1967 Fender Deluxe Non-Reverb 1x12 Vintage Blackface Tube Amp, AB763

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Featuring the famed AB763 circuit, this amp has an incredible amount of headroom and power, something that instantly sets it apart from its reverb-equipped brother. Since the addition of the reverb effect into the Fender circuit essentially adds another gain stage, the non-reverb Deluxe really stands out as Fender’s premier 1×12 Blackface combo amp, with incredible warmth, EQ balance, and clarity. Perfect as a platform for pedals and an ideal amp for studio use, this Deluxe captures the quintessential Fender clean sound, with smooth tube overdrive and a hint of compression at higher volumes. The tremolo has a strong, even pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is extremely original, and the stock Schumacher-made transformers date to Fall of’66. The power supply has been professionally recapped along with a new bias capacitor and three-prong power cable to keep everything operating within original factory specifications. The circuit is otherwise untouched, with all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps intact in the preamp. These caps are essential to the rich, musical quality of the Blackface-era circuits. The CTS pots are all stock as well with visible date codes from the 18th week of’66. The power tubes are a pair of Russian-made and Groove Tubes-branded 6V6s, along with a vintage Mullard GZ34 rectifier. The preamp tubes are all newer valves from the likes of Groove Tubes and JJ. The speaker is a vintage Utah 12 with a very clean black frame and original blue foil Fender label on the magnet. The original tube chart is intact and particularly clean, with a “QA” date code that translates to January of 1967. Cosmetically, this is an extremely clean and well cared for amplifier, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. As the photos show, the tolex is extremely tidy and the faceplate is quite clean as well, with a set of minty witch hat knobs. This Deluxe would look great in a studio and is an example that will satisfy players and collectors alike. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in the beginning of the brief Brownface era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, only serviced as needed for optimal performance. Providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later, this Deluxe offers everything from rich and mellow tonalities to twangy and crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect! The circuit features the original Schumacher output transformer which dates back to the 49th week of 1960, while the power transformer is a USA-made boutique Mercury Tone Clone drop in transformer, faithfully replicating the original. The chassis itself is remarkably clean with limited oxidation and general wear. The Stackpole pots are all intact and the preamp features the full compliment of original blue molded Ajax tone caps. The original bypass caps in the preamp and larger filter caps have been replaced with modern Spragues, and the new caps have been neatly sleeved in their original Astron brown wrappers. The tube compliment includes a vintage pair of matched General Electric 6V6 power tubes, with an Amperex 5AR4 rectifier and a combination of vintage and modern valves in the preamp. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a minty frame and date code from the 4th week of 1962, also retaining the exceedingly rare brown metal bell cover for the magnet and Fender foil sticker. The speaker has also just been professionally reconed. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is fully intact too, with an “LE” date stamp that translates to May of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp is remarkably clean, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, and the faceplate is positively gleaming, retaining its full compliment of brown barrel knobs. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1960 Ampeg Guitaramp 518 Dolphin Special Vintage Tube Amp 1x12 Navy Random Flair

