1980 Music Man 112RP Sixty-Five Vintage 1x12 Tube Amp with Reverb & Phasor

Up for sale, a 1980 Music Man 112RP Sixty-Five in exceptional condition and perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Launched in 1975, Music Man was founded by former Fender Plant Manager Forrest White, former Fender Sales Rep Tom Walker, and Leo Fender himself, with their very first product being an amplifier known as the “Sixty Five”. Being a hybrid affair, this amp matches a solid state preamp to an all tube power section, in this case EL-34s, providing plenty of headroom, with the warmth and fullness of a tube power section that can get as gritty as you want when the tubes are cooking! Making that easier, the amp features a Hi/Lo power switch, which actually works differently than most in that it’s not a 1/2 power switch, but rather a control for how much plate voltage the power tubes see, giving you control over the clean headroom where “Lo” is similar to a typical amp, and “Hi” sends a colder bias to the tubes. Tonally, this amp is very much in Fender territory with bold, sparkly cleans and dynamic grit. A later iteration of the Sixty-Five platform, this “RP” variant features onboard Reverb and Phasor [sic]. The three-spring Reverb is lush with a long decay, and the Phasor has a low noise floor (given where the effect is placed within the circuit) and rich, swooping textures. The amp also features Treble and Bass boost switches which adjust frequency ranges outside the Bass/Middle/Treble knobs for, as the original Music Man manual puts it, the equivalent of five-band equalization. The circuit is clean and virtually untouched, and the Schumacher transformers date to early 1980. The original CTS pots date to the 14th week of 1980. The tubes are a pair of properly biased USA-made Sylvania EL-34s that have plenty of life left. The speaker is the original Eminence-made ceramic magnet 12 driver with a minty black frame and clean Music Man foil sticker on the magnet. Cosmetically, this amp is extremely clean, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. Naturally, there are a few minor scuffs and a touch of patina on the hardware, yet as the photos show this is a very well-kept vintage Music Man. The original two button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Musicmaster Bass 1×12 tube amplifier in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, featuring the original matching RCA tube set. While designed as a companion for the Fender bass of the same name, this Class A/B 6AQ5-powered tube amp has found favor with guitarists for its low wattage and sweet, dynamic tone. The open back cab and single 12 ceramic speaker produce a range of sounds from clean Fender sparkle to rich overdrive with the twist of a knob. Particularly valued for their usefulness in the studio, the Musicmaster Bass is one of the most popular and enduring circuits from the Silverface era. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and everything is working as it should, with the original RCA-branded 6AQ5 power tubes. Both the output and power transformers have 1970 date codes. The 12 CTS speaker has a very clean frame, original cone, and original round Fender label, with a date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 16th week of 1970. Cosmetically, the amp is quite clean and completely original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe. On the polished aluminum faceplate, all of the blue lettering is present, and the original raised “Fender” logo is intact on the grill. All of the original hardware is present, including the rare Starcaster-style knobs only seen on the first iteration of this amp. Sure, there are a few small scuffs on the tolex and faint wear on the grill, but overall this is a very clean amp that would look great on stage or in the studio. 1962 Fender Vibrolux Vintage Tube Amp Brownface Pre-CBS 1x12 Combo, 6G11 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12L5N speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to early-1962. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp courtesy of Mercury Magnetic’s Tone Clone series. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to late’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, along with new bias and bypass caps in the preamp. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The power tubes are a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6-GE small bottle valves, with matching Groove Tubes in the preamp and an Amperex “bugle boy” rectifier. The Oxford speaker is original, dating to the 4th week of’62 and sporting a very clean frame and original cone. The stock speaker harness is intact as well, and inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact with an LG date stamp, translating to July of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, and the enclosure shows only some requisite minor marks and scuffs, with light wear through the tolex on the bottom corners of the cabinet. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1961 Fender Bandmaster Vintage Pre-CBS Tube Amp Blonde with 1x12 Tone Ring Cab

