced w ceramics n mica, n pop caps, n is pretty quite on idle , despite its orig 2 prong cord…. S early Asis n is roughly 55 yrs old.. Has fender 12spkr….. I have orig light alnico spkr.. I’m caregiving my elderly sick mom in Fla… Amp been at her place for long while…. Great to mic n use in a studio like tool for tones ya can only get from these sleeper amps…. Since in all way in south Fla… Hope this goes to good handy home… Def unique lil amp.. Plywood n pine cab it seems… Def not thick like a super reverb… This was a bedroom amp… And seems like a time machine looking inside…. Will be boxed well n carefully.