Up for sale, a 1960 Ampeg Guitaramp 518 Dolphin Special vintage tube amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Not to be confused with the numerous “Jet” reissues offered by Ampeg over the decades, this is a genuine original model 518 with early and rare “Navy Random Flair” tolex only used on the first few years of production. The tone is extremely dynamic and sensitive to your pick attack, and while the amp can deliver a slightly scooped clean tone at low volumes, this Ampeg has an incredible amount of gain on tap with an abundance of rich, warm, bold tones at hand. At around 4 on the volume dial the amp starts to sizzle and roar with a compressed churn, and the tone control is particularly responsive for thickening or thinning out the sound as necessary. It’s an ideal recording amp with a surprising amount of volume via a vintage alnico Ampro Deluxe 12 speaker. The circuit remains very original, having been freshly serviced in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and recapped as necessary to ensure optimal performance. The original transformers are intact, and the amp has been fitted with a new three-prong power cable. The tube compliment includes a pair of new, freshly biased Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes, with vintage Sylvania and General Electric-branded valves for the preamp and rectifier. The vintage Ampro Deluxe speaker has a very clean frame with original foil label on the bell cover, and the speaker has been freshly reconed. Visible inside the cabinet, the tube chart is also fully intact with a serial number from 1960. Cosmetically, this amp is clean for an enclosure pushing 60, with original Navy Random Flair tolex (deep blue with silver sparkles), silver sparkle grill cloth, and new leather handle. The tolex is completely intact, with light peeling at the seams, and aging in the grillcloth. On the chrome faceplate, most of the original white silkscreen lettering is intact and the chrome plating shows light patina. The full compliment of original knobs is present too. This is a very clean and professionally serviced example of an uncommon, early Ampeg model. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. 1960 Magnatone Custom 250 Vintage Tube Amp 1x12 with Oxford 12L5, Vibrato, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1960 Magnatone Custom 250 tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rarity in any condition, this vintage Magnatone is 100% original aside from a couple capacitors swapped to keep everything operating within original factory spec. Even the tube set is a complete vintage compliment from the likes of RCA, General Electric, Amperex, and Sylvania. One of the cooler and less common mid-size Estey-era Magnatone amps, the 250 boasts a single 12 alnico Oxford 12L5N speaker powered by a pair of 6973 power tubes. The characteristics of the 6973 valve are similar to the more common EL84, with a smooth midrange character and dynamic breakup at higher volumes with perfect top end bite. Whether you’re looking for surfy hollow twang or surprisingly thick overdrive, this Magnatone easily supplies a range of classic tube driven textures. Magnatone’s legendary frequency modulated pitch shifting vibrato effect is present on the Custom 250, with a width and warble unequalled in tube amp design. This vibrato circuit is in one word “lush, ” and while it functions in mono inside the speaker cabinet, a 1/4 extension speaker jack allows the effect to bounce back and forth between two cabs if desired. The vibrato can be engaged via the included original “doorstop” footswitch. The point-to-point circuit boasts the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 34th and 36th weeks of 1960. The original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp have a smooth and musical character, and are the same caps at the heart of Fender’s Blackface era circuits. Other date codes of note include CTS pots which date to the 31st week of’60 and the original Oxford 12L5N speaker which dates to the 40th week of 60. The faceplate is notably clean, with all of the stock knobs and graphics present. The original smooth brown leatherette covering is in remarkable shape, and while the corners show some customary light wear and scuffs, the amp presents very well. The brown and gold grillcloth is similarly clean, and the original Magnatone logo is intact with a slightly bent chevron wing. 1947 Magnatone Troubadour M-192-5 Vintage Tube Guitar Amp 1x12, First Year Model

Up for sale, a 1947 Magnatone Troubadour model M-192-5 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A very rare first year production model, this 1×12 tube amp is extremely original and has been thoroughly gone over by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar to ensure optimal playability. With a preamp driven by octal tubes, the amp has a complex, sweet, and harmonically rich tone that sounds very natural and dynamic. The amp lets the voice of your guitar’s pickups shine through and has a distinctly different response with every guitar that’s put in front of it. Single coils can sound jangly and clear, while P-90s and humbuckers can push the circuit into rich overdrive. The circuit retains the original generously-sized. Transformer which dates to the 2nd week of’47, and the original output transformer is intact too, mounted to the speaker frame. The circuit retains the original pots in the true point-to-point wired circuit, with new signal and filter caps as necessary to ensure optimal performance. The speaker is the original alnico magnet Rola with a clean silver frame and date stamp from the 4th week of’47. The speaker has been reconed in the amp’s lifetime, and new leads from the output transformer to the chassis were cleanly soldered to the original leads post-recone. The faceplate is remarkably clean with all of the original graphics as well as the trio of white chicken head knobs. The amp is stocked with a complete compliment of vintage tubes including a 5Y3 rectifier and matched RCA 6V6 power tubes. The cabinet is wrapped in the original lightly textured brown material, not dissimilar from the bindery cloth used on later Magnatone models. The original brown and gold grillcloth is in remarkable shape, and the amp even retains the original metal “MEC-Magna Electronics Co” logo on the amp’s face as well as the stock leather handle. There’s a bit of light scuffing and wear on the edges of the enclosure, yet for a Magnatone that’s practically a prototype, it’s sure to satisfy discerning collectors and studio players alike.