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Bandmaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Extremely original and complete right down to the matched pair of original “dogbone” handles and even the stock speaker cable, this is the very first iteration of the “Piggyback” Bandmaster with a head/cab configuration, decked out in original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. What makes this exceedingly early Brownface Bandmaster stand out from the pack is the Tone Ring 1×12 speaker cabinet, loaded with a vintage Oxford 12L6 alnico magnet speaker. An elegant and ingenious idea (yet not cost effective for Fender), the Tone Ring design was dropped in mid-1961. This Brownface circuit drives two matched vintage Sylvania small bottle 6L6 power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube goodness. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brownface circuits are very dynamic and responsive, delivering Fender’s hi-fi glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a positively huge sweep, from thick and mellow to biting, twangy snap. After around 5 on the volume dial, the amp cascades into very rich tube overdrive that compresses a bit and feels slightly loose and gritty in just the right way without losing too much clarity. It’s the kind of natural tube overdrive that only comes from pushing a well-designed Fender circuit. The Harmonic Vibrato circuit is also a complex design only found on the top tier Brownface models, utilizing three tubes and creating a lush pitch shifting effect that has more in common with a Leslie or Chorus than a traditional tremolo. As previously noted, one very unique and desirable feature of this Bandmaster is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This 1×12 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone via the Oxford speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This design makes the cabinet work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response, and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. The circuit is very original and has been well-maintained and recently serviced. The full compliment of original Schumacher-made transformers (Fender’s largest transformer supplier in th era) are intact, with date codes spanning the 25th-43rd weeks of’61. The preamp is virtually untouched, with all of the famed yellow Astron and blue Ajax tone caps intact, along with all of the original CTS pots which date to the 34th week of’61, carbon comp resistors, and cloth-covered wire. The filter caps and smaller bypass caps have been upgraded with modern components to ensure optimal performance. The tube compliment includes a pair of matched small bottle vintage Sylvania 6L6 power tubes, and the preamp tubes are a combination of modern and vintage valves. Cosmetically, this is an excellent and well-kept example of one of Fender’s rarest Pre-CBS designs, with clean and original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. Both the head and cab feature original unbroken brown “dogbone” molded Fender handles too, a true rarity. The Tone Ring cab retains its original baffles, ring, and fiberglass insulation sheets, and the back panel has the distinctive vertical slats only seen on Tone Ring cabs. The faceplate and backplate are in great shape, and all of the original cream barrel knobs are present. Both flat Fender logos are original on the head and cab and all additional stock hardware is present too, with tilt-back chrome legs, leg stops, sphinx glides (feet), nickel corners, and piggyback clip bars. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 2015 Vintage 47 VA-185G Classic Series 1×12 combo tube amp in near mint condition and in perfect working order. The EH-185 was made famous in the late 1930s and early’40s by guitar greats such as Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian, and the amp delivers a distinctive low gain harmonic-rich overdrive with the complex midrange character of an octal valve-driven preamp. In addition to nailing the sonics of the original, the Vintage 47 rounds out the period-correct aesthetics with a lacquered tweed-covered cabinet bisected by a red racing stripe, central rear-mounted chassis with Gibson-style graphics, chicken head knobs, and a leather handle. The VA-185G is simplicity at its finest, and the point-to-point wired circuit boasts individual Volume and Tone controls for the single channel design, with dual 1/4 Instrument jacks and a lower gain 1/4 Mic input. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes in a Class AB push pull configuration for 15 sweet, all-tube watts. The power tubes are cathode biased (no biasing required), and a GZ34 rectifier, 6SN7 inverter, and a NOS metal jacketed 6SQ7 round out the tube compliment. The speaker is the original Tone Tubby alnico magnet 12 driver, with a clean black frame and V47 foil sticker on the magnet. Cosmetically, this combo tube amp is in near mint condition. The finger-jointed baltic birch cabinet is covered in lacquered tweed, which is clean as can be, and the silkscreening on the control panel is perfectly preserved with a pair of red chicken head knobs. A fitted cover is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1965 Univox Model 10 Vintage Tube Combo Amp 1x12 with Jensen, 6AQ5 Tubes, Japan

Up for sale, a 1965 Univox Model 10 tube combo amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Incredibly rare with very little documentation available, this particularly early Japanese-made Univox combo comes with a stock Jensen C12R speaker and a pair of 6AQ5 power tubes. Sonically, this amp has a rich, warm character that overdrives nicely with a churning response. Not overly bright at any setting, the amp works well with single coils in particular to provide a bit of extra cut and bite. The simple controls consist of a Volume knob, Tone knob, and a Speed control for the Tremolo effect, which can be engaged via footswitch. The circuit has been thoroughly serviced and recapped as needed, and the original transformers and pots are intact. The tube compliment consists of two 12AX7s in the preamp, a pair of 6AQ5 power tubes, and a 6X4 rectifier. The ostensibly original Jensen C12R has a speaker has a clean black frame, small foil sticker on the ceramic magnet, and date code from the 13th week of 1965. Cosmetically, this amp is in good shape, with original two-tone gray and cream covering, gold sparkle grillcloth, leather handle, and Univox badge on the front. The clean control panel contains clean silkscreen graphics and a trio of stock barrel knobs. There is modest wear on the enclosure edges, yet overall this extremely rare Univox amp presents very well. Loaded with vintage tubes and freshly serviced, this Univox is ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1967 Fender Deluxe Non-Reverb 1x12 Vintage Blackface Tube Amp, AB763

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Featuring the famed AB763 circuit, this amp has an incredible amount of headroom and power, something that instantly sets it apart from its reverb-equipped brother. Since the addition of the reverb effect into the Fender circuit essentially adds another gain stage, the non-reverb Deluxe really stands out as Fender’s premier 1×12 Blackface combo amp, with incredible warmth, EQ balance, and clarity. Perfect as a platform for pedals and an ideal amp for studio use, this Deluxe captures the quintessential Fender clean sound, with smooth tube overdrive and a hint of compression at higher volumes. The tremolo has a strong, even pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is extremely original, and the stock Schumacher-made transformers date to Fall of’66. The power supply has been professionally recapped along with a new bias capacitor and three-prong power cable to keep everything operating within original factory specifications. The circuit is otherwise untouched, with all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps intact in the preamp. These caps are essential to the rich, musical quality of the Blackface-era circuits. The CTS pots are all stock as well with visible date codes from the 18th week of’66. The power tubes are a pair of Russian-made and Groove Tubes-branded 6V6s, along with a vintage Mullard GZ34 rectifier. The preamp tubes are all newer valves from the likes of Groove Tubes and JJ. The speaker is a vintage Utah 12 with a very clean black frame and original blue foil Fender label on the magnet. The original tube chart is intact and particularly clean, with a “QA” date code that translates to January of 1967. Cosmetically, this is an extremely clean and well cared for amplifier, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. As the photos show, the tolex is extremely tidy and the faceplate is quite clean as well, with a set of minty witch hat knobs. This Deluxe would look great in a studio and is an example that will satisfy players and collectors alike. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in the beginning of the brief Brownface era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, only serviced as needed for optimal performance. Providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later, this Deluxe offers everything from rich and mellow tonalities to twangy and crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect! The circuit features the original Schumacher output transformer which dates back to the 49th week of 1960, while the power transformer is a USA-made boutique Mercury Tone Clone drop in transformer, faithfully replicating the original. The chassis itself is remarkably clean with limited oxidation and general wear. The Stackpole pots are all intact and the preamp features the full compliment of original blue molded Ajax tone caps. The original bypass caps in the preamp and larger filter caps have been replaced with modern Spragues, and the new caps have been neatly sleeved in their original Astron brown wrappers. The tube compliment includes a vintage pair of matched General Electric 6V6 power tubes, with an Amperex 5AR4 rectifier and a combination of vintage and modern valves in the preamp. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a minty frame and date code from the 4th week of 1962, also retaining the exceedingly rare brown metal bell cover for the magnet and Fender foil sticker. The speaker has also just been professionally reconed. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is fully intact too, with an “LE” date stamp that translates to May of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp is remarkably clean, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, and the faceplate is positively gleaming, retaining its full compliment of brown barrel knobs.
